so no matter you buy from taobao/alibaba/amazon/ebay/steam/origin/gog/paypal.....

All kena tax?

If buy something from internet using paypal, will taxed both seller site and paypal? double tax? (same when using wechat pay to buy online thing?)
dunno trade in steam include card and item also got tax or not. Steam already tax one for trading, if harapan also tax one, that will be 2 tax for 1 trade. Really money face.
*
Haha doubt they will go that far 2 tax all transactions not in RM laugh.gif

All 3 is because all 3 already had RM transactions while rest of site still in USD RMB

Basically every time you make a transaction on Steam for digital goods/services, you will be taxed a certain amount. Same thing with value-added tax (VAT) in the UK, Europe and certain oceanic countries where people in such places have to pay VAT for every transaction made unless it's exempted.

so valve have to collect tax for gov?
show them the account for malaysia sales?

Yes if it's required by laws and regulations from that particular government of that country or state, else Valve won't be able to do business here locally and would be consider an illegal business entity by the government.

Don't be that low. As if you can't buy any games for a cheap price on sale. Even on launch GMG has a better price for pre-ordering than Steam also, so many alternatives.

Don't know how many %, either 3% 6% 10% or 30%?
Our region price advantage no more except those publisher/developer willing to cut abit to balance the price back after tax.

558 card drops remaining
164 games with drops remaining

ASF seems to do solo farming than multigame farm like idlemaster.
Idlemaster doesn't connect to steam and i'm trying to find a workaround it.
Please finish all card drops before 2020 biggrin.gif

Actually I wonder if we will be taxed, or just on Valve's end..

Because... other countries like in the US or EU, doesn't get taxed.. Funny our government.

Yeah my conclusion was when i asked my friend's from the US, and other EU countries not listed for taxed in there.
Interesting enough, I ask my Netherlands friend, he didn't say got any tax, inclusive I guess. He just didn't notice.
20%+ lol.. what a joke. Guess can consider to retire gaming in 2020. laugh.gif

Since I mostly buy games on day 1 when a review is out, and rarely any games on sale this days, this is not good news for me. Hoping GMG or whatever other alternative can ease the pain, or yeah play on other platform that doesn't get taxed.

Also this will be interesting as well. The prices for physical games vs digital.

If not mistaken , steam checks when you have crossed a certain limit on steam trading by selling , and then initiate the collection , at one point i had to show i wasn't a us citizen ^.^
the govt hasn't clarified on how they'll proceed to collect the tax which is why even steam is not announcing anything so far yet.
It seems to be most likely on games sold in malaysia rather than the market ,

It will most likely effect all if not only just games. But it's happening sadly. Personally if the game is 20% or more expensive, I might just stop gaming on PC since most of the games are digitally bought, and non is bringing any physical copies in. Console gaming is very budget friendly and you can sell it back after you're done. laugh.gif Kinda don't mind this days. Graphic card like RTX is double the price, ram is more expensive, and later our games also more expensive. Sounds like a calling.

Maybe should move somewhere else, Malaysia going down the drain laugh.gif

Do I have any obligation to collect or pay sales, VAT, or other transaction taxes based on transactions I engage in in the Community Market?
Different countries have different rules relating to the taxation of digital transactions. Most jurisdictions do not require individuals to register for, collect or pay sales taxes, VAT or use taxes in connection with occasional sales where they do not qualify as "professional" sellers. However, the ultimate responsibility for determining any tax requirements that may apply to sales you make in the Community Market rests with you. If you are concerned or have further questions about this issue, please consult your own tax advisor. Note: With respect to our administrative fee, if any sales, VAT, or other taxes are due on that payment, we will be responsible for paying those taxes.

Most likely games only will have the price increase , not the steam market console.gif
