Paris 2024 Olympics - Badminton Semi Final matches on CH784 and CH787

The one showing on CH784 is the correct feed that the viewers should be watching.
The one showing on CH787 appears to be the alternate feed showing another camera angles, and it has no audio.

Both are live broadcasts from the same badminton court.

If you don't want to get confused, you can still watch it on Astro Arena 801 in Malay commentary audio.

Have you try unplug the power supply of your Ulti Box, then plug it back to power on?
These are the basic troubleshooting that needs to be done whenever there's funny issues like these happening on Astro boxes.

The one showing on CH783 and CH788 is the correct feed that the viewers should be watching. Oddly this time, CH783 and CH788 appears to be showing the exact same thing, like duplicating a broadcast.

The one showing on CH785 is the alternate feed showing either live, or some slow-mo and highlights from different/various camera angles of that match, and the availability of audio are not guaranteed. You may notice that sometimes it has audio, sometimes doesn't. This is inherent from the Olympics broadcast, not Astro's fault or your Astro box problem, so don't feel alarmed.

All 3 channels are live broadcasts from the same badminton court.

If you don't want to get confused, you can still watch it on Astro Arena 801 in Malay commentary audio.

EDIT: Soon after the Badminton Woman Single match ended, CH783 cuts to commercial (always starts with Shopee ads), while CH788 continued showing as-is, where I get to see some highlights and the wide view of the stadium.

Nice, if there's any duplicate channels like this (CH783 and CH788), I'll watch the one with a higher channel number (CH788).

While on CH785, I can see the Gold medalist (South Korea) goes to backstage, seeing her hugging with her teammates with tears, get to see their crew members, some surroundings people walking around the backstage, etc.

You mean now let's say you're watching CH801, then out of nowhere, it suddenly it jumps to another channel that you frequently watch (e.g. CH306)?
I never experience such thing as "randomly jumping from one channel to another" whenever I'm watching... sweat.gif

By any chance, did you "Add to Favourites" of those channels you mentioned earlier (306, 333, 801...)?
If yes, try remove ALL of your Favourites Channels, then see if issue persists.

And, your Ultra Box is connected using WiFi or LAN?

I believe you've done those basic troubleshootings, right? Reboot box, reboot WiFi router, etc.

You can check the list of your Favourites channels you've added, by opening the TV Guide, then press green button to "Filter", then navigate to "Favourites Channels".

If you see the ā¤ļø (heart) symbol near the channel logo of your TV Guide there, it means this channel has added to Favourites.
In that screen, you press left arrow button on Astro remote, which it'll hover at the channel logo/number section, then press OK, then you'll see a popup which has the "Remove from Favourite" option.
Remove all of the channels one by one.

Secondly, is your Ultra Box experiences sudden disconnection of WiFi network when that happens? If your router is not too far from your Ultra Box, then just connect LAN cable to your router instead.

You contacted Astro and they say that as long as you replace your existing "problematic" Ultra Box into a new Ultra Box, your 24 months contract will be restarted, even though you still have an ongoing contract, is that what they told you?

Don't give up hope yet. There's some troubleshooting steps you could try...
If you've checked and you never added any favourites channel, OR you've removed all favourites channels, yet issue persists, try this:

1) On the "Who's Watching Astro?" screen, try create a new profile, and then use it only on your Ultra Box. Don't share the profile with other Ulti/Ultra Boxes under your Astro account with other family members or anyone else, including Astro GO.
Observe for couple of days, and see if issue persists.

2) If persists, try clear NVRAM

So you didn't actually contact Astro, and just assume that contract will be extended if you replace your suspected faulty Ultra Box to a new one, correct?

Did you newly sign up as new customer, or you upgraded your older Astro box to this one?

Would you be interested to opt for satellite dish installation? It's not too late yet though, cuz it's just 1 week...
Or you don't want or cannot opt for satellite dish installation due to some reasons?

