With all the DLSS hoo-hum going around now, I guess Pascal is still a better buy?
GTX 1070 vs RTX2060
GTX 1080 vs RTX2070
GTX 1080 Ti vs RTX2080
If you can find any other Pascal that is.

RTX 2060 vs GTX 1070 Ti but GTX 1070 Ti has 8GB VRAM and can SLI. smile.gif

RTX 2070 vs GTX 1080 - similar, RTX 2070 better option in my book........... unless you get GTX 1080 for some reason. BUT the RTX 2070 can't SLI.

RTX 2080 vs GTX 1080 Ti - 8GB VRAM vs 11GB VRAM.

rtx card = nvidia scam?
sweat.gif  laugh.gif
What scam? Those stuff actually works.

Also what you're paying now is better price to performance ratio than GTX 10 series and you get new tech inside.

Apa lagi mau?

RTX 2060 is RM 1599 range leh.

That performance level was about RM 2.2k - 2.6k previously. smile.gif

I agree with the RTX crazy prices but they are the only cards with RT cores.
When is the price crazy actually?

RTX 2080 Ti can be acquired for under RM 5k, not far off from GTX 1080 Ti was but a lot faster at that.

You get GTX 1080 Ti performance level with RTX 2080 with is RM 3k+, again not crazy price.

The list goes on.

think he meant nvidia maintained the cost performance per dollar for  nearly 4 years.
OK.

RTX 2060 and below are actually really good for performance per dollar.

RTX 2070 and above, slight improvement from before.

At least now there's RTX 2080 Ti for sub RM 5k.

RTX is only considered to be mature when a xx80Ti can do RTX at 4k/60.
For now since I do not play those RTX titles, I don't think the cards are worth it.
The thing is RTX is the term for many technologies underneath, and doing 4k/60 has nothing to do with maturity.

It'll eventually be there once performance improves.

As of now RTX cards are worth every bit you pay for. If you can accept GTX 1080 Ti, RTX 2080 is just as good in price to performance ratio, but you get the RTX tech on it............ whether you use it or not is another thing but hey, free tech bundled into your card isn't a bad thing.

Yeah you can marvel at all the tech underneath, it's only my opinion that I set the maturity benchmark at 4k/60.
If like that then GTX also not matured.

QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Mar 22 2019, 09:49 AM)
I disagree you get the RTX for free getting the 2080. I can't get much choices for new GTX1080 Ti but in the used market, that RTX cost RM800 more.
That would be totally worth it for a Tomb Raider or Metro fans, so again, it is just my own opinion.
Allow me to elaborate.

Back in May 2018 (around that time, and before RTX series launch) the GTX 1080 Ti cards, cheapest you can get is around RM 3.3k.

As of now, RTX 2080 cards you can get cheapest is below RM 3.2k.

That's why I say "Free RTX" - meaning you get GTX 1080 Ti performance level (minus the VRAM amount) but you get the RTX tech. It's not stellar but it's not as bad as what many people have put it.

Agreed, I'm mostly bashed by my friends or other people who doesn't own RTX card.
Once play with Ray Traced settings, will never turn it off. I tried to switch it off in Metro and SOTR, at the end i switched it on again, the environment is dead without it with fake shadows and etc.
It doesn't make sense to go GTX unless it's GTX 16 series. Buying a GTX 10 series now is just paying for similar price to performance ratio minus the tech.

da price... 30% gain but price at 50% more
it feels smoother. dont know how to quantify this
Pretty much, you're using the cheapest model that's sub RM 5k for comparison?

Cards often lose out on price to performance ratio as they go higher up (and lower down as well).

1080ti worst than 2060?
Imagine using software mode or less optimized hardware than the hardware it's made for.

Or if an analogy is required, power drill vs screwdriver.

Gets the job done, just one being faster than the other.

Power efficiency is one of the major reasons people bought a whole lot of GTX 1050 Tis instead of RX 570s even though both being within the same price bracket while the latter performing much better.
And that's the problem when people don't understand power draw.

570 draws a fair bit more but if one is gaming just 1 - 2 hours a day it doesn't even make a difference in electricity bill.

That and people who just want to upgrade OEM PCs, or with ITX builds. 1050 Ti is still the fastest low profile card. Upcoming 1650 and 1650 Tis will take that place. But a lot of people who buy 1050 Tis don't care about power draw, probably don't even know about RX 570s or even if they do, 570s are more expensive than 1050 Tis in their regional markets. Up until the release of the 1660, new RX 570s and 580s were quite expensive in Msia.
*
On the contrary ITX builds can sport really powerful graphics cards.

In place of GTX 1050 Ti range there are the RX 550 / RX 560.

I don't think it's a matter of choice, given that 2016 and 2017 were mining times where even the RX 550 / 560 were snatched up for mining rigs.

Take for example last year in February when I wanted to buy an RX 550 2GB, the shop REFUSED to sell to me unless I pay very high price. I only manage to acquire it because my contact is good with the shop and managed to convince them.

Galaxy was under Scanart, after that MIA, then came back as GALAX under AVF for a while, then no more and now back again under Eternal Asia.

Anyone with 10 series pretty much can hold back from upgrading unless you're GTX 1080 Ti, then your option would be RTX 2080 Ti or go buy another 1080 Ti to run SLI.

5700xt afaik from friends is superb on red dead redemption 2 as with turing because it seems like the game engine has simultaneous vector/integer instruction. other than that its a pretty shitty card for high fps gaming.
OK la, I use RX 5700 for 144fps gaming on titles like Apex Legends and it works fine.

The more concerning issue to me is how my game crashes when I enable ReLive / Performance Monitor. sad.gif

thats not a game that u can say overtly pushed gpu

example overwatch.. theres a strange dip/stutter. from 300 it dips to like double digit.
even on csgo.
Apex actually does push the GPU.

Overwatch, I don't experience that kind of drop though.

As for CS:GO I run FPS Benchmark and have seen max at 500 fps range with min lows at 2 digits.

Hi,

My PC still using 3rd Gen processor i5 3570, if i upgrade my graphic card to GTX1070/1070ti is there any huge bottleneck?

thank you.
*
Confirm sure bottleneck, i5-4670K bottlenecks the GTX 1070.

80-84 is fine, the GPU will throttle and it'll be ok. If i were you, I'll manual 100% fan while gaming, and improve the airflow in the case by maybe using more intake fan. All that just to get that extra few fps and prevent any thermal throttle stutter.

I guess Zotac decided that 70% is the best noise/perf ratio so they max out on that RPM? not sure...
*
At that temperature it won't even throttle.
