just wondering, through the sammy elaborate remote, is it possible in engineer mode to turn off local dimming.

local dimming really seen when you got a black end credit and white text.

I have this annoying problem as well. No way to turn it off but there is a workaround. I label my hdmi input source as a PC and it disable auto dimming when showing dark images.

Interesting workaround, i do however use plex as a source via wifi and may think this may not work; however i agree it could work for hdmi based sources.

They utilize the same screen and I really don't think one is much better than another . Perhaps they are running on different settings and modes.
By nature , even within the same TV models and same settings there are going to be some unit variance .
One may be a little bit more colorful than another . But the difference is not going to be huge .

The unit you will receive from the shop is going to look a little different as well unless they are sending the demonstrating unit to your home.
At this price range , just get whichever model you can find that is cheaper .

Just ordered a 55 RU7100 from Aeon.

This is to replace a 10 yr old 32 LG FHD...which still works fine.

Hoping to be somewhat impressed! will be linked up to my Minix U9-H.

Maybe not the latest and greatest but for 2700 and RM 200 voucher to put towards a decent sound bar, should keep me going for quite a few years.

Any tips on set up or just go with what the installer will do?

Thanks!

Thanks, just left it stock as delivered .no problems at all.

Was thinking about a sound bar but find the 20w on the TV are plenty good enough for movies etc.

Just one thing the Samsung remote is very clunky ,but using the Minix A2 instead which is great.

All in all very satisfied ,could have taken the RU65 for 3300 but really too big for my place,55 is perfect!

Default settings is good for starters but if you want closer to actual color & best image then you have to play around with the expert pic settings. smile.gif

And yes the TV speakers are good when cranked up about 40-60 volume.

Samsung one remote is clunky as you've already known now so 3rd party remove / air mouse works well..

TV size depends on how far your sofa is located from the TV. Modern 4K tv's requires to sit close to enjoy the best pic quality. thumbup.gif

Yes i looked at the distance charts..9ft is good for 1080 .

At 9ft i guess it's maybe slightly too far away for 4k but then again not seeing much 4K content at all, but anyhow its 4 sure better than my old 32" rclxms.gif

Hi, just wanna ask
1) is it worth it to switch from my toshiba 43l3750vm to samsung ua50nu7400??? Just wanna do watch some youtube and wanna play cartoon for my kids using usb stick
2) the toshiba tv that i use right now when play any content from usb the video plays okay for a few minutes, then begins to stutter and eventually the sound is lost. I thought maybe the file was corrupt but after checking it on my laptop the file itself seems fine. I usually download 720p content from my laptop to watch on tv, anyone know why this happen?
3) will the samsung got the same problem if i play usb video like the toshiba?

You better bring your file to the store to test the tv before purchase.
