QUOTE(ZhangFei @ Jul 24 2018, 03:30 PM) I'm using unifi now and also eligible for upgrade. Just check for fun and discover my address and the other address share the same address id. Unifi and Streamyx have different IDs. Example, in my Taman area, there are both streamyx and Unifi coverage. For same house, Streamyx AddressId is 1062XXXX (ICP) while Unifi AddressId is 957XXXX (NOVA). Go check again and you will see two different AddressId. Search accordingly at https://rhombuscake.me/tm/ Streamyx address (ICP) and Unifi address (NOVA)

QUOTE(StuartLee2015 @ Jul 24 2018, 10:21 PM) May i ask what's those list you are all checking and what for? lol i don't understand any at all pardon me. Checking for fiber, vdsl, non-subb/subb. Non-subb area with fiber coverage will probably get offer to upgrade to unifi lite and finally turbo upgrade. Subb area and vdsl high rise can kiss goodbye to turbo upgrade. Subb area can subscribe to vdsl Unifi Lite 10Mbps, which might get upgraded to 20Mbps (if tm still follows its original SUBB plan) Non-subb area without fiber coverage are f*cked. Maybe checking the copper wire distance for streamyx too? And type of hardware in DSLAM and its max dsl speed? See if there is room for streamyx 2x upgrade.

QUOTE(crixalisrox @ Jul 25 2018, 12:39 AM) I don't get it "FiberToPremise": "N","TypeDP": "FTTH",means currently using copper line ? Currently on 100mbps and didn't receive turbo email but previously check website show will upgrade aug-dec 2018 I worry that two bolded stuff means your connection isn't full fibre. Maybe the backbone is copper based like the one I draw below

QUOTE(crixalisrox @ Jul 25 2018, 01:01 AM) You gotta ask TM if they make use of copper as backhaul for those fiber<--->copper cabinet....... I read somewhere that some ISPs in UK actually used such implementation resulting in subpar 'fiber' internet connection. This is why the term 'FULL FIBRE' is very important.....

QUOTE(terradrgn @ Jul 25 2018, 01:30 AM) Hm.. Then does that mean the statement that all FTTH will receive the upgrade is wrong? Maybe ....... QUOTE(biloxee @ Jul 25 2018, 02:19 AM) Come on bro. You really think the connection from the local exc to the main exc will be copper? Mine is exactly like yours but I have received the congratulatory email... CODE "CopperTM": "Y", "FiberToPremise": "N", "PremiseTypeClass": "Residential", "DDP": "", "TypeDP": "FTTH", "DPVendor": "HUAWEI", "SufficientBandwidth": "Y", "LocationDP": "ON POLE", "CopperCond": "Good", "PremiseCategory": "Landed"
Maybe not local exchange to main exchange, but between cabinet to cabinet.

Blame TM marketing team for it. No, your area only has 8Mbps streamyx max. No unifi lite. (If it is SUBB, then you can opt for 10Mbps vdsl unifi lite, too bad for you) Since I can't find NOVA ID for your address, it means no fiber deployment (or inactive fiber network) in your area.

QUOTE(wilson1stop @ Jul 25 2018, 02:44 PM) I'm wondering why Penang island somemore is 2nd biggest cities, but mostly areas was non-SUBB also... Too limited network capacity of local internet exchanges or hard to upgrade infra to fiber? Let be optimistic......there are two reasons why an area is designated as NON-SUBB: 1) TM is planning for fiberisation on that area. HSBB area. or 2) There is no planning for fiberisation on that area. No need to think too much about it. QUOTE(AmeiN @ Jul 25 2018, 02:45 PM) Can check port availability also? or need to go tm Not my address. Different floor and unit. same block je Don't bother with upgrade to 8Mbps (unless if you aim for that RM100 8Mbps package [new subscriber only]). You will not get 10Mbps. wilson1stop miswrote.

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Jul 27 2018, 03:18 PM) Can I know what is the purpose of checking this information? I got it but dont know how to read. QUOTE(agewisdom @ Jul 27 2018, 03:20 PM) 1. Check max mbps for Streamyx 2. Check whether your area covered by UNIFI 3. Check max speed on UNIFI Mainly so... you know whether they will upgrade your Streamyx speed... if you're below max, maybe Streamyx x2 If in UNIFI area, hopefully upgrade to UNIFI lite. The most important stuff = check if the area is designated as SUBB or NON-SUBB. If the area is SUBB, can give up on getting fiber.

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Jul 31 2018, 12:14 AM) If I heard correctly, there may be a replacement to NFP and the new grant scheme will be called ''National Fiberisation and end connectivity Plan''. And one more thing he said at the very least will try to get double speed half price by year end. Just hoping for these to materialise in few months to come. The part about HALF PRICE is the most critical. After all, no point getting 300Mbps to 1Gbps since we will not be able to reach that kind of speed due to "best effort".

QUOTE(Ben Ling @ Jul 31 2018, 08:55 PM) Unifi is recently so damn slow especially at night, youtube loading issue, play store slow speed downloading and some website also slow Disabled IPV6 and seems to be better I guess. QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Jul 31 2018, 09:48 PM) They testing their new traffic shaping contraptions. Prepare for more poor connections.. (hint: check yr packet loss to intl servers) Probably TM is testing throttling with IPv6 first as not many customers use IPv6. Lesser 'sample' for testing to avoid mass complaint.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 31 2018, 10:28 PM) 6th July? But we are few hours to August now? Did you mean August? 5000 is too little, TM should be more aggressive. Based on TM annual report 2017, there are 1.1 million unifi subscribers. I read somewhere around 900k+ unifi users are eligible for turbo. 900k/5k = 180 days = 6 months?
