In a series of examples, TM says that existing users on the Unifi 30Mbps plan will be upgraded to 300Mbps, 50Mbps will be upgraded to 500Mbps and subscribers on the Unifi 100Mbps plan will be upgraded to 800Mbps. TM also revealed that the 800Mbps plan would have upload speeds of up to 200Mbps. Also, if you’re a subscriber of a Unifi plan that’s below 20Mbps, you will be upgraded to 100Mbps.

I guess you are new in this thread? Xefron is genuine TM insider and his info is proven to be 100% reliable. Many people in this thread can vouch for that. Of course, you can say it could be fake since no proof of that. But we choose to believe based on his track record, which is always 100% corrrect since day 1.

And received call from TM offering to upgrade my 50Mbps rm179 to 100Mbps at rm229. Straight away say no. Lol

Sure or not.. Later you wait next year August and still not upgraded, while others have.. Still wait silently? 

why cant TM just simply reset all 100mbps accounts to 800 mbps immediately; after all 100m users have the equipment ready

no need to 100M user ler. very few users have the old pre gigabit btu & some newer users already get AC1200 router from TM.
that can easily do 100M & 300M speed wirelessly 
my router is ready for 500Mbps kemon TM gimmme 

TM don't promise wireless speeds, only at the network port using LAN

luckily, my house all wired up in gigabit LAN

We have always talked about it. You might not noticed it. What most people here did (myself included) is go to TMpoint and ask for a discount. TM employee would say this la, that la, you know typical bs can't do this can't do that but if you push hard enough they will give you a discount. Old customer is literally getting screwed because TM will never give discount or offer, period. They would just keep quiet and let these suckers customer pay crazy money every month.

So you have to be vigilant and know what the current pricing is, what everyone else is paying, then you can go to TMpoint and argue your case. Else, if you simply go there they will bs you and you won't get squat. This is Malaysia la, gotta fight for everything if you want to have better life.

1Gbps still OK, above (say 1.5Gbps or 2Gbps) then I'll have to start upgrading everything. Probably the only thing left untouched would be my cabling. Assuming they're good enough for 2Gbps.

They always say that one. Everyone’s a priority customer. Make friend with neighbor and get a backup line. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Don’t want to scare you but my neighbour had a weird problem with her line and it took TM 7 weeks to restore her service. What happened was a contractor who was installing unifi for another neigbour disconnected my neigbour’s line because his documentation or whatever indicated that it was not-in-use.

What’s your problem btw? No power, no PON signal?

Again, 7 months is way too long for that upgrade - mine in this case is just 2 months

While having TV subscription being forced upon is never being a good thing, you'll be grateful that we don't have to deal with unexpected price hikes and hidden fees, which is very common among US ISPs. 

I'd rather take a TV subscription and paying the same price rather than taking an Internet-only subscription, only to find out they can simply cram in hidden fees or even unauthorized paid speed upgrades (Yes, it's actually a thing in some ISPs, but not here) 

Well New Minister said there will be 25% discount for UNIFI end of the year just hope so it happens....

The 10Gbps I'm referring to is for internal LAN. More of an experiment to see if I can get that speed with my existing Cat5e cables. For internet there's no need for 2.5, 5 or 10Gbps LAN until UniFi goes over 1Gbps.

I wish but my area no TIME, not even the condos. In any case, their highest speed is a well-known 500Mbps. I'm surprised.

Don't get suprise so soon, my area got TIME but not offers to any residential or commercials, unless you lease DARK FIBER.
500Mbps will become history soon, heard over 1Gbps is coming soon as TIME busy deployed more DWGM and kept changing new cables...

Yes, I'm followed. But 800Mbps was NOT SUPRISED me because I was asked for price reductions instead of speed upgrades.
Even TM offer me 1Gbps, I'm also NOT FANCY for it as I've used them in Singapore, UK, Netherlands, New York before. REALLY NOTHING SPECIALS FOR IT.

However, in 3-6 months and subject to budget limitations, MY ethernet backbone will be running at 10Gbps subject to, of course, technical limitations.


Nvm, just use 10Gbps or 100Gbps as you like since it's INTRANET...

Can only remove Ruby after >12 month so as not to incur penalty fees. Ultimate cant be removed cos it was packaged as part of the RYE2017 upgrade.  I am now on 30Mbps@rm49+STD@rm20+Ultimate@rm60 and will be turboupgraded in Aug to Dec 2018.
