@satish87,
Do NOT plug it onto a power supply unit and let the battery drain by itself. With NO battery, it's not possible for the iPod to automatically turn itself on - if so, then I suppose it's good news - u won't ever need to charge ur iPod and it can be left on forever!

Just cause it works (other than the auto turn on), it doesn't mean the circuits inside are completely dry. It may still be damp and will certainly need more time - don't let your impatience ruin your iPods 2nd chance to live! biggrin.gif

the "can't turn it off" means that the power-on <> power-off wires have a short, and in ur case, the conducting material is the "soapy" water... which is a very good conductor... my advise is to open up the ipod, and use a soft and lint-free cloth to wipe it... then leave it in an air cond room for one day... flip the mainboard over after say 6 hours... that should be good...

ouch that hurts. I reckon you can still get a working one back if it's less than a year. My laptop battery konked out less than a year after I got it and I got a free change so same thing...smile.gif

good luck and don't do it again. lol it hurts.

The battery is not really a good friend of water. You might need to change that.

But hey, it's a small price to pay.. tongue.gif

maybe you can try placing them under the sun ? Hopes the heat can helps dries off excess damps from the interior and the battery.

@satish87,
Great! Just be more cautious now and don't even think about giving the iPod of urs another wash! *grins* tongue.gif

Change the batt if u think that's causing u problems - wouldn't want the battery to malfunction and cause the entire iPod to die on u - having said that, I'm really no iPod person so have no idea how and where the battery's even located - u'll know better so make a good decision now smile.gif

Sacrasm intended? (if you did, you didn't do it very well...)

BTW, I'm sure a Apple replacement battery isn't going to cost as much as my Macbook. In fact, they have it dirt cheap on eBay.. DIY though..
