Its easy for most of us to suggest that you do this do that. Get this get that. Buy this buy that. Get CC only. EZ. But as a few of us has mentioned. Life is not as simple. You would think that starting work then you can buy anything you want. In truth, Its not as simple as that. I have worked for a year and a half and I haven't even dare to think of buying my first console yet. I live a relatively good life. With enough money to be kept every month and a car. But I know if I go into debt for gaming then I am pretty screwed. If you dont trust what we say. Then at least do this. Work for 2 months. And see for yourself the truth. Your need before and after you start work will be a different thing. I can't imagine my life without my car and with a console This post has been edited by reveur: May 18 2007, 10:28 AM

QUOTE(DDSFan8 @ May 18 2007, 02:39 AM) I need to buy furniture la. Anyway, CIMB VISA card good ah for starters? Try applying for HSBC, Maybank or Citibank. More outlets will give u benefits with these cards. But only Citibank gives you free for life annual fee waiver.

Live within your means and you will be happier...and remember that patience is virtue` I know you might feel put off by the replies everyone is giving you but the truth usually hurts.

Getting Started

|
I started with RM2300 for my first job, but I work OTs a lot and always have additional RM500 added onto my basic. With my food, lodging, pocket money for parents, car petrol and maintenance and after a 10% increment upon confirmation (6 months probation period), I could only afford to get my first console after 1 and a half years working. And that's only a PS2 with a normal 29" CRT (not even a flat screen). My advice, console is ok but the LCD is an overkill for you. Rather save up money for something else in the future. But you don't get as many benefits with other cards. I had EON bank and AMbank previously, but cancelled it already. Plus, Citibank's reward points never expire. Beat that...... Be careful with CCs ya, I agree with our friends here who say just be careful about committing to a console AND LCD TV - that's a sizable investment.
One thing about CCs is they encourage you to spend money you don't have. Take it easy, if you want, save up for ONE console, get a regular TV, enjoy it and then upgrade. You'll appreciate it more when you have worked a bit and realised how hard it is to earn a living.

Bonus by December?
This company really must be making money, or there's something they're not telling you. IINM you won't be eligible for your bonus usually until the next financial year.

As per experience. New worker dont get bonus until you worked there at least 1 year. Furthermore. Angpau also tops a few hundred. Dont expect more then 300. Since ur new.
Key Word UR NEW!
I know its disheartening to hear this from us but seriously man. Unless ur up for selling ur PS3 and LCD within 3 months time. Follow their advice for a CC. Get it then u know the harsh harsh truth about reality.

*phat_newbie reward point is one of the reason that encourage us to spend more using cc . btw i do agree that international bank cc ( citibank, hong kong bank etc) services is better than local banks. *rx330 Bonus depends on d company. I joined my company in september 2004 and still get the bonus in January 2005. .They pro rate it. But even every year got bonus still not enough money to buy wii . p/s : but alredi got 'best thing' in life

Well my brother, it's not a question of they "dare" or not.
If you decline, there are 10 other people who will say yes. That's just the law of the workplace.
Just don't let the number rule your life. Money isn't everything - quality of life is.
