Update: Send SC for reset thing, turn out back to normal for yesterday and today. Purposely fuel less at rm30 to check if it ok. B4 this, my car wont give no bar fuel indicator except blinking when low fuel detected, even range heading 40km, after reset then only getting this no fuel bar when fuel is low.

what kind of reset did you ask for?

ecu full reset or only the fuel indicator reset??
will this reset involve the transmission TCU reset to the latest version??

if you can show the printed bill with the description of resetting your car would be great.
I will ask my SA to do what you did to your car on my next visit.

they said system reset and they showed me the technician using those ECU reader equipment thingy which connect to the connection behind/ below dashboard. I only signed on the printer bill but not given for it. On the paper, they written my car system was reset as the Fuel pump, fuel hoses all are in good condition as checked dated yesterday and SC proceed with system reset.

On the TCU dont think has update cz mine is CKD.

To update on the above.

Last month the petrol smell inside the cabin is getting alarming. Also the petrol smell from the front engine is also very strong. And the fuel consumption is bad. Rm50 could only get les than 150km. Its even getting harder to crank start on cold engine.

So decided to sent the car to outside workshop to check cos no more warranty. The initial check found some petrol leaking. After opening up the engine manifold and checked the fuel injector, the mechanic found one slight broken o-ring on one of the fuel injectors. After replaced the o-ring,no more petrol smell and now can crank start the engine normally.

I did send my car for walnut blasting back in April 2024, the mechanic suspected the o-ring was accidentally broken during the reinstallation after the walnut blasting.

hi can share your best place to do walnut blasting? mine heading 70k km mileage, what the best mileage to perform this 1st walnut?

I did mine at 80k plus Km.. I think the recommended mileage is 45,000 to 50,000km.

Hmmm.. I think im the unlucky one.. Lol. I will not recommend the place that i went.

Maybe you can try Zordaq Bangi. They have few branches as well. One of them is in Puchong.

Any significant difference before and after blasting?

I just have a feel the idling is smoother now.

I just treat this as a preventative maintenance to remove the carbon built up to minimise rough idling or loss of power.

Any idea how to note if this car had many carbon deposit, will it sound different or if the FC goes way higher etc? Make appointment with Zordaq for rm400, but foresee to wait it hit 70k km then go. Now at 67+k km

Rm400 is a good price. Cheaper than the workshop that i went to. Look like this Zordaq is a port for Proton X series vehicles.

I think need a baroscope camera to peep through to view the carbon built up on the valves.

Premium for 114,800.. Either I get an old x70 design car or Chery Tiggo 7 pro which looks much fancier but after sales and quality is unknown.

Not saying proton has great quality but it's borderline of my acceptance level and the spart parts issue has been resolved according to few of my friends who owned x70..


Add on some of my personal experience after driving the 1.5 premium test drive unit:

- 1.5L 3 cylinder feels much quicker and peppy than 1.8L from 0 to 60.. (Yes I'm surprised as well cause my gf owned a 2022 MC 1.8L and I drive it quite often as well)

- Gentle tap on the fuel pedal and the car really move quicker, and RPM is normal, less than 2k rpm but feels lot quicker than 1.8L

- Interior same boring but at least it comes with wireless apple carplay, the screen is so smooth, not as laggy as the old one and the ambient light, ugly...

- I still prefer the old bigger steering wheel compared to the new one.. Maybe I'm used to the old one but the leather and overall quality feels better on the new steering wheel design.


Would like to hear some of your comments as well.. Any other suggestions and my budget max 120k, preferably SUV since I'm too used to taller ride.

X70 CBU 6 speed g.box

Stop, press brake & after a while (waiting for traffic light), g.box will jerk.

Change front brake pads & g.box jerking went away. Also, change ATF (5 liters) as part of schedule maintenance.

Suspect, the old worn out brake pads were *not* gripping the front wheels properly, causing slight slipping which caused g.box to jerk.

Anyways, the jerking went away 1 day after changing front brake pads. Think pads need to settle in.

From my read on FB, for CBU gb, please change ATF earlier than what Proton suggest. Some do at every 30k km, and turn out ok.

My car brakepad already 4 years old, and yet to change. Mileage at 72k km. Next maybe go to outside for brakepad change instead of SC
