Oh and one more thing, if u have been to Universal Studios and go for the Jurassic Park Ride this movie will gives u goosebumps. Seriously i feel like i was really at the theme park when i hear "Welcome to Jurassic World..." in the movie. Haha. Instead of animatronic they get a real live one.

Watched it... definitely better than "The Lost World" and "Jurassic Park III" by miles.
No spoilers... Roping in a great director and good writers definitely paid off, albeit not perfectly executed. The last I saw on RT was '73%' which meant something is definitely right, but not all the way. The one thing that I absolutely loved was that they tried to rekindle the classic moments from the first film; the rides & the theme park - - this time with actual visitors. If a visionary in the early 90s were to build Jurassic Park, it could look something like Jurassic World. In the times we live in today, the technology is there to build something like this although some things are still a bit too far fetched (the gyrosphere for example). Also worth noting are the number of 'references' and trivia that originates from the first film ; another respectful move by the film-makers. To name a few ; the original Jurassic Park logo finally appears (at one point I thought we were NEVER going to see it), the eye-goggles, the jeep, and... the place where they all escaped at the end of Jurassic Park Now to the meaty stuff, literally. The dinosaurs are IN! Beautifully crafted and thanks to modern CGI, it didn't have that "too fake" feeling. Thinking back, how on Earth did they manage to have the CGI quality in Jurassic Park (1993) is beyond me. Right after the 'second half' of the movie, when you-know-what-started... things went downhill a bit. The ending definitely was a saving grace and very, very unique. Seeing T-Rex, the mighty one There are some production details that were quite significant but was almost in the background. For example, the statue of John Hammond was never really shown up-close. A bit of shame considering how well they made it look and paid homage to the man himself. Dr. Henry Wu is back Acting chops were fine, there was running and screaming and then more dinosaurs; a really worthy adventure! The wait is finally over and it was worth it. It could have been so much more better, but still a good watch. The whole military aspect of Jurassic World was a little mixed for me, felt a bit out of place and it's as if they tried to think of "what would modern day men do to dinosaurs - weaponize them". I do hope they make more, and why not. 8/10 PS : Did anyone notice the book (Chaos Theory perhaps) by Dr. Ian Malcom on board the train ? |

really impress me. I was initially pulled off by the idea of an hybrid dinosaour. Seriously? Will they make the dinosaour talk? but they redeem themselves showing they still believe in the true spirit of the original jurrassic park movie. star lord really make this movie shine, and the usual kids that are always force into jurrassic park movie. But what i really love is the theme park, they really make it REAL, with an actual themepark feeling. Unlike the first where it was just a trial ride and never fully fledge out as a park |

QUOTE(naith @ Jun 12 2015, 10:50 AM) Does anyone know if the Imax version here in Malaysia has the 6 minutes of Ant-Man at the beginning? Watched it in IMAX 3D in Sunway Pyramid on Saturday and they do have it.As for the movie, I really enjoyed it and had a good time from the beginning. The raptors being trained were made believable, they can take orders from someone they trust but are still smart enough to bite back if they want to. I was surprised how graphic the death scenes were this time even though there weren't much blood. Definitely the most graphic out of the three and your baby is probably gonna have nightmares watching them. There were some references to the first movie here and there (the shirt, jeep, night vision goggles, how to kids were getting attacked in front of a glass is similar to the one from the first movie, the flare used to attract the dinosaur, etc) and I also liked the climax which I though was unexpected where they invited a special 'guest' from the first movie to join them. The 3D is ok but you won't miss much without it. I've waited too long for another good dinosaur movie to give me a good time and I'm gonna be generous and give this a 10/10. Nowadays its all about superhero movies so its good to see reptiles taking the spot light this time. This post has been edited by masterelr: Jun 14 2015, 12:30 PM |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Jun 13 2015, 12:32 AM) Haha... probably not. I just had this crazy idea that either Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil) or Dr. Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum) would make a cameo, post credits. The movie ends and then there is a bar, the TV showing the news of the incident, camera zooms out and that iconic shirt+safari hat sitting on a stool watching it. Camera then pans up on him and it's Dr. Alan Grant... "They never learn do they *sips drink*" <blank screen> credits continue to roll. QUOTE(BelowAverage @ Jun 14 2015, 02:54 AM) 9/10 Yes, absolutely. I was initially not really in favor of a hybrid dinosaur, felt like everything was ruined at that point. It is like an 'insult' to what made the JP movies what they were - - actual dinosaurs from fossil records. really impress me. Unlike the first where it was just a trial ride and never fully fledge out as a park But... they managed to capture the spirit of the original (JP1 in particular) as you said and that's what made Jurassic World worth watching. It was very respectful to the originals films. Even with the hybird dinosaur + raptor training, they managed to keep it 'grounded in reality'. Totally believable. Hey who knows... if there are Raptors around today, they could just be trainable. As for the park, indeed we never got to see a working park with visitors. Jurassic World delivered that, and it's a first for the JP movies. The film makers/screenwriters must have had one of their main priority to have a functioning park (at last). Might catch this again next weekend, just for fun. This post has been edited by defaultname365: Jun 14 2015, 12:58 PM |

I watched Jurassic World with my parents, and both say "The old one's better." They're movie buffs when they were younger and totally remember everything from 1993. I recommend taking your parents(who are into movies) and go have a good time with them!
Personally, I give it a 7/10. The storyline and characters are a bit shallow, but the details and dinosaurs make up for it. I totally LOVE the theme park in it. If you've watched Jurassic World, immerse yourself even more by going to: www.jurassicworld.com And Hilton Isla Nublar: www.hiltonislanublar.com *Spoilers ahead, so proceed with cautiooonnnn* |
