QUOTE(ismailroslie @ Apr 14 2018, 06:28 AM) So new Honda car no need run in? Means can belasah already no need to be below certain RPM until 1k km? Well, seems to be, my 2004 city was also the same. 14 years ago, Service centre told me that Honda cars do not need changing of engine old at 1k. The HRV is my 2nd Honda car, so I am guessing it is the same practice. I came from Proton btw.Any Toyota owner here with same comment from toyota service center? I mean before 1k mileage, do I need to keep the max engine revs below certain rpm to take care of the new engine for a long term..Some of the blogs I saw, mentioned try to keep the speec below 100kmh..Any Toyota owner here with same comment from toyota service center? |

It is really up to you. One of the reasons to keep rpm low during the first 1k is because the engine has not been run in yet. But as I mentioned before, according to service center, it has, hence no need to take worry about rpms and changing engine oil for the first 1k.. |

[I]Actually that’s a common practice since last time for most of us who owned older cars or bought cars where it needed to be run in at 1k. Nowadays all the new cars come already run in so that old practice is no longer necessary but if you read car forums/magazines, if you want the car engine to last long with no major problems, usually up to the first 10k don’t whack the rpm and go high speed. That’s what i’ve Done with all my cars and all my cars have gone up to 10 years plus with no major problems. Both jap/conti cars and also my proton. |

hi all. il be a proud owner of a hr-v very soon. i heard the 2016 version had many niggling problems, hows the 2017 ones? has honda done any improvements on them?
btw anyone can share a link on the topic of going "max rev/speed" during breaking in your new car. so far my google searches came up saying you need to keep it within the revs and speed limit. This post has been edited by mhyug: Apr 22 2018, 10:25 AM |
