Hello. I am going to start working soon. Recently, I went for a job interview in KL and

this company is willing to pay me a range of RM1800 to 2000 for a management trainee position. It is a management trainee program in communication

Now, the cost of me going there and back is only RM3 the most since the office is near the LRT.

I want to know, for a fresh grad, is it enough for me to buy any Next-GEN console with a 26 LCD within a 6 months period?

If u keep about 5-6months salary, i think should be enough 2buy 1 single console& a nice lcd tv..No need buy plasma will do the trick...At the same time, the spare cash u can use 2buy games& maintain ur other "expenses". Btw, the company still got offer job for fresh grad? laugh.gif

earning now is much better from my days + gadget now very high tech.

here is an instant advancement scheme.

hold for few mths, armed with pay in slip go to apply Credit cards from 2 different bank at the same day. virgin holder get instant approval.

now with a budget of RM10k is spending time:-
RM2.5k for console & games
RM4k for LCD
RM1.5k for sound 5.1 system
RM3k for anything else if not throw in for extra inches on LCD.

if just 1 credit card also can but tight budget:-
RM2.5k for console & games
RM1k for dell FWP 24 LCD
sound system as long got minimum optical

now the hurting part for RM10K mthly payment back about RM600 for next 24mths
& RM5k payment back about RM600 for 12 mths.

PS make sure yr new company got plenty of OT work.

do you heard of 12-24mths interest free via creditcard?

if not got 2 save mthly basis till reach next summer 2008.

games now day - sound is a must especially in FPS where is put you in the scene like watching BD/DVD movie thru mono speaker - mati pun tak tahu.

Huish, bro you're gonna be living with parents ah? Have you factored other costs of living besides transport (internet, phone, rental, food etc etc)?

Some of our friends here are right - go for a 0% instalment on your LCD purchase, you'll be able to afford a better one with a little less stress on your pocket.

Also remember gaming should never come before survival!

Word of advice. Dont spend more then you have in your account.

You can get credit card you can get 0% installment.

Question is, are you willing to be burdened by all this debts even before you earn much money?

Furthermore, what about food? While you sit home everyday to enjoy your ps3, your friend is out there getting a life.

That aside, are you willing to suffer bread or more everyday? Never put gaming in front of your life.

Do not get into debt for something like this. Buy if you have the capability but not if that means going into debt

My advice: take your time and save and then buy la, what's the rush? As if the console/LCD TV is gonna run away from you.

Thread starter, you are putting down your expenses rather simplistically, and as Lord_Ashe and reveur have pointed out, what about food, internet, phone, and even money to your parents/siblings?

To the rest of you who suggested, talk is cheap, but have you actually put your advice into practice?

haven't confirmed a job and it's already planning to spend all of the salary away. doh.gif

TS, it's better to stop day dreaming in getting a console and LCD TV within 6 months period, after you start work.

Go land yourself a good solid work first, get your first pay cheque, only then you'll know the reality of working life. By then you might have a second thought of spending all of your hard earned money at one go.

here my piece of advise, dont go for CC dont loan, for ur salary is quite small for living.. calculate ur income - all the cuts, such epf and socso, then - living expenses( food, transportation, rental, bills, entertainment etc) than thats what left of u...

its pain full when u realise ur cash finish by the middle of the month and it even painfull to ralise u cant even pay ur loan since not much left already... so better if u start saving now and i think u can get ur first console after 6 month of saving.. go the hard way instead of the easy way...

this is what i believe, u taste the sweetness first and u will get the bitter part later, but if u taste the bitter part first u will get the sweetness later.. the choice is urs and its ur life .. if u sengsara no one here can help u.. so choose wisely.
