Dear forumers, I'm planning to get my B Full bike license within this month! Hope to hear suggestions from sifus who had experienced ~ icon_question.gif
This is the 2 driving institute I found:

1.) Metro Driving Academy (Kampung Subang) quoted me RM1378 included GST (paket sampai lulus 3 times JPJ test retry)
2.) Safety Driving Centre (PJ) quoted me RM1199 included GST (paket sampai lulus 3 times JPJ test retry)

Attached Image Attached Image

As anyone had taken their B full license here? Can please share your experiences and advice to me whether which should I choose?
Any advices are welcomed!! Their good and bad, the environment and how about the bike availability to learn?
Thank you in advance!! thumbup.gif

I've written somewhere in here about Metro Subang. Experience from sending my son for his B Full last year (August 17). I've paid RM1000 for the "Sampail Lulus" package. The cheapest at that time. Google reviews.

Beaten up ER6N bikes. 3 bikes provided. One with an engine that just stall when it's hot, one that never wanna go straight (something not right with front suspension / chassis ) and the last one the most 'okay'. You cannot choose your bike during the JPJ test. So have to get used to all.

The instructor - hahahha just keep smoking somewhere. sweat.gif I retrain my son after he got his B Full. whistling.gif Now he ride with me to Lemang Tok Ki every Saturday morning for breakfast thumbup.gif

The Metro front desk / customer relation staff - thumbup.gif All paperwork done as promised and pretty efficient. Was given free XDOT helmet and reflective florescent vest.

It's all up to you to practise, practise and practise. Keep repeating the test course till all good. The 'killer' is the 'Titi'. So many didn't make it. The rest is ezpz... thumbup.gif

As for Safety Driving Centre - no idea / comment. sweat.gif

id take the one that is most convenient for me.... close distance from home...

and more importantly... has on-site JPJ test instead of having to go a JPJ somewhere.

FYI, my son never ride any clutch / big bike before. Zero experience. He only ride my Ego LC scooter for less than 10 hours before enrolling to Metro Driving for his B Full. He passed (no repeats thumbup.gif ) just after practicing for less than 6 hours there. whistling.gif sweat.gif He hardly ride anything before the class. On his first session, he dropped that ER6N twice but he's quite persistent and manage to get all right after his 2nd session. The rest just to repeat, repeat and repeat. Actually he hardly learn anything valuable as a rider there. whistling.gif

That's why after he got his B Full, I retrain him with proper riding lessons using my Rebel 500 and my brother's CBR1000RR. Metro Driving just his stepping stone to ride legally. whistling.gif

So, no worries. Get your B Ful sort out first. thumbup.gif Get legal.

I'm currently taking my B- Full at Metro so I can only share my experience there.

1 thing for sure, the front desk is really friendly and helpful. I encounter some issue while trying to register for the Undang test and they did their part fairy well to smoothen the procesure.

As for their Big Bike (the 3 er6n) is as per mentioned by @haturaya one that feels like it keep going right, one that overheat and with a broken clutch. And another 1 I can't say anything yet as I only had 2 sessions so far and has yet to try riding on that 1.

The instructor can be helpful if you asked. I guess he sees me struggling awhile back and came to me with some advice... As I'm a total noobie as well in riding.

One of the drawback that I can think of will be the time slots available for practice. Only morning session available for tuesday and Wednesday and morning and afternoon session for weekends, which can be a inconvenience for people that works retail like me.

6 hours practicing? That's mean don't have to commit the full 15 training in order to go for JPJ test?
Ahh.. thanks for ur comment, make me feel much better to be a total newbie ~ rclxm9.gif

6 hours on the bike. The rest just fingerprint the 'attendance'. whistling.gif Have to get that hours 'on paper' as required by JPJ. whistling.gif sweat.gif

6 hours = 6 training session.

Finger print the attendance at 9am, wait for your turn to get the bike, ride it for an hour, then clocked out at 12pm. Walla 3 hours clocked in in JPJ system. whistling.gif shhh don't tell JPJ people. sweat.gif

A couple fo videos helps.

