Took delivery of my new X70 1.8 Premium last week. After test driving the CRV, Tiguan & 3008, kinda decided that the X70 remains very competitive in that segment without even factoring in the price.

The clincher came when the sales agent buang harga and offered the 1.8 Premium for RM115,800 for last year's stock (manufactured mid Nov). My wallet jumped out of my pocket on the spot. 3 weeks later the car is mine.

I'm struggling with the head unit, coz there's a bit of a learning curve to overcome and the sales guy didn't explain much of it. For example, how the hell do I log in as a registered owner? I can't setup the thing.

Also, the much vaunted 'premium Kenwood sound system' didn't match up with my expectation of 'premium'. I have a Pioneer + Alpine set-up in my old 2008 Sorento with 2-way component speakers in the front, 2-way coax in the rear + a 12" sub in a sealed box, so that's what I'm accustomed to... which beats the pants off the X70's 'premium' setup.

Since I'm out of parking space I need to sell off the Sorento 2.5 turbodiesel with the audio setup intact, so if anyone's interested...

Today my X70's Atlas IHU koyak.

On the drive to work just this morning, it rebooted 3 times before completely freezing up. It finally unfreeze itself after rebooting again. But I discovered I had lost the voice command function, bluetooth connectivity, kick sensor function and god knows what else.

I sent a video of the IHU malfunction to the salesman and he says this is a common problem with the Atlas unit, and they have no remedy at the moment.

What a piece of shit.

I have this problem before. What i did was log off and never log in as a registered owner. Don't use the app as well. Since then, no issue at all.

Another thing you can try if it is frozen, press and hold the on/off button for 10s.

Good luck.

Best SC for warranty claim is 3S Kelana Jaya. I have claimed front rotor under warranty here. Mileage was 28k km and at 2 years of age. From fb group, yeah the newer HU by atlas is depends on luck. Bet if i were u, try demand a replacement under warranty

I would advise against buying a proton car if you can afford a Honda or Toyota. Quality is not good. The parts don't last long and aren't cheap if you don't know how to buy them yourself from taobao. My power window's master lock button had failed. The gear lever cable was broken and I was unable to shift the lever. My rear stabiliser bar link & bush start to give noise at 60k km.

Japanese 2nd hand car prices are high for a reason. 85k don't think can get any good 2020 Japanese car.
If I must get an SUV for less than 85k, size is not important, I will get perodua ativa or wait for the launch of perodua Nexis D66B.

I had Japanese sedan that i bought 172k brand new at 2015. It didn't trouble free. But again it depends on owner to push for warranty. The cars need 3 times driveshaft warranty claim, side mirror driver for part, warranty. Rest annoying rattling at dashboard, door trim, and the foc poor NVH. The main issues is juddering brake, due to poor quality brakepad. Solve this via aftermarket parts
That reason make me against buying a Alor Gajah made in future, at least for me. The roof sounds like a Viva for that car. Too many cut cost for sound insulation. Again no car is perfect, but try push warranty for any issues.

I hv Honda Jazz 2012, Civic 2020, and City 2013. Despite poor manufacturing quality, I did not face a serious reliability problem. Maybe it depends on luck. I like Honda Malaysia. They take my online complaint quite quickly and seriously. They offered a solution for my scratched steering wheel noted after service. My warranty claim was also handled well, they replaced one by one the parts that they suspected were the source of the noise (absorber, absorber mounting, stabilizer link, engine mounting, until axle shaft) , until the problem was solved. So far, the parts haven't failed earlier than they were supposed to, unlike the X70. Besides, the X70 design is not well refined. The driver's left foot rest height is not intended for normal people. To use it, you must have a shorter left limb. The side mirror position creates blind spots. I like the quality of my Mazda better, but it's still too early to comment on my experience with Mazda.

just hope your cvt will last long. my family member's HRV 2017 cvt just k.o last month, and cost 4k outside to replace the belt. it happened right after the warranty ended. Which SC for Honda u went for a warranty claim? I did complain via hotline by phone back then cz they kinda rejected by side mirror claim initially due to the mirror vibrating at high speed. the technician even tests my car for almost 1 hour to detect it even though it is straightforward. After the phone call and meet the SC manager in charge, only then claim was applied by that SC. The juddering of the brake is the norm for melaka honda, need aftermarket parts for it to solve it permanently. And rattling inside car, at gear level of my accord, SC dont even know how to solve it.

I had bad experiences with Honda, so I won't repeat back with Melaka-made Honda. And all model c/w CVT, it make more points to stay away from them.

My current 2016 Jazz used to have screeching sound in the morning after a long parking overnight. I complaint to Honda SC, they told me the problem remain the same even changing ori Honda brake pads. This means their part selection has problem. Too much iron in the brake pad causing it to rust quickly.

What they could offer was brake pad cleaning every service by using airgun to blow. This is too disaapointing and embarassing for me. I switched to Bendix brake pads and no more such stupid issue.

Yeah. Its due to poor material/quality of the brakepad. But still want us to pay rm700/pair. Solve mine with TRW brakepad. Ok until now, 70k - 200k km now.

Mind intro the SA? I'm thinking of buying the 1.8 Premium as well.

Mind to share on how you sideload the apps? I can't seem to find any info on the internet. If you are not keen to disclose it here, can you share a link to a website for me to refer?
