But sometimes if a thing meets the requirement of someone, hence it will be perfect for that someone smile.gif

It price, battery and build quality is not an issue for you, then N95 will be a perfect device for you tongue.gif
*
well, "perfect" is in the eye of the beholder.. laugh.gif
If you THINK its perfect..then its PERFECT..no one can affect you. nod.gif

QUOTE(X-Zen @ Apr 12 2007, 01:00 PM)
Agreed. I am enjoying the phone very much now.

Tips - To save on the wear and tear (if any) to the slider, once in office I always put the phone on the table with the key pad open. This way, no need to open/close the slider everytime you wanna make a call. The phone will also on standby with key pad locked.
*
laugh.gif sorry but u find it a bit funny...

IF u face it down...it would be like a land phone without the wires.. laugh.gif

i have a solution for the phone. get a Motorola portable charger P790, which can give u up to 2 times of full charge of phones. Price is RM180/pc. the size is like Motorola u6 PEBL.

Initially, u need to charge for 2-4hours then u can bring along to anywhere u go.
*

laugh.gif  laugh.gif bring N95 along with P790??  tongue.gif

how much is P790??
*
1. moto portable charger
2. extra battery

what else u need to put in ur pocket.. just bcos of N95 ? laugh.gif

Nokia will really be humiliated if u bring a long a portable MOTO charger to charge their ever so powerful yet "not enough power" N95. laugh.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif

lol, lets spread the words until nokia heard us tongue.gif

for me I would opt for extra battery instead of portable charger... at least n95's battery, i think is slim enough to slip it in my wallet... just remove the coins from my wallet tongue.gif
*
i wonder do NOKIA do a little research on forums to get users feedback... rclxub.gif

In case some of u worries bout the built quality/slider mechanism.
YOU are not alone.

QUOTE
I've mentioned on other threads that my N95's slider is noticeably loose on one side. Well, after one day, I came to the conclusion that it's not something I'm going to be able to live with for the next 18 months, so I phoned up Orange earlier today to find out about the possibility of replacement. On the phone I was told that I could get it replaced - they would just send out a courier the next day to delivery my new handset and take away my old one, but I had to visit my local Orange shop first to check that it's not a case that all N95s have loose sliders.

Didn't sound too bad at the time, so off I went to Bromley, where they have two Orange shops, and luckily one of them had one left. The slider on the handset they had was definitely a lot better than mine, so the assistant there phoned up Orange for me to arrange the replacement.

http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=48944&page=22

QUOTE
I think the N95 uses the same assisted mechanism as the 6270. Mine had exactly the same feel, very solid and tight when open, but ever so slightly loose when closed.

Other than that, it was good as gold for me though, hopefully the N95 will be as durable as opposed to the rough 6111 and N80 mechanisms.

QUOTE
Both my N95's move up and down slightly (very slightly) while closed. Nothing to write home about.

They also press down slightly on the right. One is worse than the other. Again, I'm not letting this ruin a damn fine phone.

QUOTE
Now you mention it, my slider also rocks a few mills in either direction - but I take that to be part of the design. It's as if there's a lip that the slider has to run over, so there's a bit of give before the slider opens. Certainly not 'loose', in the sense that it opens without manual intervention.

http://mobile.sina.com.tw/tech/sinacn/cn/2007-04-03/160538141424.shtml

Translation :

The N95 slider mechanism is not using the usual "metal track slider thing" like other models in the market.
Instead its using the "drawer style join kinda plastic thing"

The BAD : Lower resistance to long term friction

The GOOD : Better sliding FEEL..

pardon my translation. wub.gif

rayzrblade,

Sorry, didnt notice this posting earlier as its inside the 19pages thread. It would help others if u could pin this up at the first page or second page since it will be less hassle to go through all the 19pages jus to find out bout the mechanism problem.
*

well, i m not the TS, so i cant post it anywhere i want..this is the TS job actually. hmm.gif
i think he will do it if he is free nod.gif

The TS did a good job on the first page though..

design a user bar..
design a front page banner..
copy n paste some photos, full specs, infos.
teach users bout GPS..
what software to download..
list of owners...

BUT

its all bout the Pros ....
maybe he should include "Cons of N95". wink.gif
- battery life..
- slider problem..
- built quality..

So that potential buyers will know the pros n cons of N95 at a glance, rather than asking around. am i right? nod.gif

A short summary review of the bad things bout N95

Mobile-review
SOURCE

By default the N95 engages still picture mode, but video recording is always one key-press away (about 3-4 seconds more). Occasionally the time between opening the shutter and being able to take a snap is what matters the most, in this sense Nokia-branded products lag behind Sony Ericsson's proposals...

