Hi there, just a quick check, able to buy a number on behalf of my wife? The JPJ mySikap account is tagged under my name/IC and was wondering to help get her ideal number for her new ride.

I know in person need a copy of the person's IC etc. Not sure about online though. If I were to get a number, it will be registered under my name, but can it be used if the car is registered under someone else's name?

Just to share about MySikap and how to do transfer if you bought a number there for your spouse.

I purchased a number on MySikap intended for a car under the name of my SO, totally forgetting that the account was registered under my name.

But, no worries! Just print out the purchase receipt, a copy of your and your spouse IC, a copy of your marriage certificate and go to JPJ. Go to the car plate tender / registration counter (if you don't know ask which one is it), and tell them you want to change ownership of car plate number to your wife.

They will give you a form to fill + request for the photostat copy of all the items above. If approved, they will chop and pass you back the form. And, thats it. You are done!

Hopefully I'm in the correct thread. I'm interested to register MySikap so that I can choose number myself. JPJ is now open during weekends during RMCO. Is the counter for MySikap registration open during weekends? Or it only caters for road tax & license renewal?

You can try to ask around like security guard post or just go to the main building entrance

Thanks. Another newbie question, hope you don't mind. I can't see any running numbers for KL currently but I can see certain states like Selangor in this website: JPJ Latest Number Inquiry
Why is this so? Is it because KL currently bidding VEV series that's why cant see running number? If yes, then what about other states?

EDIT: Oh when I tried again after posting, results showed. Weird, one second no result, one second there is haha.
