QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 7 2020, 01:43 PM) https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/jn...hese_companies/dumbass steve strikes again before dumbass steve had a bad lottery on his giga eagle hence his dumbass brain doesnt recommend. now colorful which actually been ballin on ampere on components/bios but dumbass steve silicon luck was bad.. btw did u see dumbass steve doing port royal on ln2 zen 3.. its like a merry go round with the three dufus.. That tweet was horrible. If I were any GPU companies I wouldn't want to send cards to people that can't keep private communications private. We don't even know the context of the conversation, and now Colorful is public enemy #1 thanks to his tweet. Which company is next? Whoever still sponsors these people will really need to consider the damage he can cause to their companies. I wouldn't be surprised if Colorful would file a lawsuit against him, Chinese companies don't go down without a fight when their brand is insulted and damaged like this. Very disrespectful to be doing this. This post has been edited by FatalExe: Nov 7 2020, 02:49 PM

QUOTE(sakuraboo @ Nov 7 2020, 02:56 PM) Yeah i find this behaviour brash and rude However from a consumer standpoint, it's nice to see someone sticking up to these companies instead of sucking up all the time just to get future releases, freebies, exclusive pre release samples etc. I like seeing differing opinions especially critical ones. even though it may have been the worst card in it's model, there are very minimal differences, and for most people the price saved is a huge difference The point is, we don't know what colorful said to him. What is strong arm and "influencing"? The video is already out, so how can colorful strong arm him? It just reads as him flaunting his influence and having an ego trip. Heck, I would say he is the one strong arming companies. Now companies gonna walk on eggshells during their PR conversations with this guy. You never know when your conversations will get twisted. These people are very hard to work with. This post has been edited by FatalExe: Nov 7 2020, 03:03 PM

QUOTE(Current Events guy @ Nov 7 2020, 03:50 PM) I appreciate the transparency from him and other tech reviewers that speak up when they perceive a problem. They have a huge following which occasionally entices companies to provide a response. When the companies give their input, it's up to the viewers to decide how big of a deal it is to affect their purchasing decisions. Other reviewers that dont have their clout are 'strong armed' into silence by the companies for fear of legal action or losing sponsorships which doesnt help them or their viewers. It's not transparency when there's no context provided.. it's just outrage marketing for his own channel

QUOTE(Current Events guy @ Nov 7 2020, 07:11 PM) Yep, he's willing to call out companies even if it means losing their support, like his coverage on MSI. If he's putting his would-be sponsors on the line, then I'm sure he wouldnt mind to lose subscribers that disagree with him Yes, but I'm referring to his content as a whole. Definitely not determining the quality of his channel or his integrity over one tweet. I mean, who would disqualify years of content over a few socmed posts right? Since when did I criticize his other content though? I talked specifically about his tweet and the implications of it. Thats the topic we are discussing right now. Judging from how much compromise that PS5 games need to make for any sort of serious ray tracing, its safe to say NVIDIA really remains king with DLSS + dedicated RTX cores etc.

QUOTE(thisisrazin @ Nov 11 2020, 03:43 PM) DLSS isn't better than native 4K. Check out Digital Foundry's Control DLSS video (the last one they uploaded on the subject). It resolves jagged lines better even when compared to 4K, but the images are still blurry as it is of a lower resolution. 4K is still sharper, this is obvious when zooming in on small objects and comparing between the two. At best, it's just a better anti-aliasing method. Did I say DLSS is better than native 4K? Why do you keep on putting words in people's mouth?

QUOTE(ssxxcool @ Nov 11 2020, 04:00 PM) to me ps5 alrdy impressive but for me, i'll wait for the ps5 pro version lol. besides, the games are expensive PS5 is very impressive for the price. I'm going to pre-order it actually. Just pondering the RT performance and how it will relate to AMD 6000 series as well since it will be similar. QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 11 2020, 04:44 PM) Water is wet, Idiots are wack, Stating the obvious crap? There are many videos being released in the last 48 hours like the DMC5 RT analysis, which is why I commented on the topic. Its not an obvious thing because consoles have low level access to hardware and optimization can be done to squeeze out all the power. Never thought there would be PS5 die hard fanboys in an NVIDIA thread which took offense over a simple comment though. Funny place this is

