He did ask that FIFA, AFC and FAM Reconsider their decision about not letting Man Utd play in Msia.

QUOTE(zickey @ May 11 2007, 08:25 PM) then see our team kena tapau kaw kaw la?? Hahaha, what a faggot... So what if our Malaysian team loses 15-0? In fact, its not the national team per se, the side that will be facing MU is a Malaysian Selection, which will also have foreigners like Bambang, Chepita, etc...do u want ppl will said later "Oh Malaysia is the country that lost to MU 15-0 and that's not even the first eleven of MU." are u still proud of Malaysia at that time? Think about the economic side of things lah, brother... When MU plays here, fans from other Asean countries that didn't get their visit will surely come to this country to watch their idols' match... Won't that generate much needed tourism dollars for Malaysia, in addition to boosting tourist arrivals? P.S. Isn't Zickey a liverpool fan? That explains the MU bashing! This truly becoming like a KOPITIAM THREAD. One fan unhappy cos a team not his own coming to Msia and all hell breaks loose. What a spoil sport. Isn't Chelsea also supposed to come as well? They did come over with Newcastle few years back. Non fans went as well.........
This being a year where the eyes of the world should be on our country. Its good publicity......(Not from an MU FAN point of view) |

It's bound to generate revenue to the country's tourism Asian Cup on the other hand, come on la. Let's all be honest k on this one. Finally, the malaysian football, at the state they are in, they only have themselves to blame la. Japan n S.Korea were our beating boys before, where they have progressed, they have lagged. So don't give the crap of them sucking money, when we all know how much interest big EPL teams generate. From Liverpool, all the way to United |

But anyway, our Real National team wouldn't be playing right? I mean if they progress very far in the AFC Cup. Its supposed to be a MALAYSIAN League select, so it might even be MYTEAM/Msia U21s or League Select so we got nothing to be embarrased about if the local team gets knocked 5-0 or 10-0.
The last time they came we lost what? 6-0? I'm guessing like the last round, the local lads will be running for No.7's jersey..... |

LOL.. looks like this thread had become a Kopitiam thread d. Actually no matter Man Utd come or not, the Asian Cup certainly wont be able to attract much crowds. After all, we all are used to the EPL high quality matches shown on the Astro. In the first page, i saw someone posted about his concern toward the final scoreline between Man Utd n Malaysia team. Well.. if Malaysia team ended up beaten 10-0 also won't provide much criticisms from us. Coz we are already immune to Malaysia "low" standard of football. This is my point of view as a neutral forumer. Even if Liv,Cheski or Ars coming to Malaysia for exhibition matches, i believe that EPL football fans wont miss out.

Actually the AFC matches are not as bad as most people think. I caught the game between Sydney and Shandong the other day and it was pretty entertaining. I also watch highlights of the games. Malaysian football may suck but the rest of Asia ain't that bad. Teams from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and the Middle East play pretty good football. All Man Utd may want to boycott the AFC but believe me, it's pretty good if you give it a chance.

All I'm saying is that the standard of the Asian Champions League isn't as bad as some people are making it out to be. Some posters are talking about Malaysian football but the tournament involves teams from all over Asia, not just Malaysia. It's obvious how bad Malaysian football is with Pahang finishing bottom of their table, but the rest of Asia is pretty decent to watch. We're not talking bout Man Utd fans here, it's more like EPL as a whole. true it might be entertaining, but won't you wanna see you own idols in action =) |
