» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « oooo I didnt know u cover Johor haha. yeah I didnt work today. I had mental fatigue after so many days working endlessly lol. Tbh, I was really scared a bit when I read the news. Just not too long ago I had an ordeal when for a week I cannot work cuz of the document check from uber thinghy, now this. seriously I think the government is doing this wrong. Instead of asking taxi driver where grab did wrong, they should ask citizens why did they stopped taking taxis. Only then will the truth be revealed, and we absolutely have no contributions at all to their demise. taxi drivers dug their own grave for being an organized gangster group like pekida yo. |

QUOTE(shyghost @ Jul 13 2018, 01:32 PM) JB Maharaja in action! NOOOOOOOOO lol... not everyday got raining gold la hahaha"many days working endlessly" translate to or equal to Daily RM300 Gross Fare + RM100 Incen... Right? I know I'm right... Correct kan? Really geng la u... Eh... From RM500 per week now you hit RM2k per week consistently? Your story just like rags to riches chronicle ... Your skill reli super powderful la nowadays... Hall famer and Legend oredi u... I agree PH asked the wrong ppl to answer or to solve the ehailing issue. Shud ask the rakyat maa... but I tried to make sure at least im making RM300 gross eevryday, or RM200 minimum nett profit on bad day, I returned to my baseline RM150 nett profit for that day. incentive-wise, I dont count on it. If I get it, I get it, if not, what to do haha. I just consider it as a bonus tbh I was just working hard because I spent my money during raya lol. I have an army of nieces and nephews XD... I returned to KL late too because flight ticket became super expensive, so I was lagging behind on bills. I worked 1 week like a zombie so I could cover my rent. Now im taking some rest hahaha |

QUOTE(wat3r @ Jul 15 2018, 11:26 PM) Congratulation on making a turnaround! I actually read every single posts in this thread and it's been helpful and motivation to me since I am a new Grab driver as well. iTS GOOD TO SEE OUR COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCES IN HERE IS PROving beneficial to new drivers!Any tips on what accessorises you provided in your car or what you did during the rider with rider so that they will rate you 5 star? My DR has been between 4.5-4.7 which will disqualify me from HG, so I need help. Tried to strike short conversation with riders but mostly prefer to be quiet or just short replies. I am trying to improve myself in making conversation as well. I drive a basic saga blm, everything is original and vanilla lol. the only upgrade I put for my car is a good tinted that I installed during raya promotion. most of the time, riders just wanna get to their destination. it doesnt matter what you have as car accessories. as for conversation or social interactions, my only advice is to try to test the waters first with conversation starter such as the traffic, weather, or god forbid, politics lol. from there you can move on and decide whether rider is interested in chatting or not. sometimes u can see the rider is tired and they sit at the back or next to you. if theyre not responding well to conversation dont force them. along the ride, sneak a peek at them and assess the situation. if they look sleepy and wanted to rest, turn down the volume of your radio. start to drive a bit slowly. drive in a way that wont wake your rider up when they fall asleep. keep in mind that as a driver, work-wise or not, your passengers life is literally in your hands. have some responsibility. as for rating, heres a newsflash I learnt the hard way lol. my rating has gone down for as low as 4.86 the lowest, but I noticed this happens only when Im taking breaks from work for extended time, like 1 week or 2 weeks (like during that raya period)... also, keep in mind that theres always a passenger that rated you maybe 1 star, but sometimes its not because of you. they rated you 1 star because they hated grab company in general i.e pricy fare, slow pickup, even bad traffic on the road they will blame you. just keep in mind that these kinds of things happened. life isnt fair. but remember, we in the service industry gets better with tolerance and patience. theres a reason why people chose grab than taxi, keep up the standard, and youll be good to go. oh also, you should be able to earn at least several hundred a week, investing a mere RM10 to clean outside and inside your car once per week wont dent your wallet. just a little advice lol if theres anything else that I missed, or can help, do ask. try not to pm me or anyone in here, because like how it happened to you, I hope by keeping our discussion open to public, itll help more drivers in the future. they can learn from our experience in here I started in GRAB the hard way and all alone, no support, nothing. as from what you can read from the thread. so I learnt most of my experience the hard way. but I learnt them all nonetheless lol |

fuck the riders lol. I listen to any station I wanna listen to lol
most of the time I tune in to lite, cuz driving for long hours listening to "modern" music can be quite stressful. lite at least has real music from the golden eras yo. at certain intervals, I changed station and listen to news. depending on the news, Ill raise the volume. this usually how a conversation started between me and the riders. afterwards, its just soft skills |