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 11 2020, 05:23 PM) I mean sure you made a legit fair point, but why did you even bring up the PS5 in the first place? No one was talking about the PS5 nor was there even a mention of it in the last 10 pages. Because ray tracing will obviously be pushed by Devs thanks to the new consoles supporting it, and we finally have a point of reference for NVIDIA Vs AMD in Ray tracing? Guess I should have made it clearer that it was in comparison with AMD instead.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 16 2020, 04:03 PM) another way. in home streaming. the steam one is terrible but gfe streaming with moonlight apparently pretty dam good. Don't bother with Steam Link. Terrible input latency, video/audio latency and lots of resolution issues if your monitor doesn't match with your TV. It also stresses the GPU more than it should, causing frames to suffer. Moonlight uses the NVIDIA GameStream API, its super low latency and minimal GPU strain due to better implementation/usage of NVENC. I have Moonlight on my Sony 4K TV running at 4K 60FPS at 150mbps bit rate with no issues. HDR doesn't work well though for some reason. Also works super smoothly on my Samsung phone and PS Vita. QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Nov 16 2020, 05:52 PM) Cool! Thanks I will checking out and I also have Horizon Zero Dawn, haha but currently only can play as SDR until I get a HDR monitor or connected to my LG C9 TV. lol, what are you talking... ... Moonlight uses your home WiFi/local networking to stream games from your PC to any Moonlight devices. It uses NVIDIA's GameStream protocol. Its available on many OS including Android TV. However your LG C9 doesn't run Android.. You can look into getting an Android TV device such as NVIDIA Shield Pro, which supports 4K HDR. In that case, you would use NVIDIA GameStream instead of Moonlight.

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ Nov 17 2020, 12:59 PM) Yes as all mentioned I also had same problem Install nvidia control panel but seems not detecting the card The culprit is the pcie riser Simple.solution change the pcie auto in bios to pcie gen 3 .. fix.it. immediately As those who claim lost of performance? Can you guys back the claim? AFAIK no single card can saturate pcie 3 x16 bandwidth Only a pcie 4 nvme can reach this bandwidth required So if u ask me ; if already has pcie 3 riser not worth spend money to get gen 4 riser But if you don't have one but shopping for one get gen 4 directly Didn't some games show improvement in performance when run in Pcie4 like Horizon Zero Dawn?

QUOTE(mightwil @ Nov 18 2020, 09:28 AM) I am using 27GL850 with my 3080 as well. It's a GOOD IPS Mon without any doubt...as mentioned early, I am just kinda upset, PS5 not support 1440P... From what I read, the 27GL850 supports 4K signal, so you can set your PS5 to 4K mode instead of 1080p. I dont have a PS5 so I can't test it out whether it truly works

The PS5 isn't even out yet, so not sure why you even mentioned gamers choosing it over the 3080? I don't see the relevance or correlation?

QUOTE(mois @ Nov 22 2020, 11:32 AM) Actually what is the benefits using shield on LG oled since the tv can support dolby vision/atmos playback? Im still thinking to get it or not for 4k media playback. Android TV so you get more app support, PS4/PS5 remote play, NVIDIA GameStream/Moonlight, etc etc... I wonder which company is next in GN's radar? He brought down Colorful and initiated outrage against them, which is next? Pity the PR employees that have to email/contact him and walk on eggshells, or else suffer brand damage from his channel, twitter, and fanboys on YouTube twitter and Reddit.

10GB VRAM is really not enough for VR gaming esp on Quest 2.
Quest Link at max resolution (5478x2736) uses (not allocated) almost the full 10GB for most games.

My ASrock b550m steel legend disables 2 SATA ports if there is a 2nd PCIE M2 SSD. Not a big deal unless you run alot of drives

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Dec 7 2020, 12:12 PM) DLSS I think every games also can hit 100fps, but certain games DLSS is so ugly, for example Shadow of Tomb Raider. After compare, I cannot use DLSS in that games anymore. Can't compare DLSS 1.0 with 2.0+

Cyberpunk is amazing. The level of detail and denseness of the open world is INCREDIBLE.
It's not even comparable with any other open world game in terms of graphics.
Getting 45-70fps everything on 1440p ultra +RT with DLSS quality. Film grain, chromatic aberration turned off and graphics looks clean. RTX 3080 + Ryzen 7 3700x.
With adaptive sync I'm happy with 45fps because the world is just too beautiful. Gamers don't realize this isn't Witcher 3, Death Stranding, or a last gen game with a barren wasteland or low quality props. The last game I played, Horizon Zero Dawn does 75fps on 1440p maxed.
This game absolutely blows HZD out of the water, and from the comparison, the frame rate is logical.
Atmosphere of the game is incredible as well. In the background you can hear banter in Japanese, Mandarin, English, and TV channels, billboards in multilingual, everywhere you go in just the first 45mins is densely packed with side quests etc etc... So far, this is the best open world game I played in a long time