Excactly what my son's experience last year. I was there all the time, while waiting for him to finish his session. sweat.gif

If that prone to overheat bike went wonky, they just hosed it with plenty of water to cooled it down rclxub.gif Seriously their bike trully beaten up. blink.gif

True, but I didn't know that when I signed up my son last year. sweat.gif bangwall.gif dang it. bangwall.gif

To comfort him, I told him, if you can 'master' that beaten up bikes, you'll definitely can ride any big bike. flex.gif

thanks for all the input~ but i didn't see any comment on Safety Driving Centre yet. Can anyone share the experiences in SDC?

Hmm as for Metro Subang, it actually quite far from my house, they do provide doorstep transportation though, the question is, is it reliable? I'm afraid their punctuality , "timing" will make me faint.

They are quite punctual... They use their own van to pick up their students. thumbup.gif That was last year though. sweat.gif

Well, if during the test the bike bogged down on its own then they will fail you. If a lembu decided to cross your path or crashed onto you, fail also. Yea get used to the bikes the school has since you cant choose which so you might be getting the most troublesome one. I train more than 6 hours really.

And yea ask them if you can bring your own helmet (standard open face with dd ring buckle, cap ms88 tu) because those buncha stinking sweaty provided bt the school maybe not to you liking.

After many comparison and thoughts, I've decided to go with Metro Driving at Kg. Subang.. The main reason is because of the JPJ test. I've went to SDC, they said that they have quota for student to go to JPJ test, which queue all the way till September blink.gif .. As Metro claimed that, no waiting list for final Practical JPJ Test (hope that is real).. Thanks for all the people who contributed their thoughts here~ Feel free to continue providing tips and advice for newbie like me ~ notworthy.gif thumbsup.gif

Congratz for your choice on the driving school!

I find it really hard to pass the titi bridge test(aka bridge of doom or as someone mentioned 7secs circus haha!), and a lot of people fail because of it even after weeks of practice.

You gotta get used to all 3 bikes and remember their characteristics, one of them is super heavy compared to the other two lol.

During the test in the morning make sure you warm up the engine if you're the first to ride because the bike that overheats and stalls (mentioned above ) will also stall when its not warmed up(even on Neutral ...ikr ..wtf lol).
The instructor even came and rev my engine when i was waiting for my turn coz the first guy failed just because it stalled lol.

I'm a bike noob too btw, no experience riding at all before this. I only posses a D CDL license and trying so hard to get B.

I do think they should give people a second chance for the bridge, compared to hill stop test for cars, this is way way harder XD.

Any tips from sifus here for the bridge? tqtq!

my experience @ imkeda gombak...

3 er6n, the bikes all tweaked so tht idling rpm is kinda higher than normal, therefore you can jz slip the clutch n the bike will move n go.
the clutch freeplay is set to more than max allowed. so you dont hv to release alot to slip. you can adjust this yourself once u r on the bike.

for titi, i think most leaner will try to go slowly on to the titi.
you dont hv to do that. you can ride faster to go up, so to set the right momentum. once both wheels are up on titi, u slow the bike down by using only the rear brake. in fact, dont use front brake at all for the whole jpj test course.
With rear brake on, u can slip the clutch if needed to give force to the rear wheel. Heavy bike like er6n is easier to balance at slow speed than a kapchai i think.

Another option is to use 2nd gear once on titi.
I forgot, i think er6n 2nd gear can move frm standstil?

Yah, no mater what, the blame will be on the candidate. JPJ is like that. They won't entertain any excuses. sweat.gif

At Metro... they give you brand new XDOT helmet. No worries about stinky helmet... biggrin.gif

JPJ quite relax during my son's test last year (good mood day perhaps). Not even counting that titi time rule. They even stop my son from finishing his "rutin sebelum memandu" whistling.gif . As long as you zoom without droping, then pass. Practice, practice and practise... all 3 bikes.

Not that difficult to pass. Just get used to that 3 bikes. Keep repeating the bridge. Before you go, zoom up and let the bike momentum rolled through. sweat.gif

I attended 2 class so far on the B Full, first class they insisted me to ride on the small bike 1st, second class only started to use big bike.. I must say it was very hard for me!! As for the titi/bridge, i never pass through, always fell from it.. I'm using the first gear all the time since they didn't asked me to switch gear.. I wanted to ask, will there be any difference for stability if i use 1st gear or 2nd gear on the titi? And for the other like cones, emergency breaking and 8 shape roundabout, it's better to use which gear? Thanks!

