After driving the new persona for a bit more than a year (1year and 1month) I would say this is the last Proton car I'll ever buy. One of the main reason I bought new car instead of second hand Honda/Toyota at that time was hoping that new car will give less headache or at least if there's anything broken it will be covered under warranty for the first few years. Now they start to told me this broken that broken and warranty are only 1 year, so I have to pay. Sorry for the negatives view, just want to let it off my chest.
How come? Isn't the warranty is 5 years? Did you change anything on your car? Did you serviced the car at external workshop?
Totally understand how you feel. Been there and done that with Honda especially with the airbags. It is far more dangerous compare with my issue with my Persona (Wakanda Forever). Based on my understanding from you post, if the SC mentioned that the parts only cover for 1 year only limited to:
- Exhaust System - Battery Not everything is cover for 5 years. Referring back to the Warranty & Service Booklet below:

Thanks for the info. I've learned something new today.
Hi, anyone can compare 2016 persona standard cvt with 2018 one? coz i plan to buy one next mth..and i heard the rim will change to iriz one? is it true?
yup. new rims (similar to Iriz but does not have dual tone colour, only single tone)
today service 30,000km (mileage 4785km) voucher RM425, bought iriz handbrake using voucher RM117, iriz gear knob CVT rm2xx (currently no stock)... if persona CVT gear knob RM80, cheaper than iriz
Why are you changing the handbrake & gear knobs? 😅
Anyone got the table for service for persona with the 5 year free service. Wanna see what things are not important that is being charged under free service. Hope to get my EO upgraded at a lower price. And one more thing is fully EO worth it compared to Semi?
Try to avoid a 4s center in shah alam.... very unprofessional and inefficient service... some more PIC acts like gangster...left my car inside around 3 months cant solve the issue...finally transfer my car to another SC, 3 days only found the issue and fixed.... paid 3 months installment without touching the car... dem
btw a big thumb up to proton customer care... they really listening to their customer....
Yes I do travel from Ampang to Sunway everyday and I try to drive as efficiently as possible by applying minimal throttle inputs as well as driving during non-peak hours haha! Oh, and I'm also very obsessed with getting the best fuel consumption possible.
At least you guys got a decent mileage per full tank.
My wife's car (6 months old) only managed to get 300km per full tank; with 100% city drive with medium traffic congestion.
is kind of sound proofing. many claim that i will help. in my opinion, i think it will wont have that effect as you would think. most of the noise come from CVT, no matter how well or much the sound insulation you put in, even with improved noise insulation it is still there. But you do feel very very huge effect when raining.
You can start by adding more weather stripping, i ordered almost like 20meters from lazada and waited a week or so for almost RM80, i tried covered all places i can including hood and boot. if you see higher end cars, at the hood it has very specific seal just to isolate 1 noise source, adding DIY weather stripping might help but it will be no where close to factory design.
Additional benefit would be slightly improved handling as the chassis became stiffer due to the hollow areas being filled with foam.
In my opinion, the benefit is not noticeable if your driving style is very docile. So, not worth it if this is what you aim for.
Did the autofoam on my saga as an experiment. Won't be doing it on my wife's persona.
