Just updated my phone to firmware 316. Done re-root and cam2api.

I have to say the camera has improved slightly but Gcam still produces better picture by a hair margin. In terms of depth effects, Asus do a better job cause Gcams uses only 1 lens to achieve the bokeh effects.

Will test tonight to see if have the deep sleep hang issue.

Update: Multi-touch issue seems to be resolved. Will need test later tonight to be conclusive.

This issue exist in all Android 8.1, so Asus fixed it which is good and shows their commitment to making the phone better. Does RN5 have this issue still or already fixed by Xiaomi?

No such things at best of the best. It all depends on what you want with your phone. Price, performance, camera, design, android, gps and so on.

I think the best in term of battery lasting for this year model?
*
For now, no. This year? Definitely no. Mi Max 2 is coming with 5500mAH battery. There are other phone like Umidigi or other unknown brand that comes with 9000mAH battery.

A2 lite is using SD625. Xiaomi just want to get rid of their massive stocks of SD625. Performance of SD625 is half of SD636. I won't recommend anyone to go for SD625 now unless they really do not care about performance.

50% brightness is kinda bright yo?

I always turn off auto-brightness and my brightness is almost set at minimum. Probably like 5% brightness. That is already plenty bright for me. LOL...

My latest battery usage.

ZF 5z is a very good alternative to OnePlus 6. While it is still a bit lacking compared to OnePlus 6, it is still a very good phone for it's price.

I am back from trip! Used this phone as main driver during the trip. Really a good phone with large battery. No need to carry powerbank. I have like 50% left at the end of the day. Done a lot of google maps and grab and browsing.

No problem with GPS. No problem with cell signal. Nice!

Damned right. No point buying pricey, top of the line, high performance phones but having to carry power banks around and being unable to get the most out of the phone - like my buddy with his Mate 10 (with battery flat all the time).

Gimme a fairly good specced, sub 1k phone that will go the distance like M1, anytime. I'm glad I made the right choice.
*
Mate 10 have a 4000mAH battery which is find to last for 1 day of usage. Your friend's phone is either having battery degraded issue or some apps running in the background that suck the juice.

Hi M1 users,

Just checking if any of you seeing this error message "Network unavailable. Try again later" appearing randomly?

Yesterday was a different message, but also regarding the network issue.

However, I am still getting network without any noticeable lag.

PS: I'm on Digi Postpost 50 plan.
*
Are you sure it is not some sort of malware running in the background?

Try to provide screenshot if possible. Also, check the apps running in the background. Install Gsam battery monitor. Looks for the AppSucker screen. It will show background running apps.

The Mi A2 officially is selling at RM1199 for the 6gb/128gb model which is really a good deal. However, I will still stick to this phone because 3gb/32gb is good enough for my usage.

After using this phone for a month, I would say overall I give it 7/10. I don't think you can buy any phone that is better than M1 at RM599.

hi. guys. I am not familiar with Asus phone

Want to ask if it has feature like Samsung Secure Folder
*
This is Asus's pure android. Feature wise, it is like Pixel with almost no extra stuffs. All the extra features can be installed from play store. If you prefer all these modded android like MIUI, Touchwiz, ColorOS and so on then M1 (or pure android) is not for you. Having said that. Secure folder feature can get app like secure folder or folder lock or so on.

I suspect is this issue, as per link attached above.

Any other recommended app to detect this "toast" thing?
*
Why don't you install the toaster app to detect which app is causing the message? Once done, you can remove the toaster app if you want.
