QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 8 2020, 11:35 AM) 100% fan speed is manual I think. Yeah, you might wanna upgrade casing to the one with better sound dampening. But people compared sound dampening casing vs airflow casing. When both casings are sound pressure level normalized, the airflow casing performed better thermally...

QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 8 2020, 03:58 PM) Depends on casing. As a proud owner of Define S2, no noise and temp issue. I even used a 60mm Delta fan inside running at 3000-4500rpm. lol fuiyo not loud? I myself missed the 600rpm fan config in my case, but for the better thermal i need to ran at 1200rpm which is quite noticeable when the room is dead silent

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 11 2020, 09:37 AM) wait long long Dam the new apple M1 chip looks nice, seems like they are trying to market it to deep learning users like you lol the unified memory tech, i wonder how the performance will be for cpu+gpu workloads like 3d rendering too, they are promoting it via cinema4d on the announcement, wonder how big the difference is vs discreet GPUs, since it only has 2.7teraflops of compute.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 11 2020, 11:14 AM) deep learning also requires alot of vram so not sure how much apple provides... besides CUDA is needed so not sure where apple gonna fit in at the moment 3090 is the best but due to budget, 3080 jer lah. apple M1 only had 16GB unified RAM shared by both the CPU and GPU, impossible to upgrade since it is soldered along with the soc. Yeah really curious how it would compete with nvidia on this.

QUOTE(Fizzy-Fiz @ Nov 11 2020, 11:53 AM) doubt it will be much better the separation between 3080 and 3090 is already thin, doubt theyll cannibalize themselves but again, this is a weird time. amd claims it can beat nvidia for cheaper prices, consoles are out, and now apple says a thing again because of covid, computing marketshare got a big bloom lol

QUOTE(thisisrazin @ Nov 13 2020, 10:00 PM) GPU stopped working mid-game in Rainbow Six at 2k 165hz. Signal just completely died and PC reset. I thought my 650w power supply would be enough (at least for a few months) but it's clearly not. Recommend me some decent Power supply for my PC. i7 9700k 4.9ghz @1.28v 16gb HyperX 3200mhz ram (OC with XMP profile) Gigabyte 3080 Vision OC (Stock but planning on overclocking because the thermals are excellent) Also running a 2k 165hz monitor, and I even plan on adding 4k 60hz monitor for cinematic games. Don't really know about power draw so need some recommendations on which PSU I should get. I don't think you should overclock the GPU when using 750watt power supply since your 9700k oced is sucking up some power already.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 14 2020, 09:56 AM) So far my SF750 able to take the hit. But it's an SFX and it's actually a greatwall 850W module but with a 750W labeling to reach the effeciency certifications... So moral of the story, skip to 850W if Gold, If you want to get 750W, make sure it's at least platinum or titanium. (and my setup is an ITX which has very low power draw anyways) oced 9700k can use like 200 watts of power leh. My 8700k at 4.7Ghz can use over 150 watts haha

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Nov 14 2020, 10:28 AM) My 3070 hits 75 degree C while gaming (AC Odyssey). The fan spins at 70% and it's quite loud. Is this normal? what's the room temp?

QUOTE(thisisrazin @ Nov 14 2020, 12:30 PM) Wow bro, you just cracked the code! Basically just buy the most expensive thing available and never have to worry again for a long time!! Can't believe I didn't think of this before!!! some power supplies are not really the most expensive. I bought my old seasonic x-850 for like rm660 last time, performed well and since it is rated gold, even if the computer doesn't draw that much power, the power supply is still efficient. Power supplies nowadays are even cheaper and you can get a platinum rated 850 watts not that expensive too, so why skimp that part? It doesn't lose performance in newer games like CPU and GPU does lol

QUOTE(alfiejr @ Nov 15 2020, 10:17 AM) Thanks. Learnt something new today đŸ˜† Last time I kena, headache as hell because the PC just kept on blackscreen and games crashed randomly. Took a gamble and bought a new PSU and the problem went away. Never had any more stability issues after that. Crazy thing is the problem only happens on the second or third year I used the cheap power supply, I guess the parts inside degraded. This post has been edited by terradrive: Nov 15 2020, 10:51 AM

QUOTE(thisisrazin @ Nov 15 2020, 07:32 PM) Problem is, people who encourage and shame people to use these unknown brands are never the same ones that are using it in their rig. That really says a lot. If it is so good, you would be using it. But you're not. The conversation begins and ends there. Super flower is not exactly unknown, it was pretty popular in the USA since many years ago. I would had used a super flower if it was available for me to buy last time, because it's cheap and most of the models they offered had top tier components

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 15 2020, 09:32 PM) Deswai I always only recommend over the top stuff that I wish I could get clearance from my wife to put in my rig... ignoring their budget and encourage them to increase it Just like how terradrive end up with a DT770 pro lol the DT770 Pro 250ohm is one of the best purchases I ever had, still using it now and it works so well with my current Asrock motherboard's integrated sound amplifier and the ALC1220 (sounded so awesome with tidal hifi). It works so well in practicing drums on song covers when I had a short stint in a band with colleagues lol. This post has been edited by terradrive: Nov 15 2020, 10:42 PM

QUOTE(LongLastFX @ Nov 20 2020, 10:18 AM) Because airflow is measured in CFM (cubic feet per minute or air displaced) and static pressure is measured in H2O (mm-H2O or inch-H20). Static pressure is used if the fans needs to push air through resistance such as the AIO radiator fins. Both types of fans has different fan profile and shape. QUOTE(llk @ Nov 20 2020, 10:33 AM) If not mistaken distributor of Galax in Malaysia is Eternal Asia Sdn Bhd from PJ where PNY & Inno3d (Ichill is the product name) are distributed by the company called Fusion Tech Supply Sdn Bhd based in Teluk Intan Perak. ty
