the max power you can get from 2X8 pin on paper is 300W. Plus drawing from the PCI-E is 75W, total 375W. So no matter how super powderful the cooler or whatever or how many VRM and caps the cards comes with, you only get 340-370W minus on the fans and RGB, which translates to 1980Mhz~ average clock or worse on an average binned gpu. 

In short, you're paying for so much more for the paper specs.. especially if RM4K+ but getting bottlenecked by the max power it could draw

... yes arguably ripple matters if you compare like the zotac and the tuf for getting the max overclocking... but if you already had a damn good PSU with ripple suppression, the difference is negligible... and thanks to the power limit you cant go that high anyways.

so if you wanna spend 4K+, at least get a card with 3x8pin. Else pay no more than 3.6K for a 2x8pin.

This has to be a joke. So even with blurry upscaling crap aka DLSS, the game just barely averages 65fps and even dips to the high 30s.... at 1440p. So people without RTX cards can just go f themselves I guess.

after seeing afew media downplaying the strix with the tuf now, I think tuf is now being upmarket to high tier and will cost more onwards

strix will remain as the flagship and asus can still charge whatever they want

tuf is now high tier and the earliest run of MSRP price is just marketing scam at its finest
it is no longer the base model, it's at the same tier as the gaming trio

Upgraded to a colorful igame rtx 3080 from an 1080ti

Initially had my doubts about the brand and not a fan of the in your face rgb lightning, but after spending sometime with it, found it pretty solid and apparently colorful is a top selling brand in China beating msi asus gigabyte etc, plus they did revise the capacitors to 4 POSCAPS + 2 MLCC so kudos to colorful

70c 100% load max fan speed (stock FE speed), pretty good for thermals

Bought at outrageous price at 4k, but then again I did sold my 1080ti at good price so kinda balanced it out

Performance is pretty much 2x 1080ti, running my protein simulation studies at half the time.

4k is cheap... what a world we live in now LOL
