The replacement EPB switch was done at Honda authorized service center. Yes, I would send to service center to check in my next scheduled service (I think the warranty of EPB  switch is 6-month)

1. The three (3) lights came out with one of the lights flashing (can't remember which one) during my run.  To cancel these lights, I need to stop, re-ignite, then they disappear.

2. Yes, I can put into drive.

Can it will cabling/wiring issues?  My past experience, this EPB switch affects auto cruise, it will reset the cruise speed as if detecting brake.

Yes, I would send to service center to diagnose, hope they will do a thorough check on the root cause.

My question was to highlight if this issue a common HRV defects.
*
Your answer is... Yes is a stupidly common problem for HRV other than the many dumb issues.. Nope, I believe this is not cabling/wiring issue. Usually, if cable issue, it will show up right after replacement & yes, it will reset the cruise speed "if brake is applied", if automatically stops auto cruise then, yes it is due to the switch or Transmission range switch.

Note: Sometimes water or dirt masuk can also cause the switch to kaput. Why? IDK ask Honda..

Mine HRV 2017 till now no issue's... Hope it stays like that.

Hrv if you get these lights are usually ABS module.. This is because traction control is related to ABS

Hi,

I am considering to get a HRV, but still undecided should get the normal or eHev version.

I mainly use for driving around city mostly below 100km/h then a year 2-3 time on highway to cross state

1. what would be recommended?
2. Also does the eHev fuel consumption have any bid different from normal version??
3. the eHev is actually running on ICE or motor?

1) Depends on your budget

2) huge different if city travel is primary
But take note, there's no fuel savings. The premium pricing on the EHEV can buy many liters of fuel

3) EV motor primarily with the ICE as range extender/power assist

Thanks for the reply

budget side it's ok for me either version, just considering which will be more suitable for my use

so means the eHev is mainly running on battery hence petrol is actually used to charge the batter? LOL

yes and no really.

the battery is small, so if the ICE need to constantly charge it, it won't be effecient anyways.
the key is how good the regenerative braking is in charging the battery.

but in very simple answer, yes, its main propulsion is EV, then ICE as supplementary and charging the batteries.

that's why on highways, it isn't that efficient as the roles has switched that EV is too weak to maintain higher speeds, and the 1.5 ICE isn't exactly high powered to maintain efficiency at higher speeds, so but lesser of evils, the ICE will switch being primary and run almost constantly all the time.

Depends on you.. Both are technically the same. The cost eHev (RM 141,900.00) vs V (RM 135,900.00) ~RM 6000. eHev I heard get 700+ km (Full tank RM 75/36L). Turbo: About 400+ km.. (Depending on foot)... So yea.. But eHev.. Less burden if gov decided to uncap fuel price.

yes, the possible uncapped fuel price is the main reason i considered eHev.

Hi guys,

I'm considering getting HRV, but a bit worried about the sticky steering wheel issue that is plaguing Civic. Does HRV has this issue as well?

Thank you.

Common problem with honda.. Not only HRV/CIVIC etc. As long as your car its under warranty you are fine. Steering rack has 5 years warranty.

My HRV 2017 changed once under warranty and its been 2 years, till now no issues. It also depends on how you steer, are you the kind that always bang on the limit or those that like to turn fast fast on a standstill?

Almost about to pull the trigger on the RS hybrid. Any glaring issues to know about or look out for on delivery day?

Getting primarily for the fuel savings and the upcoming uncap. There really isn't much choice below 150k for hybrid SUVs or just hybrids in general

Check paint, check body gaps, and check side mirror motor.

off cctv, got my rs ehev today, so far pretty happy, kinda sad with that it doesnt have front sensors, lacks proper blind spot and 360 cam and the honda sensing suite doesnt work in the rain (X50 tech overall was way better, but aftersales and hybrid was the motivation to switch), also the front hood is quite prominent from the dash. other than that my back will thank me later XD

next is for carlinkit, tint + ppf!

Guys, have any of you use 3rd party cvt fluid for your honda? Instead of the standard honda hcf-2. Thought of using 3rd party one such as castrol, which is more expensive. Wondering will it be better?

Hi everyone,

Can someone recommend me a very good mechanic around kota damansara / sungai buloh / rawang for HRV model?

I've went to 3 workshop and all workmanship sucks to the max. I.e. Foreman forgot to put back cvt caps, overcharge me the INTAKE AIRHOSE til RM300 (even SC only charge RM110).

I don't mind paying premium price as long as the workmanship is great.

If I'm not mistaken, Honda HCF-2 has some adjectives added/more liquid form to help prolong the CVT belt. That's why most WS recommend using back Honda HCF-2 instead.

HRV for mine (2017) is using HCF-2, and there are 2 type CVTF & HCF-2 make sure to use the correct one and make sure the CVT fluid you are getting is ORI.. Allot of fakes. If can buy your own at Honda Spare Part.
