like i said earlier, i suspect either the GPU or riser cable dead.. hence i bought a new riser ribbon... coz my original was Gen 3.. ended up its the cable sleeve giving problem
since I have bought gen 4 which is double the price than gen 3.. im expecting to get gen 4 speed right? else why waste on gen 4
i've tested direct gpu to mobo can get gen 4 speed without problem...
anyway im going to exchange the cable tommorow...
p/s : i also have emailed tecware on compatibality ; but they yet to reply
LOL if you understand the article that I linked to, you'll know that ur not gonna "get" PCIE 4 speeds since even Gen4 GPU aren't yet able to saturate the PCIE bus at 3.0 speeds. So nope even if that riser is working fine, its not going to double ur GPU PCIE thru put speeds as would the Gen3 to 4 tech would indicate.
But I get it, you paid for a PCIE 4 riser and so you should expecting it to work on a Gen4 setup. If you can get it RMA replaced, that's the best. However its not the end if you'll be limited to PCIE 3 as I shown above.
And as I said, have you tried other benchmarks ie 3D Mark or game benches looped for 1-2 hours? If they can run fine and produce acceptable results, you'll be fine even if furmark borks it as it isn't intended to test riser cable stability.
