Hi, I just bought a new Iriz 1.6 a couple of days ago and something peculiar happened. Was driving down the road and went over some bumpy roads. Then suddenly hear a noticable 'PING' sound, like spring opening from near by brake. Thought the brake spring just clicked in because new car. But this morning I went to check and found a broken plastic bit and a metal piece. It snapped. I called my SA and she came over and took it away to check with her colleagues. I trust my SA to come through with it because she so far has gone above and beyond to help.
I wanted to know if anyone had a similar incident or know what the piece of plastic is or if I should worry about it?
Here is what it is:

Any information on it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check if ur carpet too thick and prevent the clutch from fully pressed down from engaging. The clutch has 2 switches, one needs to be pressed and another unpressed. If still cannot most likely is switch problem.

U need to look underneath it (use a torchlight too). It's pretty easy. The switch can be removed easily by twisting switch to remove from the holder and detach the connector. Then find the parts number and buy online. About rm20 if not mistaken. I checked before and it was made by renault.

Also check if the rubber stopper still there or not. It might be missing or disintegrated and cannnot touch the switch when u step on the clutch.

Me. 2015 1.6MT. but sold off in 2019 bye.gif
Still missed the car handling and superb MT but because this is 1st gen iriz, mine has couple of engine issues (vibration, rattling, knocking and leaking) hence i sold it off at a loss.

Believe can be solved with aftermarket mounting right?

Design flaw. Cant be fixed. That's why the revised one using 3 point mounting. Couple of other issues cropped up but nothing major. Just don't want to deal with sc back n forth all the time.

I love the car but among other issues that made me fedup and decide to cut my losses because i dont have time to go sc all the time to claim warranty

1) brake switch problem, cant start car (need to step on clutch to start)
2) check engine light issue when clutch released too early after starting the car (caused by bad positioning error code, reset myself using obd sensor)
3) power window problem, plastic holder broke
4) steering rubbing sound eekk ekkk come and go
5) Under carriage rattling (found out is loose transmission cover)
6) interior rattling problem lol, cos the engine vibrates more the interior rattles even when idling.

I live with it  biggrin.gif

FYI, fuel pump issues cannot be detected by OBD.

Few symptoms are:-

1) When speeding suddenly, gear and CEL appear, forcing you to stop at road side to restart the engine.

2) Feel like CVT gonna die, owh wait, its just fuel pump problem.

3) Even after servicing your stock injector, problem above still happening. So, its fuel pump error.

This is the scenario for me.

Looking for Preve or Suprima Injector or higher CC injector for Iriz.

Now you say it i did have problem feeling like power loss when i step on throttle past 50% to accelerate. Maybe sign of fuel pump issue. Sc always say no issue haiz. I guess need to wait until become major prob and stranded on the road only sc will change it.