Learned this during course (titi/bridge) and improvised myself:
- use 1st gear to speed up slightly before going up titi/bridge (for stability)
- fixed on 1st gear, clutch level & rear brake then play with gas to control speed & stability. Over acceleration is fine as long as you're in control of the clutch & brake.
- eyes forward. Your bike will go where you look at. So, find a spot 10 meters ahead on level to your eyesight, NOT on the road.
(same applies to cone)

During titi:
- squeeze your leg/thigh onto the petrol tank
- sit up straight
- relax both hands

For emergency braking, if not mistaken, up until 3rd gear or within the acceptable speed (check with trainer).
8 shape, I use 2nd gear as it doesn't choke much. Don't forget to play with gas & clutch for comfortable speed and stability.

You should be comfortable with the bike you're riding (during practice) by taking it for a few rounds on the course. Take your time to "feel" your bike, get used to the manoeuvring and it'll be much more easier to go tit/bridge/cone/8 shape.

Get used to the bike first, clutch, throttle, gearing, etc. Don't worry. My son drop that ER6N twice on his first lesson. cry.gif You can ride around first rather than going through 'titi', slalom, etc.

Once I saw a young lady in burka (can see her oeyes only) learning on that ER6N too and she passed the test as well. No retest. thumbup.gif

Just be persistence. flex.gif

hi bro @DarkChronicle, I too had the same experience as you(same exact worries i had) and I always fall off the titiies lol.
Only until my 3rd class i managed to do it successfully and nobody taught me exactly how to do it, a fellow student i met there guided me on how to do it lol.

What worked for me was to start further away from the titi, eg:position your rear wheel on the yellow line.
The distance form the titi gave me more time to balance myself first and being able to zoom up(advice from @haturaya) before the titi with no fear.
1st gear was enough for me on all 3 bikes for the titi. For the emergency break, 2nd is enough and don't go too fast coz theres a lot of sand. For the rest just use 1st gear its already sufficient.

have lots of fun riding! wink.gif

@basilisk and @haturaya , thank you for your tips sifus! I've finally passed! yays! time for bike shopping with no GST hehehehhe!

hi bro @DarkChronicle, I too had the same experience as you(same exact worries i had) and I always fall off the titiies lol.
Only until my 3rd class i managed to do it successfully and nobody taught me exactly how to do it, a fellow student i met there guided me on how to do it lol.

hehe thanks! wink.gif

not sure yet, still thinking of my budget.

My ultimate dream bike is the gs but i dont have the budget to get one yet unless its the 310gs haha.

For now i'll either get a naked or full fairing.

I thought I could get the ninja 400 but too bad malaysia doesn't have it yet.

Then thought about the z300 or ninja 300, most likely i'll go with the naked bike.

heard a lot of stories about getting a 2nd hand 250 ninja which people say might get bored quick but its good for the budget.

what is your son riding at the moment? I wished my dad was cool like u haha wink.gif

I believe you're still young, no worries, go slow & steady. Plenty of bikes to choose from. biggrin.gif

My brother use Z250 as his work bike. Had been travelling up to Penang for his work. thumbup.gif He got it 2nd hand for RM14k (if I'm not mistaken) with very low mileage 10k km++. Already fully accesorised with Rezoma handlebar, foot pegs, etc. thumbup.gif

As for my son? He's been riding beaten up Honda Future & el cheapo bicycle sweat.gif, living in hostel. He's finishing up his uni's foundation program. If he's home for holiday he'll use my PCX or Rebel 500. biggrin.gif

hearsay.

you buy bike or other people buy bike?

i ride a R25 and i have never even once thought of selling it. at most adding another liter bike in my garage but of course due to practicality and budget constraints that's left in the back burner/bucket list.

modern 250cc sportbikes are pretty fast already, here are some numbers:
0-100 within 5-7 seconds
180+ kph top speed on leveled terrain
190+ kph top speed on downhill rev limiter pinging at 14.5k rpm.

the 3 performance lines above can easily send you straight to hospital or god forbid a coffin.

