A company led by family, a traditional way of managing business isn't working for them.
They are too stubborn and still has the audacity to sell expensive devices despite the fact that they are losing.

I also wish they can bounce back at least on the Motorola level (which is the Top 2 vendor in South America).
We need more option and thankfully, Huawei is a good alternative in a world full of Apples and GALAXYs...

I think HTC has not only fallen behind Huawei, but many others too, which is a shame coz they do make good phones, haha. I tried the U11 which I thought was better than the S8 at that time but like you said, HTC Sense was dated and it showed laugh.gif

The one thing I didn’t quite like about the P20 Pro was the lack of the 3.5mm audio jack, and the supplied USB C earphones were awful and no match for HTC’s USB C u-Sonic earphones. I prefer the wired earphones option sometimes, especially if I have to take a conference call. But other than that, yeah, Huawei is ahead by some distance.

Anyways, I actually listed my P20 Pro last night thinking it’ll be another 1 or 2 weeks before I get an offer but surprisingly it was a swift sale. The phone is well and truly still in demand biggrin.gif

Hope you will consider the HTC U12+ for your next flagship phone wink.gif

No bro, I listed it for 2.5k nett, non negotiable. I bought it at 2712 after Qoo10’s voucher and got a ShopBack rebate of 100, making my actual cost 2612. Don’t feel right selling at 2.6k biggrin.gif

Nice! I sold my P20 at 2.3k to a friend but he will pay in 2 gives.

I just realized I can get a brand new P20 for less than that and I kept some of the cases and he doesn't want the ClearCoat so I can go back to P20 anytime I want 😁

U12+ expensive n not worth it.
The quality made not as good as u11+.

I haven't seen the U12+ in real life and owning the U11+ now, I can say HTC still makes well built phones. A glass phone that feels like the HTC 10 especially the aluminium sides. I think almost all Android phone including Huawei imitated HTC starting from the One m7 and One M8.

I just don't feel like paying 3599RM from DirectD for a gray unit and it's not even the Translucent Blue color.

The main problem for u12+ is lack of physical button, and the pressure button on u2+ is not good at all, sometimes not responsive, in that regard u11+ is much better
*
Exactly. Oh well. I'll stick with the U11+ for the time being.
I'm just excited next year coz I'm 100% sure the next P phone will have a built in fingerprint scanner!

Slowly, Huawei is improving its presence in the mobile industry.
In my home country (The Philippines), their reputation as a "China phone" has started diminishing.

Their partnership with Leica pays off and it's like both brands are considered as one entity (at least in mobile).

Sure, Samsung and Apple are still the 2 most popular brands but Huawei has become the go-to alternative when you want something premium (this, coming from an HTC fan).

I'm guessing those that can't get a credit card or are blacklisted, I suppose.

Anyways, here's a nice flash sale deal for those keen on the P20

Remember I sold my P20 for 2.3k? I bought a nicer deal yesterday for 1945RM (from a different seller in Shopee). I don't need to buy cases and ClearCoat since I kept them. brows.gif
Still waiting for the package though.

2699 is not bad considering the P20 Pro isn't even 6 months old. LOL
It's cheaper than the regular Galaxy S9 and last year's flagship models from different OEMs.

Wanna ask, for a point and shoot. Is the p20 good camera?

*Without playing around with manual mode.
*
Yes it is.
Actually, ANY flagship phone right now is good for point and shoot. You won't go wrong with any of the HIGHEND phones.
It's just a matter of preference.

Choose HTC U11+/U12+, Pixel 2 if you want realistic, true to life colors.
Choose S9/iPhone X if you want to have saturated colors.
Choose P20 if you want an AI camera (aka auto filters) brows.gif

That was a Shopee flash sale yesterday bro, but I spotted this still available today

Since the new Galaxy Note and iPhones are expected to be announced on Aug and Sept respectively, these flash sales will keep on coming.
I also think the P20 series are overpriced considering some of the components are built in house (like the CPU).

They only started charging premium since the P10 and prior to that, their flagship phones start below 2k (like many other Android OEMs that time).
Of course, this isn't the case for Apple and Samsung because of the brand name.

Anyway, this is good for the consumers, not so for early adopters like us.

Sad to know this.  sad.gif  VLC has been among my favorite app to play media

Didn't bother installing VLC. MX Player (Pro) is the best video player for me which is older than VLC and more popular in Android smile.gif

I installed VLC because there are some audio codecs that MX Player removed (e.g. AC3) due to licensing issues. Not sure if the latest versions have patched it.

But I believe Huawei and other manufacturers are really taking the battery management thing too far. OneSignal wrote an article last year that lots of apps have push notifications problems due to manufacturer killing background apps. No. 1 on the list was Huawei.

You just need to separately download plugins for other codecs to work.
And I do think almost all codecs will now work (without additional plugins) since almost all OEMs include them natively.
I just use MX Player since I can choose which folder it will read on my phone.

Hmm bought a charger from Lazada for my P20 pro for 65 bucks, stated from seller that they took the chargers out from the box and compatible with most Huawei devices that supports Super charge. Because of the good reviews i decided to give it a shot but the charger only super charge my phone for only 10 mins and goes back to normal charging after. Takes more than 2 hours to complete charge which is nor not normal, and sometimes the phone stops charging. Learned my lesson on cheap chargers online T_T
*
What do you mean by "goes back to normal charging"? The display says "charging" after 10 mins instead of "super charging"?

Same. I got my second P20 from tanceline33. happy.gif
But not sure if I got a lemon unit. The volume rocker buttons are a bit wobbly compared to my very first P20 which I purchased last April.

I don't intend on returning because it's working perfectly and could be some variance in quality control.

May I ask, what is generally the best price for a P20 Pro and a Mate 10 Pro nowadays? Thanks.
*
Without any voucher or discount, you can get a P20 Pro for 2.7k and Mate 10 Pro for 2.1k.

Anyway. I just don't like how Huawei Malaysia intentionally do not release all color variants here.
In the Philippines, you can buy all colors of the Mate 10 Pro at launch. I was really tempted to buy titanium grey that time but then I was expecting Huawei to ship the same color variant here (but it didn't happen at all).
Sometimes, I feel there are missed opportunities for potential buyers because of this.

Dude, search Lazada, Shopee or 11street and filter by price. It's easier than waiting for reply here biggrin.gif

Lol on offering you 6 months return policy. That's a takeaway already. Definitely a scam.

Same here haven't remove it yet. Was going to change to a different SP last weekend but didn't have the time yet.

ClearCoat Matte type. You won't go wrong with this protector. Self-healing, durable and won't smudge your screen.
Of course it's expensive (200RM for full body - front, sides and back) but it's lifetime replacement warranty (you just need to pay 3RM per new installation as labor charge).

9 plus battery wont match with P20 pro....gave it to my wife...
*
P20/ P20 Pro is only 1080p and not QuadHD so definitely the P20 Pro will last longer.
Even the iPhone X only uses FullHD and their regular iPhone 8 is still a lowend HD display.
So don't believe iPhones last longer because they are battery efficient. They just use lower resolution displays.
