Actually I asked many staff especially supervisors.  Nothing wrong with their terminal, if it accepts paywave then it works.  Its nothing technical, just "maangement decision".  I don't accuse if I haven't done the groundwork and trying to figure out.  There are many who would appreciate the education that their terminal have more functions that they know.  I also wont be an apologist for lousy management decision.  Trust me - if you are in management, and you make your customers not happy without a good reason - its a lousy management decision.  Period.
*
Not only that.. I encountered issue when trying to use at Marks and Spencer, namely Sunway Velocity branch. What the story they told me is the payment went thru on thep phone, but not their terminal and no paper came out from the terminal. End up they "call" the customer to chase the money. So they use many excuse to "Reject" my SPay request. When I ensure them that if no paper come out, i will tap again.. they only allow me to use it..
Some give reason like RM10 only can use bla bla bla..

another reason i think some shop "refused" it because they cant "tally" the card number, since SPay is using Virtual No. Some POS system need to manually key the card number. (well. by right, they should not keep our card no... but... ) so there is 1 shop refused my Spay request.. EcoShop. (RM2 Shop) , only Card Paywave accepted.

Not sure when started.. but seems like Maybank has increased the debit card paywave limit to RM1000/daily...
It used to be RM250, right?

Yup .. It was.. I did remember I called Maybank and they told me that there is no way to increase the limit.. 250 per day and i need to use PIN to "reset" my daily paywave limit. But i tried to pay RM100 same card and able to use it for 3 time same day. So i believe they did increased the limited.

Tried to pay at Jaya Grocer @ The Starling, after I tapped my phone on the MBB terminal, the terminal rebooted itself, tapped again, it rebooted again  laugh.gif

Then the cashier pulled out a CIMB terminal from her drawer to let me try again and it worked this time around.

Absolute genius by Samsung to out smart those who manipulate the system in the past. I guess trying to live up to the Knox, military grade security protection 😅
This is a first hearing about merchant terminal reboot upon tapping/wave.

Am quite sure it's not an issue with your phone/SPay but the terminal itself. Luckily the cashier was patient and had access to another terminal 👍👍
*
Is it this kind of machine? https://www.verifone.com/en/us/devices/coun...pin-pads/vx-520 with color screen?
I have encountered the similar issue with the Hong Leong Bank Terminal used in Giant and Color Storage. It restarts itself after i tapped, thus i asked the cashier to use CIMB Terminal and it went thru without restarting.

Thus I requested to use the CIMB terminal, and it works.

It seem like there's a problem with Samsung Pay. Failed in Guardian Publika. The cashier said these few days none of Samsung Pay go through. Ok when using physical card.

Guardian uses CIMB right?

My problem so far is with PBB terminals. Today made purchase at Watsons and Aeon using Samsung Pay, no problem.
*
Giant and Guardian are mostly Heong Leong Bank Terminal, they started to phased out CIMB Terminal if you notice

AMEX is kinda impossible because AMEX doesn't support paywave in Malaysia.

SPay need cards that support paywave.

Frankly, if AMEX can be set into SPay, my points confirm got a lot already.
*
QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Sep 19 2019, 09:09 AM)
So sorry to hear that Bro. After being issued the new card, seem like it's safe to narrow down the problem to PBB merchant terminal. I hope you still have the patience to call and provide feedback to PBB CS so they may look deeper into rectifying this issue. Mean time, just steer clear of PBB merchants when attempting to use SPay.
Yeah, unfortunately them not supporting paywave or contactless payment is the sad part. I was also hoping to rake up points with the AMEX if they were to have it on SPay. Great minds think alike. Still being wishful, one fine day they would make it happen.
*
QUOTE(confuzan @ Sep 19 2019, 12:51 PM)
Amex already supports contactless payment in Malaysia. Newly issued AMEX cards by MBB have contactless feature.

Most MCD terminals can accept Amex contactless payment, including self service kiosk. I have also tried Amex contactless with a cimb terminal in isetan KL.

However, I think it is still not widespread enough for spay to adopt it though.
*
Due to the acceptance of AMEX is "low" compare with VISA & Mastercard in Malaysia.
In US, AMEX is supported in Samsung Pay

Disable Fingerprint Authentication in your Boost App, it should work.. I have encountered the same issue. Apparently if you have registered 3 FingerPrints into your Samsung phone , it will trigger this error.

Removed fingerprint authentication from Boost App allows me to add Boost in Samsung Pay.  thumbup.gif

But when I tried to enable fingerprint authentication back in Boost App afterwards, it failed to do so even I had keyed in the correct PIN.
*
It is the same issue, more than 5 biometric authentication. That is why disable fingerprint in Boost app to make room for Samsung Pay.

Samsung has never intended to implement Samsung Pay just for it rewards, the intention was so that people would only need to carry just their phones that allows one to perform cashless payments.

I feel like people who use Samsung Pay just for its rewards should rethink it, the intention of Samsung Pay is mangled.
*
AGREE with you. It is also the selling point of Samsung Phone. I brought my first Samsung phone because of Samsung Pay and it was just launched in Malaysia.. It is convenient for me so i can bring less cards with me, i put my membership card inside too. To me, Rewards is something extra and good to have.

If you started using spay like some of us, just to convince merchant to allow us to use spay already like a battle.  Since samsung killed Samsung pay I just use cash.
*
HAHA... Convince merchant to accept SamsungPay is not easy when i started to use it when SamsungPay just launched. Recall those day MR DIY "banned" using SamsungPay. it is just a medium for Contactless Payment.

Last year samsung buds have an update and causes this bug,
you need to bring your buds to Samsung Center - walk in / appointment in Samsung Members
and get them reset - takes 2-3 hour.

my buds+ are the same, right buds cant be detected at all.
Had it reset Dec 2020,now back to normal.

Will it be better if I visit one of the branches instead? I dislike calling and being put on hold  cry.gif
*
haha.. no point to go Branchs for this since they dont have the access to help you to reset this soft token. Call to Call Center is the only way.. It was issue for me too and so just make sure you reset your Samsung Pay or remove your card from your previous device before add to new device..
