So....about that 50% discount as stipulated in Budget 2017......can the new government simply ignore it?
Yes. It's not their plan
QUOTE(AmyDazz @ Jul 23 2018, 12:40 AM)
Are you sure VDSL/VDSL2 can support 50Mbps? Are you currently on VDSL2 with 50Mbps speed?
Yes, my brother is using 50Mb/s on VDSL
QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 23 2018, 01:43 AM)
During the construction of high rises does TM has the final say on the type of networking infrastructure or it's all decided by the developer?
It's decided by the developer
QUOTE(crusher @ Jul 23 2018, 09:56 AM)
Am I the only one did not receive the email for upgrade from TM?
No. I didn't receive it either
Just be patience. I'm sure the upgrade will come anyway
No need to worry

I didn't get the RYE RM10 upgrade SMS but I still managed to upgrade from 50Mb/s to 100Mb/s for an extra RM10 for a final amount of only RM189 / month

QUOTE(nikrizal @ Jul 23 2018, 10:57 AM)
Of course eligible
Nope. If your 50Mb/s is relying on VDSL/VDSL2, you will be stuck at 50Mb/s
Only FTTH can get higher than 50Mb/s
QUOTE(shyghost @ Jul 23 2018, 12:14 PM)
Can we minus the hypptv only for monthly unifi?
No
QUOTE(Eithanius @ Jul 23 2018, 12:16 PM)
So in short, anything below 10ms is ftth, while above 30ms is vdsl...?

Do i get you right...?
More or less
I've had the experience of both using VDSL & FTTH
On FTTH my ping to local places never goes beyond 10ms (on ethernet)
On VDSL, it's always higher

i just signed for unifi and should i choose 30mbps for 139 or 50 mbps for 199? the 139 one will become 199 after two years? when later tm call to confirm can i on the spot change package?
Go with the 30Mb/s for RM139
After 2 years TM will definitely provide new pricing. Perhaps something cheaper

erm i dunno the different of two, am in a landed premises and would be used by 3 persons.
If landed you are definitely on FTTH (full fiber)
And you should be getting the free upgrade to 300Mb/s soon too

I just subscribed to 10mbps but if i go to tm to upgrade to 30mbps, will it automatically update or what?
Yes
Although it may require you to restart your BTU once you've received the SMS from TM

How to check?
Check your modem
If your modem is connected to the telephone cable - Then you are on VDSL/VDSL2 and you will not be getting any Turbo upgrade of 100Mbs/300Mbs/800Mbs
If your modem is connected to the fiber cable - Then you are on FTTH & you will be getting the Turbo upgrade from 10Mbs to 100Mbs

Ignore the color of the cable, what's important is the connector