Just box upgrade only? During that process, you didn't request to change anything else, correct?

As what I know, the only possible reasons that your Astro Rewards tier will reset to Magenta is:
- Your Astro account were previously terminated, and then eventually you activate it back
- You request to transfer ownership

I assume that your Astro account was never previously terminated, and then you eventually activate it back...
Then upgrading your Astro box should NOT impact your Astro Rewards tier.
I suspect there might be some error handling on their end, which resulted your Astro Rewards tier to reset to Magenta.

Customer service call centre agent providing inaccurate/wrong information is not something new actually. It happens from time to time.
I suggest you write an email to wecare@astro.com.my, include your account details in the email, and ask them to explain what happened and fix the mistake.
Let them reply you back in black and white.

Previously what was your Astro Rewards tier, before it becomes Magenta now?

You have rebooted your WiFi router, and still persists, right?

Once it reaches the 6 min mark as you mentioned, loading cursor appears, then how long it takes for it to be able to continue watching?
Or the loading cursor just stuck there and won't load anymore? If yes, then what do you do to make it watchable again? Tune to other channel, then tune back to the channel you were watching?

Try turn on your mobile hotspot, connect that WiFi hotspot on your Ultra Box, then try stream Astro linear channels using your mobile data for a while to see if the buffering occurs.
Of course, provided if your 4G/5G network in your area is good, and your mobile plan has no speed cap...

Check the condition of your satellite cable, especially the F connector there. Make sure it is secured correctly.
If it is too loose and easily pulled out, then the cable will need to be re-terminated.

If you press "home" button, and you get to see the On Demand library screen:
1) Do you still see the entire TV screen goes black intermittently?
2) Or, you notice that the TV channel is still playing in the background, but "suddenly no sound for 1 second, then it comes back" while the On Demand home screen still appear as usual?

You perform speed tests on your own devices (not on Ulti/Ultra Box), and able to reach your subscribed speeds, right?

Since the main account is under your relative's, rather than your own, then getting after sales service support will become difficulties and complicated...
Cuz if contacting customer service, generally, only the account owner is allowed to file a report on this issue (unless there's some authorisation letter is provided to them or something...).

Why did you or your relative opted for Plug & Play for the Multiroom box?
I mean, did you not aware that you will be bound to experience intermittent buffering issue like this if you opt for Plug & Play? Or you initially thought that it isn't a big deal?

Can you confirm that this intermittent buffering issue doesn't occur when you stream it via 4G/5G mobile data (e.g. through WiFi hotspot from your phone)?

Also, does your current house has Astro dish that was previously installed? Or the house never install Astro dish before? Or you're living in a condo that doesn't allow Astro dish installation?

Astro Olympics channels CH787 until CH795 has been removed from the channel list. CH780 and CH786 still remains, showing all the highlights and repeats.

It's a once in every 4 years opportunity get to see Astro creates tens of dedicated channels, and first time ever, I get to see their "additional content" like slow-mo, backstage, scenary, and also the pretty unexpected standby slides and countdown timer from OBS itself. šŸ˜‚

It's been a great experience tbh...

Not exactly all 10.
I notice CH780 until CH784 is being "actively managed" to cut to commercials, as well as arranging programming schedule for highlights and repeats, while CH785 until CH794 is "almost unattended" and commercial-free (this one I like thumbup.gif )

They made the 10 channels (CH780-789) to available across all Astro boxes (regardless of satellite or Plug & Play) as well as Multiroom Smart TV. So yeah, you can only watch CH790-794 live on Astro GO.

The most prominent advertisers who booked their commercial spots throughout this Olympics is the Shopee 8.8 and Apple (Safari browser) ads. It's like almost every single commercial break will have this 2 ads, while Shopee is obviously the biggest sponsor this time (I can see the brand placement on Astro Arena in-studio set up, as well as keep repeating the same ad within the same commercial break).