Possible letdowns also include the fact that in viewfinder mode the handset softens the picture, making it look less saturated than the resulting shot (softer backlighting). However this has been done only for one purpose - save some energy.

Mobileburn
SOURCE

The keys are very stiff and located even lower on the slider than on the N80, which makes them a bit of a tough reach for somebody with large hands.

The flash is too blue in color, and the camera's white balance system is not programmed to compensate for that. It is also too harsh when shooting anything in close-up/macro mode, which otherwise works very well, and not really powerful enough to aid much in dark situations where the subject of the photo isn't located in the flash's sweet spot range.

This makes the photos sometimes look almost as if they were painted when viewed at full resolution. It generally isn't something one would notice when viewing the photos at anything less than 100% zoom on a desktop computer.

Unfortunately the one exception is a big one: battery life. While the N95 scored an admirable 5.25 hours in our talk time test on Cingular, the device has a real-world standby life of less than a day

Engadget
SOURCE

Our first observation after holding it: it doesn't feel any more expensive than its Nseries siblings. That's not necessarily a knock -- Nokias are almost always exceptionally well-built devices -- but it's worth noting that your extra cash doesn't buy you better (read: Vertu) build quality. Don't get us wrong, we know you're really paying for the N95's guts, not its glamor.

The time required to lock satellites would be considered unacceptable if this were a dedicated nav unit, but once they were locked, we were pleased with its ability to hold the signal.

Map redraws were often painfully slow due in part to the fact that the device downloads detail maps on the fly over its data connection

Gizmodo
SOURCE

OK, let me qualify that statement. It's smaller than the N93, and it's length and width aren't bad, but it's thicker than mostly any other modern phone without a QWERTY.
And the plastic feels cheap. It isn't up to the build quality of an aluminum Moto or Sony Ericsson.

Two man arguments removed. Please settle via PM.

rayzrblade - It is great to point out any issues or links related to N95, however it is in the TS concern to include things you found into the first few important post or not. Else, can you gather those info (you deemed is useful to any reader) into one post (with links to external sources and direct links to post no. of issues you have posted before). Since you wanted all those info to be included, you can collate it into a post and I will put in the link into first page.

Minde - Please feel free and open to accept any comment from anyone. It would be great too if related issues (bad and good) to be included into first page.
*
already gathered in the thread. just need some editing from u guys. thumbup.gif

what post no. is it?

it would be great if you put all the info/links/posts into one/two post (with spoiler if it looks messy or too long). you can update that post anytime you want. and i will put up the link to that post into first page.

else if you want me to gather up every single post and put into the first page, sorry I don't have the time.

then leave it to someone who has the time then..and willing to do also biggrin.gif

QUOTE(youngkies @ Apr 14 2007, 01:30 AM)
So as for Minde - the TS.

If you have the time and willing to do so, get all the post number, issues, links etc (from rayzrblade) and put into one single post. Post the link to that post containing all the issue etc into the first post anywhere you like as you dont have any reserved post in first page or any much spaces left of in first/second post.

Else if you dont have time or not willing to do so, dont bother about it.

And razyrblade, since you insist to provide info for all readers but refuse to put all your useful info, links, issues into a post, so that a link to that post can be included in first page, then refrain from insisting the TS to include anything you like anymore. What to be included in first few post is at TS concern.

Problem settled? I guess so. So get back to discussion about N95, not what should be done in the first post or what the TS should do not!
*
i had the time to do so but now too bad...not free as most of u like to say nod.gif

haha, no need la, cause you posted it before. And one of the comments by the reviewer is that the sliding mechanism is made of those similar to drawer sliding... pro: better sliding, con: might not able to last long... and since n95 is still very new, no one can predict how the slider will be like after half year or 1 year of usage...
If loose is still bearable, just don't break can already tongue.gif
like my previous p900, the screen plastic frame cracked , and I send it in for them to change the housing (still under warranty), they charged me for changing the front housing of my p900...

Anyway, Mr Blade got his point. It's good to point out the drawbacks of N95 so that when new firmware/batch is out, we can compare with the first version.

I'm waiting for 2nd version firmware before i make my mind to own this piece of phone-puter.

The good: HSDPA; Wi-Fi; onboard GPS; 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens; 3.5mm audio jack; mini-USB connector.

The bad:
Build quality doesn't justify the premium price; poor battery life; sluggish performance when multiple applications are running;premium price.
