the photo show radiator ..but describtion write evaporator..
confusing ....

They look similar because they are essentially heat exchangers, only difference is the tubeside is hot for radiator whereas it's cold for the evaporator.

It's a labour intensive job.

Rm1k ++ for evaporator replacement? Huhuhu

When is it being replaced? 60,000km?
Or your friend’s brv aircon no longer cold and have to replace?
*
For cars out of warranty, I'd replace it when:
1. It's leaking - affects cooling and I wouldn't want to breathe in the refrigerant.
2. It's become so dirty that it affects cooling - imagine there is no heat exchange due to plugged fins. Since we need to dismantle the dashboard to clean it, we might as well change it.

anyone know about aircon flushing?
*
Iinm it's to clean up the ac system where refrigerant flows, to remove dirt or maybe residual dirty compressor oil.
I won't do this if my ac is running fine. Only if I change compressor, perhaps. But then again, a simple evacuation to remove air is probably all I need when changing compressor if the ac is fine before the compressor gives way.
The thing is, is the machine they use clean enough? Sekali it introduces more dirt, or loosen existing dirt and causes plugging.

Hi..
I think I've made the right choice of getting the brv.. family of 6 to haul around during weekends and holidays,
good power, economical, quite peppy even tho engine just 1.5 cc
anyway nothing to shout about either.. its a very basic car to get from point a to point b..
I've owned honda civic fd1 before.. its totally a different animal..  biggrin.gif

Bro, it's 1.5L or 1500cc biggrin.gif

install from SC, then after go home, replace with the filter bought outside..

when you need to go back for service, put back the ori one, then no worry about warranty
*
Might as well don't put any filter when visiting SC?

Actually, since the car doesn't come with filter, there is no scheduled filter change. So why worry about being asked to change filter? I don't suppose they go through your service history and tell you "Mr. XYZ our records show you put in a filter in ABC SC on *date*. So now you must change filter based on intervals specified for cars with filter"

the filter condition same as 1ST day compare after 6Months later ...haha...
think SC will buy from you with double or more the price for that filter to do analysis ..why never get dirty after some period ..
filter installation based on users need...original the car come without filter ...

if install filter at SC cost rm2xx..confirmed aircon warranty valid
if install ownself cost rm6x ...might void aircon warranty
*
I understand the part you mentioned. It's the filter replacement issue I was responding to.
There is no filter replacement requirement for brv because there is none to begin with.
So why the difference with those who installed filter at sc? Question is, does the SC which installed the first filter update this status inside their computer system, thus making it compulsory to change filter from then on?

yes ..the filter installed at SC, they will update in their system to keep track ...SC will ask to  change the filter after some period thus will be additional charge ..

for those who installed filter by own self ..lets say within warranty period the aircon break down ...SC can claim that the faulty caused by using 3rd party filter ..so warranty void ..
but so far non of this case happen yet ...

I see... thanks for the info.