Well, i have a very mixed feeling about metro.. pj or puchong cannot remember which 1 lah, basically the very secluded 1.

I went around 2017 Sep/Oct/Nov i think? - only have 2 er6n bike, and a shitload of students, basically for the whole morning (9am onwards) i just get to ride 1 or maybe 2 rounds if lesser people and it's already lunchtime break...

i only managed to ride 3-5 rounds of the practice course before i said fk it and register myself for JPJ test. Luckily pass, i cannot bare going through that shit anymore.

4 star for all the receptionist/paperwork/instructors etc, as i never even rode a ex5/scooter my whole life - and the instructor told me the no bullshit need-to-know only, and after a cumulative 2hours(?1 lap 20minit? actually not even 2 hrs maybe) of practice, i got my B full. Total time spent is 2months.

That says alot about our standard for passing a driving license huh.

Just go inside office, go to the counter and say you are coming for BFull class..
Give them your IC, and they will ask you to scan thumbprint. That's it!
Just one time when you arrived, after you finish class, you don't need to do the thumbprint to go back..

Heh, even if you save now on licence like just pay 200, sure enough you'll lose the saving on the bike and accessories.

Don’t hole the handle too tight. Relax and twist the throttle. When your bike move forward, the steering will always be straight

hi guys, currently I'm taking this package with MDA @ Puchong.

- renew my L for B-class @ JPJ Padang Jawa (6 months - RM40) last week. Remember to bring along 1 piece of passport photo (white background) for L licence slip. Skipped the KPP01 (phewww...)

- register online at MD website, took the RM1000 package.

- paid RM500, received free helmet (X-Dot) & safety jacket.

- already done 2 days of full training (KPP02 & KPP03). Looking forward for another practice session before 20th September 2018.

- booked for JPJ test on 21st September 2018.

wish me luck guys!

The bike will point to or the opposite way of the pressure applied on the handlebar plus the upset weight of the bike will throw the balancing off the optimum position. With Binelli tnt600 I just tuck the gear in 2nd and let it 'cruise' on and off the bumps. First the speed and the second one the uneven pressure on the handlebar. Maybe the third is your body balance is off so the bike reacted as is.

i think you need to check with JPJ for clarification. i don't see any issue for converting Australia to Malaysia motorbike license (for Commonwealth countries) but better check with JPJ first.

Why not just go for the Bfull test? I assume you already paid for the Bfull, would be a waste if you just settle with B2.

The S curve has been changed to Z curve. So instead of turn once and follow the S now need to turn 3 times.

appreciated all sifus sharing experience, finally i pass my jpj test on this friday cool2.gif

my turn to sharing experience at metro puchong.

i register B full on 8/18, pass jpj test on 10/5 (taking about 1.5 months)

i taking the RM1000 package (i don't have B2 licence)
(it's all included, 3 chances theory test/jpj test until pass/transport service/helmet/vest/food during the course)
(ps. metro driver always pickup me on time thumbup.gif )

about practice course, i just taking 4 half day classes, half day maybe can practice 3 or 4 times.
for my experience
TT - look straight, control the clutch, use rear brake
emergency brake - i just shift to second gear only, use front and rear brake.
bumping road - when at the last 3 or 4 bumper, i will use clutch in case engine stall.
8 shape - use clutch maintain the speed.
Z shape - same like 8 shape.

last thing to says,
don't forget giving the signal light during the jpj test
don't forget giving the signal light during the jpj test

signup for package like Metro.

- renew your L B Full at JPJ
- register at Metro
- start learning riding B Full bikes at Metro (Thursday, Saturday & Sunday) for both KPP02 & KPP03
- once the trainer satisfy with your performance, register / book the slot for JPJ test
- JPJ test in 2-weeks basis at Metro Puchong, only on Friday

i taking the RM1000 package (i don't have B2 licence)
(it's all included, 3 chances theory test/jpj test until pass/transport service/helmet/vest/food during the course)
(ps. metro driver always pickup me on time thumbup.gif )

about practice course, i just taking 4 half day classes, half day maybe can practice 3 or 4 times.
for my experience
TT - look straight, control the clutch, use rear brake
emergency brake - i just shift to second gear only, use front and rear brake.
bumping road - when at the last 3 or 4 bumper, i will use clutch in case engine stall.
8 shape - use clutch maintain the speed.
Z shape - same like 8 shape.

