It is a developing issue but so far only one post in Reddit indicating 5080s missing ROP. I checked my 5080 this morning and thankfully I have the full 112 ROP

What brand did you get, and how long is your warranty, may I ask?

I bought the monitor with Dell 3 years burned in warranty, so I didnt bother doing the precautions when using OLED monitor. Fast forward to last month, I noticed burned in marks in the windows taskbar, especially on the tray icon on the bottom right. Might be hard to spot in image but it is noticable especially especailly with bright background.

So I contacted Dell and they arranged a one to one exchange the next day. They picked up my monitor and gave the an unsealed similar monitor. Not sure if its a new one or refurb, but I'm selling this one on Carousell if any of you guys are interested.

*
Very nice! thumbsup.gif Dell customer service is definitely top-notch.

From what Dell told me and stuff I read online, it's probably a refurb.
Did you check its condition? I'm interested to know what their refurb QC is like.

Okay, managed to play around a bit with my new AW2725DF QD-OLED.
I must say, so far it's quite impressive, and I haven't even started gaming on it yet.

Watching a 60FPS concert on it made me feel like I was actually there in person, compared to my HP 22es IPS display where it still feels like I'm looking at a screen.

Since I'm still on my old PC, the only setting I tweaked was brightness. I heard OLEDs had issues with not being bright enough, but I had to turn mine down to 20%, even though I had lights on in my room.

Don't forget to do HDR calibration in Win 11.

First thing i got OLED is to play HDR content on youtube  laugh.gif

Instead of using window auto-HDR, try using RTX HDR in Nvidia control panel video settings, it will using AI magic to play video on HDR (applied to youtube SDR content and anything played on browser)

In the same Nvidia control panel video settings, there's AI upscaling for video as well.

On the other hand, for gaming (that doesn't have native HDR), install nvidia apps, launch the nvidia overlay when you run the game, there are plenty of options for filter including applying RTX HDR to your game that is without HDR mode.

It will be very funny if they can do frame gen on video content as well but i can imagine it will be a mess with motion blurring everywhere since it doesn't have movement vector to predict where the object is moving next.
*
Thanks, I'll be doing those things on my new system thumbsup.gif OLEDs sure need a lot of babysitting, but so far it seems to be worth the effort.

But my bundle is very very hefty. Good parts, fair prices for the products, but I needed to bundle with the very best parts. Which I do not mind. Just that it may not be for everyone.

Anyone looking for the same, drop me a PM

Also, has anyone bought a thermistor for their motherboard before? Wondering if the "regular" ones sold online are compatible.

Why do u need that? The motherboard itself already come with temperature sensor
*
I'm getting a 5090, so I want those to monitor the temps of my GPU's power terminal and my PSU's power terminal.
Need to do this because of Nvidia's bad power delivery design and cheapening out on power shunts and fuses which cost like 50 sen each.

Edit: To be clear, they're like temperature sensors you can connect to headers on your motherboard that then report temps to programs like HWiNFO.

Or wait for AMD. Either way I think you’d be in a better position if you wait it out for a few months. You’ll definitely be a smarter consumer than me. sad.gif

Sounds like you got a good deal, though. Baseline 5090 models already cost RM 11K.
But servicing that AIO post-warranty is gonna be tough, isn't it?

Just the thermistor cable (to plug into motherboard header pin) or standalone sensor?

If to plug into motherboard, need to make sure it's calibrated against whatever value the motherboard baked in. Check whether it's using positive or negative type (can't remember the actual terms), temperature raise resistance drop, or temperature rise resistance increase

It's to plug into the motherboard:

Gigabyte provides thermistors for X870E+ boards like these: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/gigabyte...s-master/2.html
No type specified, unfortunately.

I’m not sure if it’s a good deal per se. Frankly the prices are ridiculously inflated now. But comparing it to the other AIBs, I think I can at least say it’s “reasonable” (what an absurd statement, no?)

I’m not sure about the longevity. So far suprim models look okay la from customer experiences.

Going heavy on the liquid cooling there biggrin.gif

As for me, I'm waiting on a Zotac 5090 for the 5-year warranty, and hunting down a Koss Porta Pro for headphones.

Unfortunately I can't recall which reddit post confirmed the type of thermistor for motherboard.

For my case i just used the cable (3 nos) supplied together with the motherboard.

I shoved it to

1) Casing intake fan (Ambiance temperature)
2) AIO radiator (As comparison to CPU temperature)
3) Estimated VRM area for 5080, thanks to Nvidia hide the temperature sensor info for "hotspot" (HWINFO will show 255C)

Thanks for the tip. Probably this one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/...rd_10k_vs_100k/

So it seems a 10K Ohm NTC would work. For AsRock, that is. Maybe I'll try asking Gigabyte about it.

Similar to mine except i go for x870e taichi and 5080.

Still can't persuade myself to go for 5090  sweat.gif

Balance of budget went for OLED monitor instead

How much was that Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMG? Was on my radar too before I got the AW2725DF.
