Even with all the new RTS coming out like the massive scale of Sup Com,interactive environment in CoH and the upcoming World in Conflict,DoW still stands up on it's own as a unique RTS that will never be replace by any other RTS,maybe even it's sequel might not replace it.
Other people might dump this game for a newer game but that doesn't stop you from enjoying game if it's really good. There are still people playing TA till now and why should you stop playing because other people arent playing.I beg some people will still play DoW 10 years from now. I dont mind playing WC3 but hell no DotA,unless i have an access to the real battlenet.
So far,i think one of my favourite character in W40k is Konrad Curze a.k.a Night Haunter from the Night Lord Chao Legion. |

QUOTE(DarkFyre @ Jun 20 2007, 01:48 PM) it all depends on gameplay wise.. to me DOW2 will rock and SC2 wont have much depth to the gameplay (if considering it will play like the old SC but with an updated graphics) but story wise it will be cool.. It's almost clear that DoW2 have much better gameplay than SC2. From the videos i have seen,SC2 tend to have the old SC1 feel and gameplay. There wont be covers, morale or any new fancy stuff. It's just SC1 with better graphics and some gameplay changes. |

QUOTE(Hunt @ Jun 20 2007, 03:16 PM) Forget WCG......i cant stand that organization that markets itself on false goals and ambitions and reaps over the skulls of so many gamers like us...... Yeah,i still cant believe why did they put NFSC and C&C3 in.No offense to EA fans but i do find both games are flawed to certain extent.NFSC is completely unstable, tune a car and you get a crash. If this crash bug is still there,i wonder how they gonna have the competition. Also, this game comes without LAN and i wonder how are they gonna have it over the internet with ISP like TM Nut. C&C3,a part of me like this game but another part of hates this game.Even from the demo, there are so many units are completely useless or ineffective. Now,i got no idea whats the current state of this game. QUOTE(Hunt @ Jun 20 2007, 03:16 PM) they already have a cash cow......now i think they are gonna try to turn SC2 into a bigger cash cow...... Sounds like what EA likes to do.we have always stand fighting against hordes of games that threaten our existence........Be vigil brothers........the enemy approaches......... QUOTE(Hunt @ Jun 20 2007, 03:16 PM) That has to do with gameplay......the more intense and exciting the gameplay is.....the less supporters there are.......looks at COH, DOW, Supcom, BattleRealms, and etc......they all have one thing in common.....to attract gamers like us.....which are rare........still its through our commitment and love for the game that it stays strong and lives...... I seconded that. Those games are complex but once you get it right,it feels good when you are playing it.It just seems like the majority of the gamers just like simpler games over those "complex" games. QUOTE(Hunt @ Jun 20 2007, 03:16 PM) COH graduated to the next level after learning from DOW........lessons from DOW spawned the magnificient COH..........whatever it is......DOW was not the first game that was released by Relic to have broken boundaries.......I'm really grateful that Relic is still around.....hopefully ppl will realize to buy ori games from Relic to keep them alive............I will avenge you, Bullfrog, the keeper has not died...........EA will go down....... If they have DoW2,i'll definitely buy original.Say TAK NAK to pirated. QUOTE(Hunt @ Jun 20 2007, 03:16 PM) And how do you justify a wider range of audience in gamers......we are broken into genres......in RTS there are classifications......but Real-time RTS is all the same regardless of the gameplay that has been instilled........so wider range of audience is not the correct term.......what you mean must be the collective preference of simpleton gamers that ruin our gaming communities..... I think fuj means Blizzard games are designed to run on a wider range of computer hardware. |

QUOTE(scrubiee @ Jun 20 2007, 08:47 PM) 2 be honest im very disappointed with dow:dc balance issue The current state of balance isnt that bad.At least most units are useful and DC is pretty fun to play, unlike WA.and they dont even bother making an effort by making new patches at least making a new patch doesn't make the game balance and make another till its well balance or at least satisfy the community.. necrons are so broken its not even funny I do hope they release 2 or 3 more patches before they fully concentrate on CoH or other projects. After those 2 or 3 patch, maybe it's the community's turn to keep the game alive. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Jun 20 2007, 09:50 PM |

QUOTE(scrubiee @ Jun 20 2007, 10:02 PM) this shows how dedicated they are towards the game There are a few guys at the modding community who are really passionate about the community like Thud,Compiler and Arkan.maybe they thought the community was small thats why they din bother about patches i believe blizzards projects are bigger yet they covered all of their games n try their best to make it balance I do hope these guys keep modding DoW after Relic stop patching DoW. It's true that the DoW community is dying but i do hope some people will keep it going. |

Dunno is this true or not,i found this when i was lurking around in Filefront.
QUOTE From an online survey by GW and THQ. Introducing Warhammer Dawn of War II, an all new Real Time Strategy (RTS) game set in the electrifying Warhammer 40,000 universe. Taking command of an elite strike force, players will embark on an epic crusade across the galaxy, battling endless foes in brutal front line combat. Players will conquer entire planets and systems in the name of the Space Marines, the Eldar, or the Tyranids, and crush the other races that have staked their claims on the galaxy. Dawn of War II features a unique "meta" campaign that allows players to choose from dozens of missions set across several differant worlds. Thanks to changing opponents, endless objectives, and dynamic weather effects, no two battles (even on the same map) will play the same way as differant factions conquer and relinquish territory. Dawn of War II revolutionsizes the RTS genre by allowing players to slowly build their army up from a small band of raw recruits into the deadliest force the galaxy has ever seen. You will decide the fate of your army by choosing which troops, tanks and super weapons to add to your arsenal. You will also guide the fate of your cammander as you equip him with the rare weapons and items that you uncover on the planets you conquer. Two other 40k games were also mentioned. Ultima Segmentum an MMORPG and Allegiance an action combat game. Hope you like it Source: http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/news/News_o...;33921x#1271512 I do hope Relic is making DoW 2 but those guys at Relic forum says it's fake. Hope THQ/Relic/Buggo/GW will clarify this asap. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Jun 23 2007, 02:34 PM |
