Anyway, personally for me I do not have such problem and my video streaming speed isn’t capped either. This is tested on MaxisONE Plan 98 in KL.

QUOTE(hjack @ Oct 4 2020, 03:48 PM) Aha... B818 then it makes sense. Not many has such privilege let alone using their Redmi midranger, for eg. This speed test result was taken on my mom’s iPhone 6S. This is MaxisONE Plan 128. Still so far so good and not experiencing capped speed below 3Mbps like many have complained and the speed test result showed it was more than enough for a smooth full HD video streaming.QUOTE(hjack @ Oct 4 2020, 03:48 PM) If you have chance to test the new HUP rm5 unlimited hotspot on your b818 then will be more interesting. I had early on shared the speed test result for Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited 6Mbps. I think that was in July. The speed test was done around 10PM or so on my iPad Air and it showed a speed between 5.7Mbps - 6.3Mbps, as far as I remember.Considering the new Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited RM5 monthly hotspot pass will draw the quota from your subscribed unlimited pass, the speed shall not pass the maximum limit of your applicable pass - either 3Mbps or 6Mbps. Thus modem like Huawei B168-22d, Huawei B618-65d or Huawei B818-263 won’t make a difference. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Oct 4 2020, 08:42 PM |

QUOTE(inhria @ Nov 4 2020, 10:44 PM) I'm downgrading from Hotlink 60 to Hotlink 30 because cannot accept the slow Internet. Not worth it. Luckily my phone can put 2nd sim which I took Umobile RM30 unlimited. Use Hotlink for unlimited call and sms, data I use Umobile where possible. I may have problem for tethering but for now, I don't care. Why don’t you just port-out your Hotlink number and subscribe to the UMobile Prepaid RM35 plan ? |

Can any current Hotlink Postpaid subscribers confirm if the RM10 for 10GB extra data pass that is valid for 30 days can be subscribed more than once in a single billing month ? And if there is limitation to it, what's the maximum of times one can buy the add-on pass (RM10 for 10GB) in a month ?

QUOTE(zhi95 @ Nov 21 2020, 02:36 AM) actually dont understand why prepaid usually so much value over postpaid still have ppl using postpaid Whilst prepaid works wonderfully for you and so many people, it doesn’t mean it works for everyone. Digi Prepaid internet pass gives out generous data allowance. However, a lot of the extra data works for certain hours and everyone’s usage pattern is different, many people may still find the very straightforward postpaid plan better suited for them. None of my close friends are using prepaid anymore. None of us are claiming postpaid phone bill from our employer either. We’re using postpaid because we use a lot of mobile data and we need the flexibility that comes with it. |

QUOTE(zhi95 @ Nov 23 2020, 12:42 AM) I see. Maybe that was in the past. This is a limited time promotion and available only on Digi NEXT Prepaid. Because from Digi prepaid I am using now is very straightforward, RM35 monthly reload entitled 40gb 24hours high speed and unlimited calls. (might be limited time not sure) and for postpaid you have to pay RM80 for the same thing, so I was just curious Digi Postpaid 80 on the other hand, gives you 80GB of all-day data after 24 months. Two of my friends are using Digi Postpaid 80 for many years already. Back then Digi did not promise to give out any loyalty data, they did however get extra loyalty data that isn’t publicly marketed and on top of that, they also get extra 30GB of YouTube data. So in a way the old loyal Digi Postpaid 80 subscribers are getting even better plan since new signups for this plan do not get the 30GB YouTube data. Besides Digi Postpaid 80, a publicly available plan that one can sign-up anytime, Digi also has many other postpaid plans that’s offered to some old Digi postpaid subscribers such as Digi Postpaid 50(S) that gives either 50GB or 70GB data for RM50/month. QUOTE(judehow @ Nov 23 2020, 09:02 AM) just check my hotlink flex bill just now, they got charge 6% tax but why they charge not they already charge inside? looks like the hotlink flex not worth to subscribe anymore.. It is a postpaid service, hence the 6% SST. The advertised monthly commitment is not inclusive of SST. |

QUOTE(KCY3701 @ Nov 28 2020, 09:09 PM) Customer Service called back yesterday evening. It is the Hotlink Postpaid 60 plan with 24 months contract if want RM1 phone. Pay RM50 per month for 12 months, after that RM60. Supposedly they can take out the supplementary line from your dad’s Maxis account and re-register it to your own name under Hotlink Postpaid. You may want to talk to Maxis again. Otherwise, the fastest way would be to change the share line to Hotlink Prepaid first. After that perform ownership transfer from your dad to you (both of you just go to Maxis Centre together with your IC), then upgrade to Hotlink Postpaid. You do not have to port-out the number. If not taking phone, can enjoy RM10 discount per month for 12 months, no contract needed. Plans eligible are: Hotlink Postpaid 60 - RM50 Hotlink Postpaid 40 - RM30 If interested, need to send them student ID (must be student between 18-25 yo) However, those currently using higher tier plan cannot downgrade, even Postpaid 40 to Postpaid 40 (with discount) also cannot. Currently, I am under my father's Maxis Postpaid account, using Share 48 plan now. To get this offer, how can I split out from main line? I plan to MNP out and in to Hotlink again, then sign up Postpaid 30 (so can upgrade). By the way, since the start of this year, the procedure to change from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid has changed. Last time it can be done immediately at Maxis Centre but not anymore. All they can do is to file your request, then someone from Maxis HQ will call you to ask simple questionnaires like the reason you want to change to Hotlink Prepaid. So you may want to ask your dad to call 123 to ask if they can help you to submit a request to change from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid for the supplementary line registered under his line first, so your dad does not have to purposely go to a Maxis Centre to get it done. Hotlink Postpaid is clearly targeted at people wanting high-speed internet with no hotspot limitation. Maxis Postpaid 98 (MaxisONE 98) comes with 40GB data. With Hotlink Postpaid 30, by paying only RM70 a month, you can get 41GB data, which is cheaper than MaxisONE Sabah/Sarawak 68 that comes with 30GB data. You can do so by manually subscribing to the 10GB pass for RM10. There is no limitation to the number of times you can subscribe to this pass. So you’ll need to manually subscribe to this pass 4 times to get an additional 40GB data if you’re on Hotlink Postpaid. It’s really worth it and it is also cheaper than Hotlink Prepaid Video. Of course if you are able to sign-up for Hotlink Postpaid and Fibre, that’d be the best ! jusbella liked this post

