For some reason my iriz does not have xxkm/L but it does have xxL/100KM

Isnt both of these are supposed from the same pot, not sure if there any way to unlock the xxkm/L meter via obd or somewhere?

My best miles is always at most 6.5L/100KM, no idea in KM/L as my car dont have this as mentioned above.
Yes, proportion wise 16 inch does look better especially if one using stock absorber and stock springs else it look so wrong with 15 inch wheels

But my car came with 16 inch but I downsize to lighter 15 inch with 195/55 tires as opposed to 16 inch 185/55 & 195/50 size

For me the obvious benefit is during start stop traffic where lesser effort needed to move the car.

Not to mention the car is much comfortable as opposed to 195/50 tires even my 15 inch tires are maxxis Ipro which i believed is more harder than other tires.

How do find driving with 205/50 on persona? For me I felt it is a little too big for 1.6 NA engine to handle and preferred 195/50 if i were to go back to 16 inch which most unlikely to happen. At least more tire choices in 205/50 than 195/50 especially on the UHP side of things
*
I can only comment on the basis of the tire performance. Switching from high performance tires to comfort bias touring tire has its significant differences.

Grip levels are way lower. Braking distances are longer & I can't whack the corners as I did before. However, noise are significantly reduced. No more droning noise. I can hear the radio & my passengers better. It has got too quiet as I could hear the road noise. It shows how noisy the Maxxis Victra I-Pro tires were. Ride comfort is still there & much better as the the sidewall height is only 5mm less. The sidewalls are softer & that contributes to the less bouncy feeling when going through road undulations.

In terms of nimbleness, it was slightly noticeable that the new wheel setup is heavier than the previous. However, this is not an issue for me as I've always driven spiritedly most of the time.

Time will tell if my next set of tires will remain the touring type or do I have to change back to UHP tires.

There is no low noise UHP tires. Yokohama Advan Apex V601 is not available in 16 inchers.

Next alternative u shd try is either good year eagle f1 which i had used previously.

Not sure how does advan fleva v701 will be since there are both good and bad review on this tire.
*
Tried Advan Fleva V701 before on my old car with 195/50R15 setup.

Not very good grip, annoyingly "noisy". Not as loud as Victra I-Pro, but have this definite squealing noise.

Thanks but i noticed that it would be  either this or that and not both?

Usually which one metric will be more accurate?
*
Manual calculation. Mileage by trip meter divided by number of liters of petrol refilled when refuel reminder pop up.

Hi wanna ask, about no. 3, how did they fix it?
Had mine creating noise when I have my seat up
Suspect it the seat latch as no noise when it's down
*
Previously it was related to the latch of the rear seat. SC solved it with some tape at the latch to prevent free play

Hi, anyone using the front USB port for their dash cam? I'm using it for my dash cam and the dash cam will auto restart itself after driving for like 15 to 30 min then it will not auto restart itself again.

Wondering if my dash cam has issue or the front USB port unable to provide sufficient power?

Edit: I'm driving Proton Iriz Active BTW. Posted here because the thread is more active over here  biggrin.gif

It is the faulty dashcam cable. Happened to my 70mai dashcam. Contacted tech support. They told me to change cable

Other than changing tyres, have you done any mod to increase your car's performance?
*
Some of my mods (not really performance related, more of convenience):

Stainless steel braided brake hose & DOT4 TRW brake fluid (no more dead travel during braking)

Brembo OE replacement brake pads (slightly better grip, dusty af. Wanna change to other pads, next)

Heat shield wrap around the battery. Now using Camel Plus battery (30 months encounting).

Door visors

Bosch Evolution Strider horn (upgrade from pussy horn)

LED white bulbs for front lamps

70mai dashcam lite

Trapo car mat (lousy car mats. Deeply regretted getting them).

3M tints on all windows (crystalline series for front windscreen).

Sun shades for side windows & rear windscreen

Neat,
Do you by any chance have the rattling dashboard issue?
*
After 5 years it appears near the central screen headunit.

