About the aircond, some owner claim warranty for the AC actuator. Believe it the same scenario for your car. In the nutshell, please follow fb x70 group as many people sharing the problem and solutions.

If it me, i will change to other sc. Typical sc, some are known to only good at normal service but k.o of warranty parts/repair. Some are good at both.
*
Many thanks. I joined several fb groups on X70 but mostly all advertisements... lol. I will forward the link to proton. Actually I still think is the lock area since when my chair is down no sound. But could be affected too. For SC it is really about the staff's expertise actually. Turn over rate actually quite high, so some skilled ones might not work long. If the next service is not there, I will change to another one. But the next closest to me one also got people complain.

Thanks again.

Hi folks,

Normally the X70 CKD battery will die around 1.5 years to 2 years right? You folks go back to the SC battery or buy outside? If it is the latter any brand? Thanks.

Mine still good, this mco i just put battery charger once a month for 1.5 hours max. It shown great voltage based on it. The warranty only covered 1 year or 20k km iinm for the battery.

I prefer buy outside due to price and more model offered. I will buy those with 18 - 24 months warranty duration. The 12 months warranty is too outdated
*
Can we actually buy outside? And any recommended model? Some forum folks mentioned if buy outside battery, some settings maybe not be aligned. And not sure if Proton allows us to buy battery from outside and still covers warranty. I will ask in my next service.

AEB - autonomous emergency braking

Hi guys,

Anyone here know how this feature work for X70 Premium CKD? Seems to me it doesn't trigger at all.

I am trying to get more info from my sales guy, but it seems also not accurate. At low speed it seems do not trigger at all...

Another question is the side sensor, apart from detecting objects while parking, what other use? seems camera more important...

Reviving this on X70 CBU car battery.

I just enquired with my PJ dealer via general whatsapp and they said it has to be Century Din66, and not even Din75. Otherwise car warranty void. blink.gif

Then I called the SA, and argued for a while, then he said ok la can use Century Din75. doh.gif

I read thru all the earlier comments on batteries here and noticed some of you can change to other brands.  Wondering if its really no warranty issues?  sweat.gif  Getting mixed signals  rclxub.gif  so don't know if the dealer is just being on the safe side.  FYI my first change after like 1 year, to the current Century Din66, then now, just after 2 years, it kong-ed.  So now considering other brands (since this might be under-specced).

Oh another question - there's 'resting voltage' and 'running voltage'. My running is at 14.2-14.3v - still ok right. But if need to check resting must use device, correct?

Thanks all.  biggrin.gif

Hi there, I checked with my SA wear and tear items like tyres and batteries no effect on warranty.

Can I check why you use Century Din75?

Nub here, can the rest of the k folks help? My X70 Premium coming to 2 years, drove less than 13k miles. The meter everytime still reads power V around 13.9 to 14.2 most of the time. Do I need to change battery after 2 years just in case?

Also Amaron Din66 or 74? Or change to this Century Din75?

Thank you.

Hi guys,

Can I check is there a way to always enable the econ mode or sports mode when we start the car? Currently it will always go back to normal mode after I off the engine and on again. According to my SA currently not able to always go econ mode. Anyone knows of a way? If not quite troublesome to always press a button when you start the car. Thanks.

Hi all,

My X70 CKD recently leaked coolant water due to poor workmanship. Now I have refilled the coolant but need to check if engine damaged. ie easily overheated or not. Can I check what's the normal range of temperature bars on the right side of your screen?

Is it normal to have max 4 bars? ie 5 bars and beyond need to send to workshop? Thanks.

Hi all,

My CKD X70 Premium sometimes when reverse will have jerking. According to SC it is normal. Lately it is getting worse, but since I don't reverse a lot so lazy to go SC. Can I check if anyone suffering same issue and is there any simple cure?

I am thinking of changing my car next year to EV for local driving, but the next service will costs me over rm1k plus to 2k. Do you folks plan to change once the 5 year warranty up or even earlier? Last I check my car worth only 70k from 125k and only 3 years old.

Hi all,

Can I check if you guys still using the Proton Link app? I changed phone and tried to login. Says login invalid and when I try to send sms to reset password, gives me network error and no sms sent.

Is the app broken or something I need to do like re-register via proton service center?

Yes, im still able to logon to Proton Link app and its working fine. Maybe you try to uninstall and reinstall back the app.

Thanks for reply. I am not able to login due to password, so I tried to reset password but gives network server error. Nevermind I will check with the Proton people in my next service. Maybe they need to help me register in the system again.

X70 premium ckd 2020 car in good condition now valuation maximum only rm61k... Mileage 37k only. Insurance min is rm81k.

Just did battery and tyre change this year. Original battery lasted me 1.5 years before I change just to be safe. Changed to Amaron 75/26 (higher power specs) but only lasted me 2 years. To be fair I changed because battery voltage range between 13v to 13.5v. Used to be 13.9 to 14.2v.

Even though I plan to drive this car maybe 1 to 2 years more, I don't recommend people getting this car. Mine is 1.8 turbo with 4 cylinders. I find x70 eats quite a lot of battery and fuel, not sure if others experience the same as me?

