The overnight battery drain last night with the new update was 4% over 8 hours, so that’s 0.5% per hour on standby. That’s kinda similar to what I’m normally getting (2-5%) so it’s acceptable.

great to hear, the "clear cache" in recovery mode is also doing the phone a great job. highly recommended to do this as a standard modus operandi.

My overall take on the phone is that it's a solid effort by Huawei. Battery life is good and EMUI has improved by leaps and bounds since I last used a Huawei device as a primary phone (Mate 8) although as it is with most skins, it depends a lot on individual preference. What works for me may not work for you.

The showpiece of the phone, the camera, was a little bit of a hit and miss for me. While its low light shots are pretty much unrivaled, the over saturation of colors in some scenarios may not be to everyone's liking. I found the AI to be a little annoying - As an experiment, I tried taking photo of starfruits, and it kept switching from food to greenery and to flowers Selfies are pretty much unusable, but I don't take selfies much so that's fine.

Oh, and the novelty of owning the twilight color fades faster than I imagined, ha ha...
