I've rerun the test with power limit to 96% (~290w) and overclock the chip +25 ( ~1950Mhz) Im getting better result ![]() QUOTE(mightwil @ Nov 24 2020, 11:00 AM) I'm shock, while i notice your 1080p get 85FPS in 3080... just realize there is your avg... did you aware when the 3 FPS happen in game...or just a bug benchmark... QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 24 2020, 11:02 AM) open up your gpuz and see if youre hitting perfcap: pwr. many boards even my zotac included will throttle due to hitting the power limit and the frames will momentarily drop. Some boards my throttle more aggressively. Solution is by undervolting the card. Im able to keep the board power draw below 300w and pump out 1965mhz and no more such sudden stutters. However if you own those 3pin behemoth, try increasing your power allowance. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 24 2020, 11:09 AM) Bonchi liked this post

QUOTE(nrw @ Nov 24 2020, 02:58 PM) You got any tuning tools (MSI Dragon Center, NZXT stuff, ...) running? possible to show the screenshot of the benchmark run? with the setting as optimized by nvidia driver..Certainly not normal to have these results. I have a 3080 paired with a 5600x myself n results are way better. |

i would have bought the colorful.. as long i can get the cheapest 3080..
i still wonder why ppl still want to spend 3070 close to 3080 price... (3k+ on 3070) just because of brand? better cooler? higher O/C? If that the case, just cap the speed of 3080 to match 3070 right? |

QUOTE(faiz2036 @ Nov 25 2020, 11:27 PM) i have a bad experience last time with 5700XT and Radeon driver. i can say the driver is king of crash. after the bad experience, I'm jump to RTX 2070S than upgrade to RTX3080. Peace of mind. my last amd card was R9 290.. had bad experience as well when first got the card.. but after they have optimized it.. it was one of the best card.. had it for so long |

QUOTE(intothefantasy @ Nov 27 2020, 03:20 AM) wanna ask, a friend of mine is selling his 2060 6gb for RM700. wondering is it a good pick over a new 1660 super? since his 2060 i think is like 2 years card? need to know when he buys it but should be around 2 years. the 2060 has better performance (at least 10% more fps) compared to 1660 super .. and should age better than 1660overall is it still better to take the 2060 instead of 1660 super? |

those AIB card ; which sells higher price due to OC version.. does it matter? seems most if not all AIB card can reach higher clock.. just need to use Afterburner to set.. lower voltage.. higher clock... just that those OC version AIB already set in BIOS the higher clock...

If you want measurement for 3080/3090 cards (actual) you can refer here... These people measure whether it fits NZXT N1 case https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jhS...PCs0/edit#gid=0 and a simple hunt of which card to look for the 3x8 power connector QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Nov 28 2020, 12:48 AM) TUF 12.6 doesn't include that piece sticking out below the PCIE power sockets, but I'd expect it to still be less than 14cm total given that the card fits the Ncase perfectly. Zotac cards seem to be all over the place with user reports though. Maybe the users reporting the card fits are tolerating the reverse sag? If I pick this up I might have to fiddle with the front I/O bracket. QUOTE(Bonchi @ Nov 28 2020, 01:50 AM) my bad. was a typo. it’s 14.3cm.. it’s shoulda be kinda touching but not able to create a visible buldge. It would be safer to get the tuf for the M1 in my opinion... you should kinda have expected 70% of the pc building comunity especially on reddit have zero idea what they’re doing.. from the 2 separate build logs that we shared, we can clearly see the reverse sag on the trinity already and it’s definitely putting stress on the card slot. Especially on the one i shared... and it looks like you’ll need to remove at least 2mm chunk of material. Maybe even try look for a different case as it seems the front IO of the m1 will get in the way of any 3slot card that is longer than 30cm. kinda confirming that the igames cant fit as well. part of the reason why the tuf seems to fit perfectly in many of these premium ITX case is because many of these case are designed around the 1080Ti strix which has very similar dimension as the tuf. yimingwuzere liked this post

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Nov 29 2020, 12:30 PM) Nicely done! Your cpu score is a fraction low. Enabled PBO yet? redo the test with PBO enabled For your gpu noticed your temp is a bit high. Instead of allowing following default fan curve you can set fan fixed at around 80% https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/53844151 im havent set the fan curve.. but so far its not noisy at all.. will probably try later ![]() zack.gap liked this post

QUOTE(december88 @ Nov 29 2020, 08:08 PM) colorful rtx 3080 advanced oc doesn't work with 2x8pin, i have this card and tested it with 2x8pin & you will have no display output. did try your setting +700 on memoryAnd the card measured end to end length is actually around 299cm instead of the spec sheet at 315.5 cm. For those curious my 3080 advanced oc Time Spy results with following stable uv setting in afterburner. 1905mhz@0.85v, memory +700, max 70% fan speed during Time Spy test. Ambient temperature 28-29degC. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/53861770? but undervolt to 2040@.987V temp at 30-31 ambient fan curve to auto .. GFX score 18 277 .. but dont think I will run at this setting.. will revert back to probably +200 on memory & below 2000 Mhz on clock just trying out this 'lousy' card stock cooler https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/53863818 |

QUOTE(Melvin117 @ Nov 29 2020, 08:51 PM) Also due to how toasty the 3080 trinity gets, changed the AIO fans of my ID cooling 240L to 2 gentle typhoons why didnt you just set the fan curve lower?instant peace of mind lmao, fkin id cooling fans are just e-waste loud like fkin mat rempits also the screws cant really be used anymore, I used ducktape to stick the fans to the radiator LMAO I did that as well ; temp may be slightly higher but it runs quiet.. all my case fan set between 50 - 70% max (2200rpm if 100%) btw im using ID cooling ZoomFlow 360 for the CPU.. worth the money spent.. i.e may not be the best but the temp doesnt exceed 80 while gaming so its worth the money |

QUOTE(senzr @ Nov 29 2020, 09:03 PM) Too risky for me to use DP-HDMI adapters...I need one for 4K tv and another for PSVR. Adapters are known to cause issues. That’s why my options are limited to (overpriced) models with more than 1 HDMI. At the very least, the Strix and Master/Xtreme will be the highest binned silicon with max OC out of the box. most likely the card would cost near RM5k if you can find any |