Lately when my car is idle (brake) I can feel the engine go vroom vroom to near 2 rpm in the meter, plan to have it fixed in the next service. Anyone having the same issue?

based on my reading, this car use smart alternator type, hence it move from 13.0v - 14.2v on the meter of the car. This car is battery eat if u dont lock the car, it keep draining the battery, hence it make battery life suffer more. I choose Camel 90D26L with much higher CCA rating vs stock, 85D26L, 740CCA vs 660CCA. On top, I did use Foxsur Battery charger bought from shopee, DIY charge it once a month since new, with I open up the Positive and Negative battery cables b4 put the Foxsur charger. The original battery of Camel 85D26L with blue colour last me 3 years 4 months, Merdeka 2020 to Dec 2023. Now with 90D26L with more CCA, by theory i will last longer hopefully. After 1 year 6 months on this, with charger practice, the SC noted the battery life (based on CCA) is at 98%

For the FC, it is acceptable if u drove sedately and max at 140kmh for long distance. Push it more than 140kmh, in my case at 160-170kmh, it drank much2 more than my other car with 2.4NA at similar speed. Cons that I cant understand is the inaccurate fuel indicator of L/100km of the meter, if compared to manual calculation, it lari more. In this case, my Accord fuel indicator km/l, range are more accurate vs manual calculation.

no idea for the vroom2, but iiwu will send to warranty

Wow thanks for the informative reply. Upon checking, my battery is Amaron 95D/26L... both the original Camel and Amaron 95D/26L left around 38% power based on the meter. The original one had one incident where I couldn't start the car and needed someone to come to power up the car with another battery, and the recent one also cannot start but can start later without help. Technician said my battery maybe can last for a few more months hence I just changed it after 2 years despite being Amaron 95D/26L.

I think X70 need more power to start the engine, I could be wrong. Now I have the phobia car cannot start.

Since I just changed both tyres and battery this year, I think I will drive my car for at least another 1 year. With the new facelift for X70 coming, I think our X70 will depreciate more. My neighbour's X70 Premium CBU sold off last year for around rm70k. Surprised he got such a good price.

I just got an update from my battery guy, maybe it is my alternator got problem that's causing the fluactuation in power reading. When I drive it fluctuates from 12.7V to 13.1V despite being new battery.

Can I check if anyone has changed this alternator and what's the warranty period? 3 years or 5 years?

The X70 has a smart alternator (charger) that adjusts the charging voltage to suit the current situation and battery condition. So if you look at the Vref, it can fluctuate between 12.5V to 14V. That's perfectly normal.
Your battery guy is talking about old-fashioned alternators which have a fixed voltage, normally 14.0 to 14.2 Volts.
*
I am not sure. Both the battery guy (quite good in skill) and the Proton 3S workshop say alternator having problem. My car today starts from 12V to keep going from 12.3V to 12.9V... keeps dropping down. The 3S center has help me request a new alternator and asked me not to drive. The battery guy said the same thing too. I have been driving this car almost 4 years, year 2020 CKD 1.8 turbo. Previously the voltage always around 13.6 to 14.2. Never went down below 13.5v. I just changed battery 95D/26L because lately the battery goes from 13.1V to 13.6V. Now I am a bit worried the problem cannot be resolved after alternator change.

This lack of parts in Proton annoys me, now I can't drive my car and even the battery workshop said I have to go Proton workshop as they cannot order the original alternator. No choice but to wait....

Better check with SC for the alternator. At SC they will come out with battery report, CCA rating/life as well as Battery Charging health in percentage. For my car that already 4 years old, the battery charging/alternator health is still at 100%. Sorry rarely trust outside workshop for battery
*
Just did. The service manager tested with his device and made the comment the situation is bad... lol.

BTW one question, if my voltage from dashboard fluctuates from 12.3v to 12.8v then sometimes to 13.1v when the car stops at traffic light then immediately drops to 12.3v, does it mean the car is still charging just erratic?

can claim a warranty? I know many BMW and Conti user restore their Alternator at Kwong Weng Auto Electrical Service and Trading, Kepong back and all of them happy with the after restore process
*
The manager says can claim. I don't know if it will be rejected by Proton. But takes around 2 to 3 weeks... faint. I am in Johor.

QUOTE(pattleongkam @ Jul 3 2024, 02:19 PM)
means the voltage generated is not enough to charge the batt
most of the issues are due to the alternator electronics, especially the rectifier component.
*
Sorry I don't really know what this mean. So is the alternator still charging the battery (just weak)? Can I still drive the car or better not drive it until the new alternator is here.

Warranty then. Usually approved one. Wait 2 weeks for parts readiness at your SC. Solve all issues related to the battery

Long wait for parts, very tempted to go another SC with stock to change at Rm1200, but worried if changed already still same (ie not alternator issue).

Past experienced  last time, it took 2 weeks top for warranty claim for my near home SC, another with Kelana Jaya 3S. The Kelana Jaya claimed brake rotor cz brake juddering at high speed braking, 2 weeks, while another at Puncak Merah Semenyih for auto boot parts, also 2 weeks

I am definitely selling this X70 next year. Seems like after warranty period finished all parts tend to have problem. Was just told alternator only 3 years warranty... I no longer know what's covered for 5 years.
