I would like to buy at the flash sales but 3gb/32gb the OS will be an update periodcally , not to mentiont there will be a new bugs after every update (usually) the OS getting bigger and heavy and from android 8 to android 9 and probably android 10 , im pretty sure 3gb/32gb will has a limitation like a RAM handling , bad APK file , install & uninstallaion cache / registry tampered etc . i know rm599 is a good price but lets say if i buy and can be use w/o laggy for 1 year or lessĀ
It is not about the RAM but about your usage. If you open a lot of apps and want them to switch fast then 3gb is not enough. If you don't mind waiting a bit when you re-open apps then this is fine. I think, the SoC of this phone can last at least 2 years. My Redmi Note 3 running SD650 is still working fine for my son. No problems playing most games and it's 2 years already.
Also, this is a mid range phone at low range price. If you have the budget get Mi A2 with 6gb RAM. That would last you at least 3 years.
End of the day, what you pay is what you get. At RM599, don't expect flagship quality and performance.

I'm having some camera bug whereby if I use Google translate the image becomes dark (not screen brightness). Can someone help to test on your unit? Btw, I'm using 4/64 version. Thanks
Yes, mine becomes dark as well. I guess need to use the flash then.
In MY, it also comes with the 4/64 spec. Only the 3/32 has an inferior camera setup.
Take note, the review of the 6gb India version seems to say the fingerprint is also improved. For those with 4gb and 6gb version, please do tell if the fingerprint sensor is better.
I always turn off auto brightness as most of them does not work properly. My brightness is like 5%-10% most of the times and it is bright enough for me except when in direct sunlight.
Have you updated? Seem the fingerprint sensor is more responsive after ASUS patched it.
I don't think they can improve the fingerprint sensor anymore because it is hardware related. They used lousy fingerprint sensor which causes reading of fingerprint hard. Look at their other phone, Zenfone 5 and 5Z. Those have good fingerprint sensor and it works great. That means there is no problem with the fingerprint software that they use.
Also, from my experience. Once the firmware is update, the fingerprint works better for a while only. After some time, it goes back to being horrible. Right not, out of 10 times, it can only ready my finger print 5 times. That is appaling. Then again, not bad enough until I want to sell the phone. Still a good phone for playing games. Bottom line, this phone can never be my main daily driver. It is only good as a secondary phone.
I don't have issues with finger print access... Do register the same fingerprint twice or more since we are allowed to enroll 5 slots...

Also, before / during enrollment :
1) Clean the surface of the sensor with microfiber cloth, 2) Ensure the fingers are really really really dry, 3) Take your time to register.. . Don't suddenly lift the fingers... Leave the finger at least 2 seconds before proceeding to the next step, 4) If the same finger still has issues, maybe the finger's profile/groove is "exhausted" & not suitable anymore. Try the other 9 fingers... LOL...
Bro, thanks for trying to help but most of us use other phones as well. We would know what is good fingerprint sensor and what is bad fingerprint sensor. For this M1, it is bad.
Perhaps the security algorithm is not properly program to meet the "damp" fingerprint access...Asus is "testing" a brand new hardware/sensor to come up with a gimmick "damp fingerprint recognition" which other vendor never use...

My unit seems to be OK/reliable but not as "great" as Xiaomi or Huawei... It's not to the point to say "annoying" like the iPhone X faceID... faceID is really really really annoying especially in the dark...
Haha..I thought I am the only one who don't like face unlock. I think it is stupid. Cause lock screen messages doesn't work anymore. Whenever I look at the phone, it will unlock the phone and I have to do extra step to view the messages.
pocophone is a market disrupter. It will sell well in India and we will get lots of mods for it. Luckily Asus launched the Zenfone a bit earlier else their sales will be affected badly. Right now, the 6gb version will not sell because of pocophone. Xiaomi killed a few of their own models with Poco. I might "upgrade" to poco by end of the year if the price go down to around 1k.
H.phone w/ SD845 Price tag at rm1300 they never go down, wait 1 year and price drop less thn rm100 lol
or probably never drop price untill being replace w. new successor
Don't say never. Cause anything can happen. There might be another player who will slash the price further. Before poco f1 and honor play, will you ever imagine a flagship SoC go down to 1.3k? That time you are saying SD845 will never go down below 1.8k, right?