last thing to says,
don't forget giving the signal light during the jpj test
don't forget giving the signal light during the jpj test
don't forget giving the signal light during the jpj test

*
Congratulations thumbup.gif

Time to upgrade to bigger bike whistling.gif

Dragged so long i finally pass too!! ( first attempt)
Thank you sifus for all the useful tips!!
Share my experiences in Metro Subang.
- Recommended to attend training afternoon (2pm), morning session is too packed.. Have to wait very long for your turn!
- Instructor here don't teach much, no need rely on them.
- B Full privilege, remember call them for transport to doorstep!! (the price is already include doorstep transport, if don't utilize then sayang la)
- 3 Big bikes to ride, with different configurations. Get use to all of them if you can, as this suggested by many people here. (1 clutch loose, 1 bad breaking, 1 throttle loose, 1 release clutch a bit will move already while another release clutch so much only start moving, 1 handle Senget, 1 side mirror loose, 1 overheat will stall and so on)
- 11am and 5pm session end, transport will requires you to wait till 12pm and 6pm, if can't wait can go to the nearest bus stop to wait for bus 772, it will go to LRT stations
JpJ test:
- 2 pengawai sitting in front of the vending machine to observe. (they don't move)
- from my observation, they only put full attention on titi / plank part only, after that like not much attention even did little mistake they can't see haha..
- RPM, rutin pemeriksaan motorsikal, this one is even more funny, they didn't look or listen at all. No need to stress about this at all..

Trying to list out things that didn't mention by others haha~ Thank you for all the participants in this thread!!! I Hope people who is undergoing or plan to take soon, all the best and always welcome to ask anything heree, there are many helpful bros here!!

Once, thanks again all~

Congratulations.
I am still considering whether to take B full. I’m B2 and thinking of upgrading to bigger ADV bike.
Will they let you know about each bike’s configurations or you have to find out yourself?

you need to test ride all bikes available there.
if Subang got 3, Puchong got 2, use them all...
each bike have their own pros & cons...
clutch setting (short / long throw), handle balanced (tegak / senget), throttle response (fast / lazy), etc.
get familiar with the bikes, then you should know how to handle it during KPP02 & KPP03...
take your time, your 1st class they will ask you to use the B2 bikes (Honda EX-5) for familiarization...
once you OK, they will allow you to use the big bike for learning...

Hi Sir, sorry want to ask how long did it take your son to book and sit for his first practical class KPP02 with Metro? I just completed my theory test and to my surprise I am on the wait list for practical classes KPP02 for 1 month. Is the wait generally that long everywhere or is it just my driving academy in segambut fully booked?

It took me 2 month to sit into kpp02, now JPJ restrict number of student when doing Kpp02. Academy only allowed to take 20++ per session, one day 2 session max. That's what happen in my place.

Yea! I’m going through same prob man, so much demand for classes but only 2 bikes, and fully booked at this academy for 1 month +. Everywhere else also is like this?

Honestly if I knew I would have double check when can get the practical class first before paying half, they kept telling me can take theory and exam ASAP which I paid and sat 6 hour course and exam within same week. Now practical have to wait super long

Only Kpp02 briefing need to wait, after briefing like 9hours (2 days), you can go practice anytime you want. After 3 time practice, total 6 hours, can register pre-test, then JPJ test. Once you finish kpp02 briefing, can finish remaining like 2 weeks I think.
I currently riding with license L. No rush to go practice and test. Coz academy is always full of ppl.
I met and chat with ppl there few times, they told me mostly being there waiting for bike. Too many ppl, too little bike available. Better I use my own bike practice till confident.

Metro got branch at Segambut? I thought only at Puchong and Subang. At Puchong end of last year there's no waiting list. After you got your L licence can straight away start practical class. Only thing at Puchong have 3 days per week for practice motorbike.. Saturday, Sunday and Thursday. Got 2 sessions per day.. morning and evening. Evening session have less people than morning one.
