Depends on the situation. If the tier dividend shit comes to fruitation, No. If it's still like current, then depends on what you need.

Say if you want RM5k/mth, then you need 60k a year. Assuming 5%, you need RM 1.2mil to generate this. So u top up till this figure lah.

Top up sikit get Fellali... laugh.gif

Yeah if tiered then dont want la haha...
Actually what I am thinking is I have got FDs and right now they aint paying much. I want to take out and put in EPF as much as possible.
If tiered dividends comes along then ma take out lor if FD rates is better than Tiered

Reason - EPF safer and more interest compared to FD

Yes, this is a good move, many people here are doing, including me. biggrin.gif

Especially if you are near 55, it's a no brainer move rather than having money in FD. For people above 50, they can sapu all Acc 2 if needed. Just keep topping up until 55, then tak suka, can take out money as much as you like.

how much money what? put in EPF? 60k every year

Refer to u said:
Would you still continue putting money in EPF via Self Contribution? Its either FD or EPF.
If < rm1000 put in pocket
If < 6 months expense put in CASA.
If >100k put in epf.

Any of you made a self contribution on the 1st week of March? It is reflected at your EPF account yet?

Tks adek for your good wishes. At least interstate travel opened. So happy, spent 3 weeks in Penang with grandchildren.

I also waiting for overseas travel. But I think that is going to take much longer. Even if open, still scared with new covid variants coming up. Have to wait till a total solution is found. sad.gif

wah. so uncle all these while you live off the dividend only? no touch principle at all or take out at all?
of course you might have other savings out of epf. but I'm just curious if you have touched the principal up until now at this age.

Yeah. I am just checking because my transfer made on 2nd March is still not reflected. Would like to see if it is EPF problem or my CIMB Clicks problem.

For me i would put 60k in high interest CASA n transfer to epf at d end of the month. 60000x2%x27days/365days=rm88.

Thay is my plan too. I did on 2nd March with a small amount to verify that the transfer is working. And if it does, transfer a larger amount when nearing the end of month. But now is missing sweat.gif

I put in on Saturday night. Not yet reflected. But historically earlier people reported it takes 1 day. Maybe the dividend payout period caused some delays.

What does this show? It proves that well-off members of EPF are getting richer while the 48% who actually need this old-age savings to survive have become poorer.
