Do I have any obligation to collect or pay sales, VAT, or other transaction taxes based on transactions I engage in in the Community Market?
Different countries have different rules relating to the taxation of digital transactions. Most jurisdictions do not require individuals to register for, collect or pay sales taxes, VAT or use taxes in connection with occasional sales where they do not qualify as "professional" sellers. However, the ultimate responsibility for determining any tax requirements that may apply to sales you make in the Community Market rests with you. If you are concerned or have further questions about this issue, please consult your own tax advisor. Note: With respect to our administrative fee, if any sales, VAT, or other taxes are due on that payment, we will be responsible for paying those taxes.

Most likely games only will have the price increase , not the steam market  console.gif

so valve tax one and PH tax one again? double tax for each item that sell in market?

Then for other things like adobe cloud (eg. RM222 per month), if this also get tax, it will be very hard for those freelancer or company that using it.

I still remember last time najib say india (GST 20% or 25%?) ppl still not complain while we "only 6% GST" ppl already complain so don't tell me PH gov going to follow those 20%-25% tax for this internet service/product.

buying items from valve ingame store will have tax, sames as buying steam games

take example csgo crate key cost rm10 each now, after the tax apply say 10% it would cost rm11 for each key

on the selling part donno yet, we might have to resummit the tax form in order to start selling items on steam market

I doubt the price would go higher but i feel that it would be a bigger cut from the selling price ,
eg if csgo key costs 10 , 10% of 10RM would go to tax, and 10% of 10RM goes to steam? I dunno how much steam charges, never mind it's 15% steam charges.
So basically 25% of your value would be either added , or taken away
So with the assumed sales tax of 10%
Aka if you want to sell at 1 rm , customer pays 1.25
if you want customer to buy at 1rm , you will get 75 sens

it should be the 1% cross-border fee, it was charged by bank, not by Steam.
chances to be charged seems very high if using CIMB card.

Steam bug allowed unlimited free downloads

A man has been given $20,000 (£15,500) for discovering a bug in the Steam video games store that let people download any game for free.

Security researcher Artem Moskowsky found a flaw in Steam's portal for games developers that let anybody generate licence keys without paying.

Millions of people use Steam to buy and download games on PC and Mac computers.

Mr Moskowsky told Steam owner Valve about the bug and it awarded him the money as part of its bug bounty scheme.

Many companies reward people who privately disclose security problems so they can be fixed, rather than sharing the information online.

Mr Moskowsky told news site the Register that he discovered the problem by accident when exploring the Steam partner portal.

The portal lets game studios generate licence keys for their software, so they can give a copy to fans or journalists to review.

But he found that modifying the request let anybody generate thousands of codes for any game they wanted. These could theoretically be sold online on the black market.

"I managed to bypass the verification of ownership of the game by changing only one parameter," he told the Register.

Valve awarded him $15,000 and a $5,000 bonus for making the private disclosure. The flaw has since been fixed.

Valve said an investigation of its logs did not show that anybody had exploited the bug.
