QUOTE(Jusstatic @ Mar 9 2019, 11:41 AM)
two three seasons ago i was also rooting for allegri to win us the UCL too. I feel he deserves it for bringing us to another level from Conte.. but he was unlucky to first meet barca and then real.... i didnt really blame him on that but seeing those teams are no longer dominating... what i am pissed is he is not seizing the opportunity to take juve to even another level in europe. How can the team go to another level? Well, first of all we must be able to approach games and play in another level attacking wise... we have the players... this is the part where i feel allegri has stagnated... I will always be grateful to him though

The icardi one i have no idea as well.. why do we need him? if its for commerical value i do not see much sense in it either.. icardi is not a very huge brand in world football.. the mo salah link makes more sense seeing hie now a huge icon especially in the arab world  smile.gif

agree about the UCL bit. The team looks "declined" compared to last season eventhough we acquire on of the best performer in UCL earlier this season

last season Juve only lost to Barca (3-0, but the scoreline didn't do any justice to Juve as they go head on against Barca in the Camp Nou) and that 0-3
at home to Real Madrid

This season the only time Juve looked "convincing" was the 1st half against United where we won 0-1. After that losing to the struggling United under Jose at home
and then that 2-1 lost to Young Boys, and not to mention Atletico could've won by 4-0 in the first leg

Icardi? Safe to say its his wife dictating his prior move. Well, who else gonna meet his massive paycheck demand in Italy other than Juve? Even Wanda said Icardi
prefer to stay in Italy. At this point of time Juve should invest in the midfield and defense even more

I guess my hopes of having Zidane as coach next season is out the window. Guardiola has pledged his loyalty to City and I'm not sure if I want Conte back.

Allegri just needs to show that he is willing to change the team's style of play to something more aggressive and finish of games early. Oh and a UCL trophy wouldn't hurt either hehe.

Tonight is the night guys. I think we need everyone rallying behind the guys for this game. Even the ultras of the curva sud have officially called off their strike.

Thanks! We need all the well wishes we can get.

You're right about Ancelotti, would've been a good choice due to his UCL record.

Also just read that De Ligt has chosen Barca over us.

sadly no DC for tonight game. He would have destroy juanfran in the left back position. Anyway, lets hope CR and co could stage a comeback. My trust in Berna ✌🏻

Come back complete! Against all statistical odds. One of the most complete games we've played I think. Ronaldo hat trick. And we pretty much shut them out. Not a shot on target I think. Not even a corner.

Yes! This is where CR7’s worth. We were lucky D.Costa is unavailable and Morata is not the best to play as target man. Without Costa, they’re a different team. Griezmann pretty much has no ball to his way, and his free kicks didn’t bear any result.

Man, Kean almost got to be the hero.

This is the defense that bleeds black and white.

Kudos to the team. A big night for Spinazzola. He was pretty decent considering this was the biggest game of his career so far.

this team CAN play the proper football if they have to. The question is, how often we gonna see this kind of Juve after this?

all i gotta say is Atletico didn't know what hit em tonight

Chiello goal should've stood but its fair considering Morata got his goal disallowed in similar manner in the 1st leg

Did you see the memes people are already making? They're cutting and pasting Allegri's head on the photo of Simeone's crotch celebration from the first leg. Bloody hilarious man.

Good question about how often we'll see Juve play like this. I mean, tonight the evidence is as clear as day, we CAN play like this. I mean, everyone was top notch, if I had to nit pick, maybe Mandzukic was having a bit of an off night, but even then he had to be subbed off due to a knock he took in the second half. Just hope we continue like this till the end of the season, 3 months to go!!

Just some other observations:

Dybala - even coming on late, still managed to influence the game with superb play and skills, outmanoeuvring Atletico players. I'd love to see him score more but it seems like he's really growing in this sort of play-maker role Allegri has him in.

Bernadeschi - what a game tonight, that run especially that earned the penalty. Such a workhorse.

Kean - Would've been an instant LEGEND had he scored on his opportunity. He would've sealed the game I think.

Chiellini - And this goes for the rest of the defence - SOLID. But I think he could do without the antics at the end especially provoking Morata an ex- team mate.

Spinazzola - Great game and worked so hard he had to be subbed off coz he was out of breath. At one point, I noticed he was on the sidelines drinking water during game-play. Allegri and another official like motioned for him to get back in the game haha.

It was such a complete game by the team, hard to actually pick any faults.

By the way, in other news, Man City beat Schalke 7-0? Are those guys even from this planet?

