If it me, i will change to other sc. Typical sc, some are known to only good at normal service but k.o of warranty parts/repair. Some are good at both.

Mine still good, this mco i just put battery charger once a month for 1.5 hours max. It shown great voltage based on it. The warranty only covered 1 year or 20k km iinm for the battery.

I prefer buy outside due to price and more model offered. I will buy those with 18 - 24 months warranty duration. The 12 months warranty is too outdated

Reviving this on X70 CBU car battery.

I just enquired with my PJ dealer via general whatsapp and they said it has to be Century Din66, and not even Din75. Otherwise car warranty void.

Then I called the SA, and argued for a while, then he said ok la can use Century Din75.

I read thru all the earlier comments on batteries here and noticed some of you can change to other brands.  Wondering if its really no warranty issues?    Getting mixed signals    so don't know if the dealer is just being on the safe side.  FYI my first change after like 1 year, to the current Century Din66, then now, just after 2 years, it kong-ed.  So now considering other brands (since this might be under-specced).

Oh another question - there's 'resting voltage' and 'running voltage'. My running is at 14.2-14.3v - still ok right. But if need to check resting must use device, correct?

Yes, im still able to logon to Proton Link app and its working fine. Maybe you try to uninstall and reinstall back the app.

based on my reading, this car use smart alternator type, hence it move from 13.0v - 14.2v on the meter of the car. This car is battery eat if u dont lock the car, it keep draining the battery, hence it make battery life suffer more. I choose Camel 90D26L with much higher CCA rating vs stock, 85D26L, 740CCA vs 660CCA. On top, I did use Foxsur Battery charger bought from shopee, DIY charge it once a month since new, with I open up the Positive and Negative battery cables b4 put the Foxsur charger. The original battery of Camel 85D26L with blue colour last me 3 years 4 months, Merdeka 2020 to Dec 2023. Now with 90D26L with more CCA, by theory i will last longer hopefully. After 1 year 6 months on this, with charger practice, the SC noted the battery life (based on CCA) is at 98%

For the FC, it is acceptable if u drove sedately and max at 140kmh for long distance. Push it more than 140kmh, in my case at 160-170kmh, it drank much2 more than my other car with 2.4NA at similar speed. Cons that I cant understand is the inaccurate fuel indicator of L/100km of the meter, if compared to manual calculation, it lari more. In this case, my Accord fuel indicator km/l, range are more accurate vs manual calculation.

Wow thanks for the informative reply. Upon checking, my battery is Amaron 95D/26L... both the original Camel and Amaron 95D/26L left around 38% power based on the meter. The original one had one incident where I couldn't start the car and needed someone to come to power up the car with another battery, and the recent one also cannot start but can start later without help. Technician said my battery maybe can last for a few more months hence I just changed it after 2 years despite being Amaron 95D/26L.

I think X70 need more power to start the engine, I could be wrong. Now I have the phobia car cannot start.

Since I just changed both tyres and battery this year, I think I will drive my car for at least another 1 year. With the new facelift for X70 coming, I think our X70 will depreciate more. My neighbour's X70 Premium CBU sold off last year for around rm70k. Surprised he got such a good price.

The X70 has a smart alternator (charger) that adjusts the charging voltage to suit the current situation and battery condition. So if you look at the Vref, it can fluctuate between 12.5V to 14V. That's perfectly normal.
Your battery guy is talking about old-fashioned alternators which have a fixed voltage, normally 14.0 to 14.2 Volts.

Better check with SC for the alternator. At SC they will come out with battery report, CCA rating/life as well as Battery Charging health in percentage. For my car that already 4 years old, the battery charging/alternator health is still at 100%. Sorry rarely trust outside workshop for battery

can claim a warranty? I know many BMW and Conti user restore their Alternator at Kwong Weng Auto Electrical Service and Trading, Kepong back and all of them happy with the after restore process

means the voltage generated is not enough to charge the batt
most of the issues are due to the alternator electronics, especially the rectifier component.

Warranty then. Usually approved one. Wait 2 weeks for parts readiness at your SC. Solve all issues related to the battery

Past experienced  last time, it took 2 weeks top for warranty claim for my near home SC, another with Kelana Jaya 3S. The Kelana Jaya claimed brake rotor cz brake juddering at high speed braking, 2 weeks, while another at Puncak Merah Semenyih for auto boot parts, also 2 weeks
