Samsung Trade Up & Save program is only available when you buy the phone in their retail stores. It's not available for pre-order and online purchasing.

It should be alright, but you won't be getting that QC 2.0 fast charge.

But since the new charger came along with the S9+, so why you still want to use the old charger?

Sample pics been spreaded around the net already. Imo, the daylight photo quality are the same. But the low light photo quality is slightly better.

In fact, Samsung camera quality is quite good already since s7 edge era. Most of the people interested on s9 because of the super slow mo feature.

Are you guys sure that the trade-up is eligible to pre-order as well? I can't find any info about this in that Samsung link. Better ask the Samsung cs to confirm this.

It's normal. S9 is the latest king. Few months later, it will be replaced by pixel 3 and new iPhone. Then next year, back to Samsung new flagship. The list will go on and on... Lol.

If your S7edge is in good condition, why don't just go to Samsung store and trade in? Their offer for S7edge is RM1250 (good condition). Don't think you guys will get such good offer in other places, not even in garage sales.

That's weird. Before this some people posted the info that trade-in is also eligible to those pre-orders.

So based on your experience, is this means that if you want to pre-order and also trade-in the old phone at the same time, you will need to wait until 16th March only can pick up the new phone?

Actually Samsung's device maintenance already good enough, but SD Maid is more convenient and customizable since it let you choose which part you wish to clean up, while Samsung Device Maintenance clean all of them at once when you click the optimise button.

Seldom. I only clean it up when the phone's maintainence level is below good status, like 40-50%. Frankly speaking, nowadays Samsung flagships won't get slow down easily even you do heavy task on it. So, I guess clean up one time per month should be sufficient enough. Unless you installed a lot of rogue apps inside your phone, then it's another story to tell.

It's all depend on the staff/branch who handle your trade in. The stingy one will check your phone thoroughly and try very hard to find the defects. While the easy going one will simply accept your phone without a glimpse. I personally traded in Samsung phones couple of times before. At one time, the phone's screen got a minor scratch and the touch sensitivity is a bit cacat. Of course I didn't tell the staff about it in advance lah. I just let him check without telling him anything about the defects. Surprisingly the staff just took it without asking any questions. He didn't even care to test the phone. The trade in went very smooth. But that's 2 years ago lah. Now may be they have became stricter. If your phone condition is very good and near to perfect, just go ahead. But if your phone got defects, just keep quiet. Let the staff find it by himself. May be the staff won't be able to notice it at all. You don't say, nobody know.

May be some people may say this is a bit unethical. But hey, business is business. After all, it's not your responsibility to inform them the issue. It's their job to check and test the phone. If it succeeded, then you are a happy man. If you failed, then you got nothing to lose. No harm to try right.

Anyway, based on my experience, before you go to trade-in, make sure you test drive your phone first, by entering the secret mode *#0*#. If all functions working, then you are good to go. As long as your phone has no dent, screen no broken, body no peeling, no screen burn-in, the staff will gladly accept your phone with maximum pay back value. Most of the time they won't mind the minor scratch since those scratches are very hard to notice.

Oh and one more thing, make sure you reset your phone before trade in. Just to ensure your phone is running at optimum status (without slowing down by any third party software interference), just in case the staff may use this as an excuse to reject you.

Well, there is not only one Samsung store out there right? If you failed, then go another store and try again. Try few times, sure one of them will accept. But since your is pre-order unit, you only have one chance, then I guess you need some lucks on this. Anyway, since the salesgirls already approved, then you find her lah when you go to collect your phone. biggrin.gif

Then I guess they already "upgraded" their procedure. When I traded in last 2 years, they did all of these, but without taking pics and asking HQ for approval. All the final decisions were made by the staff themselves.

If they refuse, just ask them to refer to their manager or upper management. Some times the upper management may forget to inform those sales staff.
