dats what 2080ti strix vs 3360 ( from on will call it 3360)
*
Well said man.

People don't realize that the TUF is also doing 16phase (although with a doubler) for the GPU's VRM where as everyone else is doing 12-14phase.

MSI the dumb one doing 13+3 phase. Ah also forgot they locked the board's power limit to 350w... despite slapping on 3x 8-pin connectors, like really guys? rolleyes.gif

Im using an old Cooler master V750, 750W.

is it compatible with 3080???

You're good to go with the 3080 on that PSU. That's the OG v750 which is made by Enhance, not the current one which is made by Chicony.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Sep 18 2020, 05:15 PM)
i am betting its doing lower voltage like strix of old. hence cooler. da overspec vrm to reduce heat and deliver cleaner power.

even to wc this not even sure worth it. lol. its just so good on air.

jam. hmm need to ho collect da card.
*
I believe they're using the same design for the TUF 3090 also, at least it seems like it. So it's nice to see Asus not cheaping out just because 3080 is the cheaper card.

Yeah, but I don't think there will be a 3080Ti per se. More like a Super instead, higher memory config and higher clocks. I don't think they want to add more CUDA cores onto the 3080.

3070Ti though is pretty much an unofficially confirmed open secret.

Are they referring to it as RTX 3080 20G or as Ti? Not that it really matters how its called.
But would still be interesting to see if they use the old GTX 1060 3GB vs. 6GB naming scheme.
*
Won't be a Ti.

It'll be called a SUPER at most since it's also reportedly going to come with higher stock speeds.

A little heads up - depending on the motherboard and if you have an additional expansion card, the main PCIe slot may fall back to x8 3.0 (or x8 4.0) bandwidth:

There might be a slight performance loss when you go from PCIe 3.0 x16 to x8 icon_idea.gif
*
PCIE 4.0 vs PCIE 3.0 will only show how much 4.0 is worth when DirectStorage releases next year for everyone on W10 and when games actually take advantage of it. Until then, it's a pointless dick measuring contest.

Yep, decent upgrade if your income depends on your rig for rendering, machine learning, etc.

Doing gaming benchmarks on it is partly due to NVIDIA saying that it's capable of 8K @60 FPS (res @ FPS) which is a gaming metric during the announcement.

Those that only use GPUs for gaming wont need it, unless they want to play VR.
*
Huh?

It's only hitting 8k with very specific games with very specific settings and DLSS turned on. It's not a 8k60 card otherwise, because if not then with nvidia's logic - the 3080 is also an 8k card if you turn everything down to low anyways. rolleyes.gif

btw looking at 3090 benchmarks, i doubt the 20gb variant of 3080 will be worth the premium
*
If the rumors are true that there won't be any power limit increment and higher clocks, then the 20GB VRAM is simply there for the so called "future proofing" claim.

Raiding other people's garage sales thread is uncalled for. If you disagree then just don't buy.

This is a free market, people can price however they like. Second hand sellers are not bound to some invisible rule saying they can't price above SRP. Common sense guys, supply and demand must be taken into account.

All these raiding and trolling is why Garage Sales in so many sections are getting more and more irrelevant in an age of Shopee and Lazada.
*
Well said man.

Second hand buyers always think that they're owed something when they're purchasing from the first hand owners. Lol. rolleyes.gif

Remember guys, virtue comes to those who has patience.

They're just GPUs, don't need to get so worked up over it.

The games won't disappear right? Perhaps you may die tomorrow and you never get to play those games. But if that's going to happen, then it doesn't matter either way at the end no?

Don't stress over it. wink.gif

The way that you talking, you are no human but like saint jor. Don't have to work and chase material stuff lo, devote life to do good. Nothing wrong for being passionate to get things that you want.

*
I said it that way because I nearly died last year because of a brain aneurysm that happened while I was asleep. You never know how, when or if it'll hit you, it can just happen during the time when you think you're safest - sleeping in your bedroom.

So yeah if anything, that has thought me to be cool and not stress over things you can't control. smile.gif

Dilemma :|

Entry level card SKU selling at near flagship SKU's price. Kalau bodo, beli lo. Just like that someone who pulled the trigger.

Just because stock low, doesn't mean you have to put your dignity aside.

Lol nvidia didn't cancel shit. Those 2 SKUs aren't even official anyways. It just means they aren't releasing the higher VRAM versions as soon as people think. Perhaps they're saving it for the TSMC 7nm revision? Who knows? Go apply a job at nvidia and tell us.

it was a piece of info served to facilitate purchase decision.

lol, why you so worked up? jugding from your angered post, no wonder you got brain aneurysm doh.gif
*
The piece of info you provided is null, it doesn't help any purchase decision because that piece of info is backed by nothing but hot air.

I don't know how you came to an assumption I was worked up. Just because I said nvidia didn't cancel shit? That's simply the way I say things when you shouldn't give 2 jacks about rumors. Maybe you're the one who's looking too much into how I say things, and actually getting worked up over it? And God bless you, hope you don't regret what you say about brain aneurysms. smile.gif

lol what are you talking about, playing semantics with null and hot air.
some people are aware of the 20GB/16GB variants from lowyat, wccf or tweaktown. That post was merely an update to those who have not been made aware that 20/GB/16GB was confirmed to not be released this year end.

but yeah, I agree maybe I'm an ass, but maybe it just takes one to call another.
*
Well, when was the 3080 20GB and 3070 16GB (funny because the 3070 hasn't even been released yet) ever was official? If it isn't official, it's hot air. I'm not sure why you're arguing over rumors being implied as facts?

Lowyat, WCCF and Tweaktown aren't legitimate sources FYI.
All you're doing is taking bold assumptions, just like the sites posting news about them.

You're not just an ass, you're a dumbass IF you're really advocating the 20GB and 16GB variants as unconfirmed facts.