Learn to live with it. I only hear it from time to time if I don't turn on radio.

Curious how much does steel braided brake hose cost for your car? does it make massive improvement during hard driving or tougeh?

I had friend who went tru bendix metal king but in the end return to proton ori brakes as it is still the best of the lot.
*
It was only RM160+ per pair bought online from Shopee at that time. Only slight improvement in braking performance. The significant change was there was no dead travel when pressing the brake pedals. The bite/grip came gradually as expected.

Bendix metal king produce a lot of dust & also will fade the disc rotor significantly.

I'm planning to try Trestor Advantage, next.

I still find the original proton suspension is still the best balanced or all rounder performing in terms of comfort & handling performance.

Is dot5 able to put into the system?
Checked the manual its only saying dot3 or dot4 fluid only
*
Not DOT5.

DOT3, DOT4 & DOT5.1 can be mixed

Nice, I am considering getting myself better brake fluid that can handle hard driving longer.
*
According to datasheet, the TRW brake fluid is slightly better than the Brembo brake fluid in the DOT4 category.

my bad dot5.1

Basically no issue will occur if i were to use dot5.1 fluid only?
*
Yup. IMHO, DOT4 is more than enough for this car.

Plus a good set of brake pads & grippy tires would give you a competent braking performance.

For members with the 2022 Persona with 185/55R16 tires, may I know what is the recommended tire pressure stated at your car's door frame?

Another thing, have any of you had experience with doing paint touch up for small dings? Knocked my gate into the car door and a tiny ding is there. Looks like it might have gone through as I can see the body.

Should I just get some touch up paint from online and do myself?
*
Waste of money, the problem with of the shelves touch up paints is, even with same colour code it would not give you an exact colour match.

Only do this if you want to protect the exposed metal from rust.

If not, accumulate all the small paint chippings until you can't bear it & spend money to repaint the whole car.

Previously I've upsized my wheel fitment from 195/55R15 to 205/50R16.

I noticed I was getting 20km to 30km less per full tank than I would usually get after the upsize. Usually I would get about 300++km for 100% city drive (heavy footed driver here).

So, during the recent service at Proton SC, I requested for Engine retuning that only cost me RM36.

Not only I've got my old mileage back, somehow I feel that the mileage is improved. I was getting about 500++km per full tank for mixed highways & city drive. Previously I could only get around 400++km.

This was my best mileage ever during ownership of this car since 2017.

Quick question, what kind of engine retuning they really did?

Eg like do they share with you the processes?

Mine current mileage is around 400KM until light blinking
*
Could be resetting the ECU & TCU.

I didn't go look on what they did during the service. But before that, I did complained to the Service advisor about my issue & he suggested to me that we could try do the engine retuning & see if that would help alleviate the issue.

Glad it did.

Just finished.. 5 years warranty just for engine apparently.
*
Based on my experience owning Proton cars.

The 6th year of ownership is always the most challenging year.

All types of problems or wear & tear items will pop up & needs attention.

My 2017 Persona is no different. Now rear absorber has started leaking, rear bearing also kong.

My reverse camera also decided to fail on me today. Went & replace it right away.

Dunno what else in stored for me for the remainder of this year.

Do you still bring it official service center or you bring to outside workshop once warranty finished.

I already started menanbung on those big ticket item since i plan to keep the car for long term.
*
Ya. I still send to official SC. Price only slightly higher, but more comfortable & can do appointment. No time to trial & error finding outside workshops.

Go outside, no system, no waiting room, no nothing. Foremen's skill also hit & miss.

Not to mention parts in offcial sc will be genuine while outside shop may end up getting fake parts too.

My friend kena even though the shop insists is original item.
*
Also warranty on the installed parts.

Did you know that Proton's warranty on parts does not apply if you installed it at outside workshops?

I kena before in previous car, the replacement drive belt tensioner was faulty, luckily got 6 month warranty. I managed to get it replaced twice within warranty period.

Is it covered under warranty? If it is covered, why wait?
