why ler AMD always had the pelik pelik issues.
*
because budget is different on their engineering teams, intel iron out most issues before releasing anything (can still happen where serious things uncovered but way less issue), amd engineering team simply too small, release saja. Even their Epic platform had issues last time.

To be fair, both Intel and AMD has their own subset of issues. Don't talk until like Intel is a golden goose, as if they're all divine and can do no wrong. Intel has plenty of bs too.
AMD ain't all that amazing either, overhyped these days of course because they came from the brink of bankruptcy to be able to fight Intel again. That's commendable, but it doesn't mean they're invulnerable to issues.

The whole Ryzen is an unstable piece of engineering mess is also overblown. Just like how Sky, Comet, Rocket Lakes are all as hot as nuclear plants are all overblown topics.

As usual, people like to talk shit about products that are on the hype train, then likes to praise products that are the underdog. Years ago, everyone talks shit about Intel too then now suddenly everyone hopes and wants them to take back their throne with Alder Lake. Everyone is a hypocrite is my point because neither camps are perfect.

No offense but we're all just fickle minded consumers at the end of the day. Just buy the product that fits your work/play best in accordance to your budget, change or upgrade when the time comes.
*
well some of the problems are really annoying, like my cousin had his mouse disconnected while gaming last time, albeit it happens very rarely but still very annoying.

just like ampere random crashes like time, too annoying.

4790k pairs well with 1070. If want faster GPU, better change to new CPU platform as well, CPU bottleneck is sadding, microstutters everywhere

I5 10th gen with 3070ti

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Oct 20 2021, 10:39 PM)
Huh? I had the i5 10400F with 3080 and it's much much faster than my 3600,3700x and matching 5600x in gaming fps. You need to do some memory tuning i guess to increase the bandwidth and reduce latency.
*
I pair 8700k with 3090, most games run fine except some heavy CPU usage games like cyberpunk where at times it can be CPU bottlenecked but maybe like 20% of the time

Unlimited power limit, crank up the cache, fast and tight memory.. most importantly get a dual rank kit.

3070 and 3070 is very close

1070 and 1070ti is actually farther. Overclocked 1070ti is actually slightly faster than 1080

My AX1200i still ok. From 2014.

AX850 & 1000 are based on Seasonic prime ultra series.
I have the Ax850 to replace my Seasonic 860 platinum which started to degrade after 9 years.

if hat happens when it degraded?

Unstable power/ voltages supplied resulting in reboots. May still use the psu in idle desktop mode. However once u load it up e.g starting a game , system will be unstable.
*
is it on your 3090? some have mentioned that it was because the ax860 is too sensitive to spikes and entered the protection mode to reboot. happened to me too on 3090 but not 3070 (even with oc)

i mostly mine now so running undervolted and system is stable.

made a bad choice for going 3080ti , overkilled for my dota gaming session , if i wanted to downgrade to 3060 , do i need to downgrade my PSU too ? currently using 850w PSU
*
no need to downgrade PSU, it'll just provide the amount of power your system draws + additional energy losses from the energy conversion. If you have gold or platinum rated PSU, at low power consumption it'll still provide over 90% efficiency.

OR, run some ethereum mining software while gaming lol, I play valorant and the mining still ran over 80mh/s. Totally smooth, ampere is a monster

3080Ti is LSH, not for mining

unlocked using special mining softwares, can get max 83mh/s on oced, not bad almost non-LHR 3080 speed

But which coin is profitable mined with single GPU nowadays? Considering the electricity bill that we need to pay. hmm.gif
*
for lhr cards ethereum or ravencoin iinn

on mine, maybe i get 400-500 per month, and my electricity bill for whole house is less than rm150, that includes another pc, fridge and freezer, no aircon. i only mine like 10-18 hours a day depending on bad weather, or i go out etc.

but mine is not lhr, lhr slightly lower returns

i only turn it off when playing heavy games

suncycle rma so fast
3 weeks onli

but i starting to like my 3070 over the 3070ti, less heat and almost same performance

any taker? EVGA 3070 ti FTW3
*
maybe for 3070ti if want less heat, undervolt it
ampere is really efficient on undervolting, barely lose much performance

software compatible mode actually ran pretty nice too

previously a bit sucky because alt tabbing caused problems, seems like updated geforce driver made it seemless now

If you're using MAXIS line, it can have really weird issues with certain sites and content, at certain times. Like they are throttling to save money.

i had the same problem sometimes, and 90% of the time when it happened restarting the modem fixed it

but why spent alot to watercool older parts other than for aesthetics. Because if you want to argue about better temperatures, you can get similar performance at low temperatures by using newer cards and severely undervolt them, like rtx3080 cards, or even rtx3070 cards.

Well if one get hold of a cheap 2080 back in 2019 and now you need double amount of money to get the 'similar performance newer cards', then no harm to watercool the old part right. Unless we are talking previous time where flag ship like 3080 only about 2-3k.
*
if you sell 2080 plus money invested for watercooling parts, you could get 3070-3080, thats why i mentioned the range of those two cards.
