Been on my first service yesterday and really surprise that there is not even one showroom car inside honda. The tax holiday period is really driving the sales.
*
Yeah. Saw one showroom left with only one car inside... Civic Type R.

QUOTE(ubuntu @ Aug 18 2018, 09:41 AM)
Dear all, I'm looking for a brv but according to the SA now no more stock to be deliver by 31Aug, SA advised me to book now and see if September Honda will come out with any promotion like absorb the SST or not. If not they can refund in full. My concern is the current 4k discount and current price is only effective for the car registered on or before 31Aug, I'm in doubt with the SA because usually if customer cancel the booking the fee will gone.
*
Honda dealers I spoke to allow refund of booking fee. Some dealers deduct a little money, say RM50 if you pay with credit card but give full refund if you pay by cash. Some dealers will still deduct a bit of money when you pay with cash and deduct more, if you pay by cc.
You can ask your SA to write it clearly and put his signature or company stamp (personal opinion, not sure if it's usable in the event of a dispute). Please take note of the TnC though. The compensation amount, if any, is unknown at the point of signing. Neither did it state the max limit.

Bros,

Just want to check with you all. Do you all face any issues with opening / closing the rear doors, alignment and odour as follows:

1.  Need to use more strength when you depress the door handle switch and when it opens, there is a "thud" sound.

2.  When you close the rear doors, the sound is not solid like the front doors but hollow, like Proton Saga.

3.  Also, my car alignment seems to be off the mark coz I have not managed to park my car in a straight line as compared to my previous Myvi. It is always slanted one side.

4.  The other issue I face is when I pass by certain places like plantations, the odour of urea or fertiliser filters into the car.

Do any Bros here have similar issues? Thank you.
*
3. If you can't park it straight due to poor alignment, you won't not be able to drive it in a straight road without having to grip your steering wheel hard.

But if alignment is out by just a little bit, the parking will be affected but the steering will not veer off too much isn't it? Previously one of the forumers also mentioned his Brv has a slight alignment issue.
Mine is E-specs so don't have reverse camera laugh.gif

Bros, thanks for the feedback / comments
*
Parking will be probably affected if you park like Russ Swift. I don't know, but it's hard to imagine so bad an alignment which affects your parking, yet you can still drive normally. Doesn't add up.

Maybe you are not used to the car yet.

Going to reach 30,000km service soon.
My SA said the service will cost around ~rm600 due to replacing CVT oil.

Is this true?
*
Iirc, City only requires to change CVT oil at 40,000km. I understand it's the same engine and drive train?

This looks more like the air con condenser unit that is next to the radiator.

It's the evaporator coil, located behind dashboard.

On schedule..its suppose to be 40 000km..so you are all right to service plus 1k..

Last year i overshoot to 7k..suppose to service for 5k..center not said anything..

So its ok kot..
*
There is nothing the SC can do if you delay your servicing. I know of someone who bought a used Honda Jazz < 2 years, which was not serviced at SC for the latest few times. The new buyer sent it for thorough servicing at SC and no question was asked too. The question is, will there be trouble claiming warranty when the time comes?

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Mar 8 2019, 05:20 PM)
just an update:

SC didn't make any fuss about me overshooting it by 900km.

my 40,000km service today costed me around rm670.
Major replacement includes CVT oil change, aircon evaporator & etc.
normal services just around rm300+.

now i can felt the aircond is more colder than before. Reached 40,000km after 2 years of usage.
*
What is wrong with your aircon evaporator?

Apparently i’ve checked on my previous services’ receipts.

Aircond evaporator replacement is done every 20,000km service.
I’ve checked against honda malaysia service pricing form BRv and found nothing mentioned about aircond evaporator replacements.

My brv’s aircon is cold enough though.
Is honda malaysia trying to squeeze more money from its unnecessary service items??
*
Are you referring to aircon filter?

original brv doesn't come with aircon filter ...
so no need for replacement ...unless owner request to install .the filter...
*
But who replaces AC evaporator every 20k? So I assumed he was referring to filter, and it's not mentioned anywhere because as you said, there's no filter to begin with.

BRV doesnt have aircon filter to begin with.
So i decided to ask SC to install it back in January last year.

But the one i am talking about it the aircon evaporator.
I wonder if you guys got this replaced every 20,000km service when you sent for service at SC?
Did your SA explained everything before doing service?

I dont think it’s compulsory though.
Now that i am aware of this, will be more alert when my Brv is ready for 60,000km service.
*
I see.

As for aircon evaporator, are you referring to the one behind the dashboard? This is usually changed only when it is leaking as it's labour intensive as the dashboard needs to be removed.

maybe that's perhaps aircon evaporator is part of wear & tear items so not covered under warranty.
i will ask SC to clarify this matter later on.
*
How much were you charged? I have a feeling they changed expansion valve instead of evaporator.

Rm110

Expansion valve? Is it normal to be replaced for every 2 years for BrV? 🤔
*
RM110...no way this low for changing evaporator, maybe can't even cover the labour cost.

2nd answer: not the norm but like all mechanical things, it can spoil.

What did your invoice state?

How frequent the filter need to replace?
*
If you like to drive with windows down, it will be dirty faster. If you like to use "fresh air" mode on your aircon, it will get dirty faster. This is because both scenarios introduce more dirt into the filter.

Here it is guys.

My BRV 40,000km service that includes the aircond evaporator replacement. been seeing this on my 20,000km service previously and that was 1 year ago.

user posted image

Is it honda malaysia want our car to be fully OPTIMIZED, hence making this replacement as compulsory?  hmm.gif

appreciate your inputs whether you have this aircond evaporator replacement every 20,000km service.
*
It's 99.9% evaporator cleaner, not changing evaporator. You take a look at item no.2. If it is that cheap to replace evaporator, I won't mind doing it every 20k... but wait, maybe not, as I don't want more rattles.
IMO, this kind of cleaning usually only removes mildew and mould which cause bad smells, and probably not able to remove dirt. You can imagine your home aircon indoor unit where the cleaner can be sprayed directly onto the fins of the evaporator - it still won't clean that effectively.

Like I said, the total amount he paid for the job will not even cover the labour cost of replacing the evaporator. You need to dismantle the dashboard, hence I'd avoid it even if Christmas came early and they feel generous to offer this at that price.

evaporator = tangki? look from the photo that selling in India .

or you have Honda brv evaporator photo ?
so complicated to change it ?
*
Not tangki, it looks like a radiator where it exchanges heat with the cabin air flow. Macam the front section of our indoor unit of split aircon.

Edit: ok, my first impression of tangki is "tank" in English. If you are referring to radiator, yes, it looks like the one you showed. It exchanges heat between refrigerant and cabin air from the cabin air blower.

I thought replacing the actual thing hehehe.

I got the discount due to i did service at SC where i bought the car in the first place.
If you do at Other SC, then you will not get this 20% discount

You Google "car air conditioner evaporator replacement" and see the work involved.
