In a series of examples, TM says that existing users on the Unifi 30Mbps plan will be upgraded to 300Mbps, 50Mbps will be upgraded to 500Mbps and subscribers on the Unifi 100Mbps plan will be upgraded to 800Mbps. TM also revealed that the 800Mbps plan would have upload speeds of up to 200Mbps. Also, if you’re a subscriber of a Unifi plan that’s below 20Mbps, you will be upgraded to 100Mbps.

I guess you are new in this thread? Xefron is genuine TM insider and his info is proven to be 100% reliable. Many people in this thread can vouch for that. Of course, you can say it could be fake since no proof of that. But we choose to believe based on his track record, which is always 100% corrrect since day 1.

In fact Xefron was the one to tell us about 800Mbps before TM announced it to the public.

why cant TM just simply reset all 100mbps accounts to 800 mbps immediately; after all 100m users have the equipment ready brows.gif

becoz of infra structure and limited network capacity in some selected area...

no need to 100M user ler. very few users have the old pre gigabit btu & some newer users already get AC1200 router from TM.
that can easily do 100M & 300M speed wirelessly  brows.gif
my router is ready for 500Mbps kemon TM gimmme  rclxm9.gif
*
But my DIR850L only gave my 2.4Ghz phone surfing at 135/144Mbps while sometime dropped to 65Mbps since we got no options to fixed setting 40Mhz instead of Auto 20/40Mhz.

While 5Ghz only reachable 585Mbps instead of 867Mbps advertised.

So I'm thinking below 50% of maximum achievable speed for 2.4Ghz devices, while nearly 70% of full speed for 5Ghz devices...

In sg ppl are alr happy if their international bw is above 20mbps during peak hour. doh.gif ...tm i dunno how they handle
*
True, in Korea even we got 100Mbps fiber but average 20-30Mbps is more than enough already...

Same with Taiwan, but their line is extremely strong and stable, hardly disconnect or bumpy speed...

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jul 20 2018, 05:29 PM)
Just get your own router, and stop using their stock router. Done.
*
LOL, 100Mbps is enough for me and my families, just 3 of us and mostly time just light surfing...

If I need SuperInternet, I'll renting VPS for Gigabits speed for short-term... tongue.gif

We have always talked about it. You might not noticed it. What most people here did (myself included) is go to TMpoint and ask for a discount. TM employee would say this la, that la, you know typical bs can't do this can't do that but if you push hard enough they will give you a discount. Old customer is literally getting screwed because TM will never give discount or offer, period. They would just keep quiet and let these suckers customer pay crazy money every month.

So you have to be vigilant and know what the current pricing is, what everyone else is paying, then you can go to TMpoint and argue your case. Else, if you simply go there they will bs you and you won't get squat. This is Malaysia la, gotta fight for everything if you want to have better life.
*
My request to TM more simple but also get rejected/ignored...

Why forced everyone to pay extra for those stupid bundles? Someone might just need internet access only...

What about new sign up from 1st Jan 2019, customer gets 300, 500 or 800 straight away ?
*
Short answer is NO, due to some old infra/area still powering VDSL...

Maybe another few years and YB Gobind success help Malaysians get Internet as basic human rights.
Also got mentioned that every new building (including High-rise) must come with fiber infra... (not sure it's VDSL or FTTH)

1Gbps still OK, above (say 1.5Gbps or 2Gbps) then I'll have to start upgrading everything. Probably the only thing left untouched would be my cabling. Assuming they're good enough for 2Gbps.

Rumors that TIME might TRIPLED to 1500Mbps soon? rclxms.gif

My LAN connected devices all supported Gigabits, but phone only 500+ Mbps and mostly 2.4Ghz only 65-144Mbps
But it's still OK for me... tongue.gif tongue.gif

They always say that one. Everyone’s a priority customer. Make friend with neighbor and get a backup line. biggrin.gif Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Don’t want to scare you but my neighbour had a weird problem with her line and it took TM 7 weeks to restore her service. What happened was a contractor who was installing unifi for another neigbour disconnected my neigbour’s line because his documentation or whatever indicated that it was not-in-use.

What’s your problem btw? No power, no PON signal?
*
Actually he can do this LOUDLY just like Maxshit was spreaded in Twitter/Forum/Facebook then technicians will come to your doorsteps as REAL TOP PRIORITY...

Maybe faulty BTU or adapter, if the white light LINK kept blinking...

My's whole statewide internet cables linking to Fibercomm internet backbone only 2.5Gbps...
I'm so curious how is TM/TIME able offer you 2.5Gbps internet then?

While having TV subscription being forced upon is never being a good thing, you'll be grateful that we don't have to deal with unexpected price hikes and hidden fees, which is very common among US ISPs.  icon_idea.gif

I'd rather take a TV subscription and paying the same price rather than taking an Internet-only subscription, only to find out they can simply cram in hidden fees or even unauthorized paid speed upgrades (Yes, it's actually a thing in some ISPs, but not here)  icon_idea.gif
*
tongue.gif tongue.gif LOL, we stay in Asia, so please use Asian ISPs to make comparisons.
Asian ISPs can offer faster speed when kept paid extra for international bandwidth fees, so don't COMPARE with US/EU bloody sucker ISPs...

No.2 you happy with TV or other JUNKIE services is your own problems, many Malaysians don't even look at those stupid HyppTV since we got Astro and Free-to-aires already...
It's FINE for them to offer as ADD-ON but not as BUNDLES~ (FYI, lite users didn't even get the STB how we watching with families?)

The 10Gbps I'm referring to is for internal LAN. More of an experiment to see if I can get that speed with my existing Cat5e cables. For internet there's no need for 2.5, 5 or 10Gbps LAN until UniFi goes over 1Gbps.
*
LOL, that's called INTRANET, 10Gbps without issues if you using CAT-6a or CAT-7 cables...

I wish but my area no TIME, not even the condos. In any case, their highest speed is a well-known 500Mbps. I'm surprised.

Don't get suprise so soon, my area got TIME but not offers to any residential or commercials, unless you lease DARK FIBER.
500Mbps will become history soon, heard over 1Gbps is coming soon as TIME busy deployed more DWGM and kept changing new cables...

And Unifi is still 100Mbps to be upgraded to 800Mbps. I think you've been following right?

Yes, I'm followed. But 800Mbps was NOT SUPRISED me because I was asked for price reductions instead of speed upgrades.
Even TM offer me 1Gbps, I'm also NOT FANCY for it as I've used them in Singapore, UK, Netherlands, New York before. REALLY NOTHING SPECIALS FOR IT.

However, in 3-6 months and subject to budget limitations, MY ethernet backbone will be running at 10Gbps subject to, of course, technical limitations.
*

Nvm, just use 10Gbps or 100Gbps as you like since it's INTRANET...

Can only remove Ruby after >12 month so as not to incur penalty fees. Ultimate cant be removed cos it was packaged as part of the RYE2017 upgrade.  I am now on 30Mbps@rm49+STD@rm20+Ultimate@rm60 and will be turboupgraded in Aug to Dec 2018.
*
Great, I'm opt-out Ruby soon in coming 2-3 months.
Otherwise I'm might DOWNGRADE to Unifi Basic after contract end...
30Mbps is fast enough for light usages