Woah what a match!

Szceny (dunno how to spell laugh.gif ) 6.5 - Had nothing much to do but handled and distributed the ball well when called upon

Cancelo 8 - Looked nervous, offered little threated but defended well in the first half. Was a monster in the second half winning tackles, starting counter attacks, dribbling past his man and provided the superb cross for Ronaldo's second goal

Bonucci 7 - Apart from one lapse of concentration that almost allowed Morata to score, he was rock solid. One of his better defensive displays of late

Chiellini 7.5 - His usual beast self. Made one driving run in the second half + provided a superb ball for Moise Kean that the youngster almost scored

Spinazzola 7 - Could not tell that he is making his CL debut. Assured in possession, good first touch, defended well, provided pace and repeatedly got past his man in the first half. He already played well vs Udinese that day but this performance just adds to his claim for a starting spot. He should play more games for the remainder of the season and if all goes well he must stay at the club next season. He can still improve!

Pjanic 8 - Atletico surprisingly did not put a man on him! Ran the show in midfield with his silky touches and great passing. With Can and Matuidi covering him, he even got to bomb forward on a few occasions to help with the siege of Atletico's defense

Can 8 - Provided superb cover for Pjanic and Spinazzola / Cancelo to bomb forward. Won the ball back on a number of occasions, kept and passed the ball well. Was big strong and aggressive. Best game since joining Juve

Matuidi 8 - Matuidi is great at bombing into the box but most of the time let down by poor finishing and first touch. Allegri did superbly well this time by limiting his offensive game and asking him to stick to his strength and that is tireless running, covering of spaces and winning the ball back and laying off to his more creative teammates

Bernadeschi 9.5 - Best player after Ronaldo. Was a constant torn in the side for Atletico with his dangerous crosses, close control and dribbling. Has a more superb understanding of how Ronaldo wants the ball than Dybala. He was rather poor in his decision making the past few Serie a matches but was superb in this game

Mandzukic 6.5 - Played well to act as a decoy to Ronaldo and to occupy Godin and Gimenez's attention. Apart from that, he was not able to hold up the ball well or win headers against the world class duo of Godin and Gimenez. Juve's high tempo press and attack seems to not suit him well too as he gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasion and looked slow

Ronaldo 10 - The greatest CL scorer of all time barred none. The bigger the stage, the maximum the pressure the more he shows up. From 1 goal in 6 appearances to 4 goals in 7. Just when everyone is about to forget him as he is not playing for a popular BPL club or the self marketed best league in the world or Real Madrid he put in a performance to remind everyone that at 34... he is still better than all the players in Europe apart from Messi who I still rate as the best. An out of this world performance

Kean - Kean will be a trump card moving to the latter stages of the competition. A player with huge potential, pace, skill and a fearless attitude. Almost scored against Atletico when put clean through by Chiellini. Missed a whisker. Scored a brace vs Udinese last week. Allegri should play him more to develop him

Dybala - Played the last 15 mins... controlled the ball well, skipped past his man repeatedly. A world class talent if he can get his body balance and strength to hold of challenges right

Allegri 10/10 - Most of the Juve fans including me have lambasted him for his lame, boring and timid defensive football. You dont buy a Ronaldo and play defensive. I am not sure if he was forced to play attacking but he did play it and my word, a tactical masterclass. The result not just surprised the fans I am hoping it surprised him as well. Setup his tactics with balls.... Super going forward and gave abosultely nothing to Atletico. He should now see the benfits of playing attacking in Europe. Play attacking + Ronaldo and his team will score against any opposition. Atletico has the best defense in the world. Only conceded 17 goals in la liga all season and 0 in the CL prior to this. But an attacking tactics with Ronaldo spearheading it, any team can be blown away. Ronaldo and the team has shown the way that attacking football can bring us forward. The baton is now with Allegri to continue it. Over to you Max

haha saw that pic in FB. Karma is indeed a bitch Mr Simeone laugh.gif

and considering Schalke current league standing and they probably the weakest team in Round of 16, having qualified from the weakest group, that demolition by City were far from surprising

Juve's 3-0 win eclipsed City's 7-0 win speaks volume

again. What a spot on analysis/ratings. My hats off to u Jusstatic

and that last bit kinda interest me. Hopefully even Max himself feeling shock of how well his team can do if they're playing to their strength

Cristiano might've steal the limelight, and deservedly so, but the entire team work their socks off last night to produce on of the most magnificent
comeback in the history of Juve