QUOTE(colemi @ Jul 19 2018, 02:53 PM) I just lost my job and register to grab, will make my first run hopefully on this weekend, hope to learn more from the sifu here. thank you! hahahaha what shyghost said is totally true XDanyway I will gantung kunci temporarily from tomorrow. I kena surprise buttsecks at gotong haha gotta go to workshop and repair my bumper. thankfully cuz im the victim, I can claim insurance I learned a super important piece of knowledfe today when conversing with the traffic officer at IPD. if you intend to claim insurance during accident, make sure that nowhere in the report says youre transporting a rider. just say u have no passenger, done deal. if insurance knows u had accident when transporting passenger, no claim for you. bye bye lol... this is because ur insurance is personal, if accident happens when youre transporting passenger, it becomes commercial. hope this helps guys! **edit: if you wanna make insurance claim, do not mention GRAB/UBER/E-HAILING of any kind whatsoever that in any way suggest a nature of service. if occupation is full time driver, just say ure unemployed or penjual burger or whatever. nothing that can link you to grab or e-hailing. Im lucky my guy can settle everything ahhaha This post has been edited by Artak: Jul 20 2018, 03:56 PM |

im finally a bit free haha...
apparently theres more and more new grab driver registering these days. To those who have been motivated by this thread I made with a totally different reason in the first place, to what it is right now - kudos to you guys hahaha if theres any questions at all, feel free to ask in here. I received a lot of pm's asking for tips or just general questions, but I always redirect everyone back to this thread. the thing is, just like you yourself, if whatever it is that we discussed in here have directly or indirectly influenced or help you in doing grab more efficiently, I would like to keep it that way. I prefer we keep all communications in here so that whatever current issues that we discussed, it will benefit future drivers I had a bad start yesterday. Started the day off with my phone barred, cuz I forgot to pay the bills lol. I had to get back inside and wait till 10am for malls to open so I can pay up bills. what a waste of time lol I officially started job at 11am yesterday but due to other reasons, I had to quit early with a nett profit of rm20 around 5pm. ah well... today morning, My first trip was to KLIA. I shouted for joy lol. first trip already got RM65 XD Once I reached KLIA, for the first time ever, I got ANOTHER trip from KLIA to Kajang! Thats another RM65 consecutively! So I took the guy out to to his hotel, and what do you know, once he got there he told me hes got no money lol. Hes got only Euro currency in his wallet, and the time was like 8.30am... so I just decided Id help him go to a currency exchange place, but not after I "dropped" him off first at the hotel on grab apps. so we started moving back and forth looking for currency exchange, then helped him get a local sim card, set it up, take him to breakfast because he said he w to thank me, yada yada... so, about 10am or so, I already made RM200 clean profit or so minus petrol. that guy also gave me some tip for helping him on top of the grab fare hehe Today started off great, and I decided im gonna take a break for today, and for once, im gonna take it easy... maybe ill go to buy some grocery shopping or so haha how have you guys been? for the new drivers, any trouble so far? btw, I have tip, or maybe not tip. just a guy I can call and share his contact info with you guys in case you guys are involved with any road accident while doing grab (or during personal drive)... this guy helped me last time when I was hit from behind on highway while doing grab and the guy destroyed my bumper. totalled it... What I did was make a police report, and leave the rest to him. I only spoke to him once, when Im giving him all the necessary documents on friday. saturday/sunday off day, on tuesday I already got call from workshop telling me my car has finished repairs and urged me to go get it. I bullshit you not guys, the guy helped me claim insurance and sent my car to a workshop that does this claim, and I got my car back less than a week! (or technically, just in 2 days because were only counting working days) |

I believe him. but I also know driving for that long hours is extremely taxing.
also, if u look around singapore stomp site, u will find out they have a lot of issues with grab/uber driver. extreme regulations, harassments, whatnot. |

QUOTE(awongck @ Sep 13 2018, 10:36 PM) Wow this thread has been a real life saver. I'll be doing my own thing next month. This old unker gonna give up on office life and try to have a more peaceful life grabbing. Anyone alpha wanna help me with registration? hey there. my advice if youve already got a steady thing going on for you, dont throw it away too simply. grab might be profitable, but grab doesnt give you security as much as what a steady career can give you. try to do it as part time first, instead of jumping on it all the way. test the water first. take it from me, I fell hard on rock bottom first few months I did grab. these peoples and sifus helped me get back on my feet and for that im eternally thankful. grab is profitable as a temporary source of income, but just remember, the administration can afford to slash off any driver if they feel like it.well, they are pros and cons, but in case, make you decision wisely. whatever you choose, im sure you have a strong motivation and reason as to why you make the decision that you will make, be it a life crossroads, or simply familial obligation. all the best to you! |