QUOTE(szejz123 @ Dec 2 2020, 10:10 AM) Thought it’s still there ? Because I still can see it on Maxis Postpaid 98. So I asked if the same pass is available on Hotlink Postpaid and he told me yes and no limitation to the number of times we can subscribe to the pass. |

Maxis people gave me the wrong information regarding the 10GB for RM10 pass. The pass is still on all Maxis Postpaid plans (MaxisONE) but not on Hotlink Postpaid.
I managed to get hold of a Hotlink Postpaid account and below are the available passes for Hotlink Postpaid. So the previous trick I mentioned earlier doesn’t work. It’s all back to square one - RM68 is the cheapest plan for Sabah and Sarawak and RM98 for the rest of the country. 10GB for RM10 pass is still available for all MaxisONE plans including the special MaxisONE 68 Sabah and Sarawak plan. |

QUOTE(mjchua @ Dec 7 2020, 11:00 AM) for hotlink postpaid... does there any maxis website login to check account info ? or purely the hotlink postpaid app from mobile ? Purely from Hotlink Postpaid app, as far as i'm concerned. After Maxis revamped their website, a lot of self-serve functions have been removed. So though Maxis postpaid subscribers can still login to access their account information on Maxis website, there isn't a lot of information available and you can also no longer activate or deactivate a lot of value-added services like call forwarding, block caller ID etc.QUOTE(mjchua @ Dec 7 2020, 11:00 AM) for hotlink postpaid... does there any maxis website login to check account info ? or purely the hotlink postpaid app from mobile ? Don't call IDD and don't toggle on roaming on your phone when you are overseas. Safest is probably to set your phone to plane mode.how to disable IDD and Roaming ? Or if you would like to know if someone is calling you or continue to receive SMS when you are overseas, just call 123 and ask Maxis to disable your overseas voicemail service. This way if someone calls you your phone will still ring but as long as you don't answer the call, you won't be charged for it. For SMS, receiving SMS in overseas is always free. The reason some people are billed even they don't answer the call whilst overseas is because the call is re-directed to your voicemail. So the solution is to disable your roaming voicemail service. Do note this also applies to Digi. |

QUOTE(mjchua @ Dec 7 2020, 02:25 PM) Thanks for your information, so means everything also need to call 123. I believe roaming voicemail is a different thing. Because for my dad's Maxis line, his voicemail is working but not roaming voicemail since it's been disabled. For my own Digi line, both my voicemail and roaming voicemail are disabled. Better to check with 123 for sure. For the voicemail I already disabled (Local call just drop if can't reach me, no voicemail). Is that the same as what you mentioned "roaming voicemail" ? Yes. Almost everything you have to call 123. |

QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Dec 10 2020, 12:36 AM) Hi, may I know what is the expected maxed Talk Time duration and no. of SMS given for Hotlink postpaid 40 / 30? I recall reading somewhere even though is stated unlimited but there is a limit. Roughly every month I will make calls for 3-5hours and around 100SMS (mix telco). Will there be an issue? Thanks There is no known maximum minutes per billing cycle. However, Maxis will cut off the line 2 hours per call for Maxis-Maxis call, and 1 hour 30 minutes per call for Maxis to all other mobile carriers and fixed lines. For SMS, 100 SMS spread out throughout the month should be ok as long as you don’t send out 100 SMS a day to many different numbers. QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Dec 10 2020, 12:36 AM) If there any penalty if i change the postpaid plan/telco after 1-2months usage (subscription with plan only)? You are not allowed to change from Hotlink Postpaid or Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid within the first 6 months. I am however not sure if MNP to another mobile carrier is possible. Last time you can port-out to another mobile carrier anytime from Maxis Postpaid whilst most other mobile carriers have a cooling off period of 1 month before you are allowed to port-out.This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Dec 10 2020, 02:35 PM jimmy_none liked this post

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Mar 13 2021, 01:19 AM) Noted. Could be that they were going to remove or make a revision to the add-on plan you are currently subscribed to but they later backtracked and postponed it until further notice.Or, it could be that they want to change your rate plan to Hotlink Postpaid 40, which now comes with 8GB + 8GB YouTube data, same as the one you are using now. Just that they don’t call it add-on on Hotlink Postpaid 40. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Mar 13 2021, 01:47 AM |
