I said avoid....

Brembo, Textar, Pagid, TRW, Continental ATE, Akebono, Mando, Sumitomo

These are OEM for most Continental/Japanese cars. They might not be the best in the market (eg for track use) but you can hardly go wrong with them on normal daily usage.

Eg. BMW brake pad usually made by Continental ATE. VW/Audi/Mercedes usually TRW. Korean cars by Mando. Japanese cars under Akebono/Sumitomo mostly.

Its not easy to import genuine Honda parts from Thailand through AP (Honda Malaysia blocked it)
The margin for SC is 30%++ and if its original, RM4xx to RM2xx would be nearly 50% off.
*
I don't know about this AP thingy.

If you say the margin is 30%, they are probably charging customer RM5xx for the pads alone (exclude labour). What I was describing, the SC replaced a RM2xx pads for customer in the 1st place.

current best brake pads brand is Mintye?
*
Boleh pakai lah.
If we compare Bosch vs Mintye for a Proton Wira/Saga/Iswara. (I used both brands for more than 10 yrs each).
Mintye is harder, thus last longer, and louder too.
Bosch softer, wear faster, relatively quieter.

Try their General CT series for everyday usage. Should be good for you.

My experience:
I'm a current user of Bendix, MKT series for my Saga BLM.
Within a week my wheels are dusty for normal drive to and back to work.

And I think there is local and imported set for it.
First set of bendix I had was great, 2nd set bought from a different place.
Didn't feels good as the 1st set. Could be local for the 2nd set. Be cautious.
Maybe other forummers can help me clarify this issue.

i didnt change at service centre, it cost a bomb for their so called original honda brake pads.

i went to change at workshop outside, project mu, 2 versions, one is made in japan and another is thailand made. i tried both, both also about the same, but jap made is slightly more expensive.

also, they perform better than my original honda brakepads.

Buy online & pay labor to mechanic to change it at their workshop. Brake pads for my car is quite hard to get locally (only solution is buy online).

last year I changed my honda city brake pads twice due to the orginal brake pads were worn out. I bought from shopee then bring it to nearest tyre shop then pay them labour charge to replace the brake pads. The first set is Honda brand brake pads and claim that it is Made in Japan. However, the pads built quality is so bad, when I use it for few days, the brake is so noisy and feels something friction between two pieces of metals during I hold down the brake. Also the car can't stop tightly during I hold down the brake. I was doubted that the brake pad is fake one.

So, later that I don't want to buy from shopee. I change to buy another brand "Bendix" from Lazada. Finally, the one Bendix brake pads were solved my brake issue. Now was used the brake for some times already. Guess already more than half year already. No big issue, braking is smoother and no more weird metal frictions feel like the previous fake brake pads. Sometimes still got some little high-pitched sound during braking but not so noisy, mostly not noticeable during driving.

If you want to change brake pads, better just go get a cheap Bendix or Bosch brand brake pads them bring them to nearest tyre shop and ask them to help change the brake pads for your car. Usually labour charge is just few ringgits only. The brake pads also not expensive, just around RM100~150 only for Honda City and built quality for Bendix is good and tidy look. Don't buy the cheap "Honda" brand brake pads because mostly in Shopee and Lazada are the fake one.

Hey man, thank for the input, definitely am not going back to so called ori Honda brake pad, its a nightmare to me, i experience the brake pad just like you did, bendix i wish i could take that but it also another nightmare to me, noisy plus scratching my brake disc, making me to skimm my disc rotor eventually.
