This should be the phone to get instead of Redmi 5/Plus right?
*
Nah, I would take the Mi Note 3 over the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro, a phone with Snapdragon 636, micro USB, worse dual camera setup compared to Meizu M6 Note, and no water resistance, when imported to Malaysia will cost a lot and that will the make the phone more expensive compared to the Mi Note 3, a phone with a Snapdragon 660, USB Type C, better dual camera setup(scored 90 marks on DxOMark) and IP67 water resistance.

Check the spec again. It is Sony sensor.
*
Oh seems some redmi 5 also use this sensor.

To be frank.... You really think 1.5hrs can fully charge his fellow?
You all really need to dream more... It takes about 2+hrs to do so...
If the fastest charge in the world need 1+hrs to charge those flagship...
Think back logically... QC2.0 will charge it at same speed?
*
Why don't believed me?
I had 3.0 QC charger for my 5 plus, almost took 1.5 hours like that, hasn't charging more than 2 hours lah.

I think the problem is not whether we can wait or not but whether Mi Malaysia will bring in this model? As you all noticed, even can't get this Pro model in China. laugh.gif

Do you think DirectD going to bring in this? The ROM should be "Global" for Indian market, I think? Then there should not have the faked ROM issue.

It's likely produced in the india factory. If they don't launch this in china, can we even import this? India import no free trade area, higher taxes right?

Still remember mi4i? It was introduced in India as well back then. And then it was brought into Malaysia afterwards. And yes. It's global rom. I am sure redmi note 5 pro will follow this way as well.

Wow... That is amazing... Then no need QC3 and USB-C 3.0 charging... How many percent? GSM arena give it 29% for 30mins.... So it should be more than 1.5hrs... and with the charging slowing down after 80% means it might take about 2hrs...

Unless these new models' GPS is stable and quick locking, not suffer the same fate as Redmi Note 4.

Depend on preference. Someone will prefer to have a relatively larger battery, larger screen, audio jack and huge dev support.

Mi note 3 currently is lacking dev support in XDA which is a big letdown despite its good specs.

Yes, I bought Mi4i from Mi Malaysia last time, my first Xiaomi phone. biggrin.gif
But have no idea it took how long for Mi Malaysia to bring this in.

The problem is, what to do when 4GB/64GB version of Redmi 5 Plus release end of this month? To get it or to wait? Already waited this 5 Plus for so long, really don't want to keep waiting and waiting and waiting...

The hardware and price for Mi Note 3 is not bad, but I don't like the screen ratio. laugh.gif

If you don't play games and don't mind the quality of the camera, then just go for the Redmi 5 Plus. But if these 2 factors are important to your usage, then better wait for Redmi Note 5 Pro. That's how I look at it. Always choose the one that suits your need the most. thumbsup.gif

Looks like they put alot of effort on the cams. Tagline camera beast should mean something right?

I wonder if people will still complain sucky Xiaomi camera?
*
Nah, this camera setup still sucks, no OIS and the apertures are not less than f/2.0. But the camera setup on the Mi 6 and Mi Note 3 have great quality.

The 18:9 screen, dual lens camera and front camera flash and all is certainly nice but I think I'll wait for the A1 successor.

Stock android is kinda a must for maximum smoothness and future android updates. Hope they would include a nice 18:9 screen, flash for the front camera, ip6x water resistance and bigger battery. Don't mind paying more!

Yup! I seldom play game, even if I do, I play mostly 2D puzzle games.

I'm not really care about the camera that much because about 70% of photos in my gallery are product samples, static objects etc... laugh.gif

After breaking up all these, I think 4GB RAM version of Redmi 5 Plus should be enough for me, really don't know the reason or what is the point of those "extra capabilities" for my usage. tongue.gif
