QUOTE(G K Lai @ Feb 14 2018, 09:14 PM) I think the problem is not whether we can wait or not but whether Mi Malaysia will bring in this model? As you all noticed, even can't get this Pro model in China. It's likely produced in the india factory. If they don't launch this in china, can we even import this? India import no free trade area, higher taxes right?Do you think DirectD going to bring in this? The ROM should be "Global" for Indian market, I think? Then there should not have the faked ROM issue. |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Feb 14 2018, 09:32 PM) Wow... That is amazing... Then no need QC3 and USB-C 3.0 charging... How many percent? GSM arena give it 29% for 30mins.... So it should be more than 1.5hrs... and with the charging slowing down after 80% means it might take about 2hrs... He means the phone support qc 3.0 it just didn't come with a qc3.0 charger like what apple did. |

anandtech says this chip is 4xa73+4xa53, is like slower version of 660.
Also samsung's quick charger is qc 2.0 compatible if i'm not mistaken. Maybe will work with this. This post has been edited by donthitmyface: Feb 16 2018, 05:07 PM |

It really is 4xa73+4xa53. This is a weaker version of 660. Looks like a sd650 that won't burn you if you play game. This post has been edited by donthitmyface: Feb 21 2018, 12:13 PM |

QUOTE(abubin @ Feb 26 2018, 12:02 PM) My point is, they release too many models until they don't have time to support the firmware. Look at redmi note 3. They promise Oreo for it but until now still no Oreo support. They did not promise oreo for that phone, where did you even hear it. Xiaomi snapdragon phones, you will get 1 android update then they update their os for around 3 years. Redmi 1s finally get their last miui update with 9. You compare huawei, get 1 android update thats it. Samsung supposedly j series get update now, I know in the past 0 updates for budget series. I think my friend's j7+ only august or september security patch, redmi note 3 is january patch. Don't just listen to the websites complain, furthermore miui 9 update speed up the phone by a lot. I tried before custom rom on that phone can't feel the supposed faster aosp, the same only. Official lineage os actually slower. You can feel miui kill app early to keep os smooth, lineage wait until no more ram to kill so it become laggy like the old android. |

The tieba say emmc 5.1 vs 5.0 for india version. This one, 4+64 1399 rmb how much in rm i wonder. Interested in camera review. I see people say redmi 5 not as smooth, maybe the full screen higher resolution need stronger gpu.

QUOTE(RioMeni @ Mar 16 2018, 06:44 PM) This one has bigger sensor, should be better. The gestures look nice, I didn't know can make back from right swipe. Convenient and makes sense since android don't support forward. Wish Google will add this officially to android. |

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Mar 27 2018, 09:51 PM) Initial energy stats: 636 should be less battery life than 625 but of course more powerful. Also the screen larger."We were able to achieve a good battery rating for this unit since its a Snapdragon (Qualcomm is known for their battery efficiency), we lasted a day on normal usage without hitting the charging port or power bank. PC Mark Battery Stress Test rated it at 14 hours 1 minute SOT, which is quite impressive already for a new SoC in the market, this is 2 hours more than the Redmi Note 5 Pro which lasted for 12 hours on the same battery stress test. Now we have tested the charging time, we were able to charge from 20% to 100% within 1 hour and 39 minutes as we monitored it closely while charging. The maximum ampere that we have achieved is 2510mAh on a QC 3.0 charger supplied with the Mi 6, therefore this debunks the claim that this unit supports QC 3.0 charging." Lots of sample pix in this initial review too.... Source : xiaomi-miui.gr Conclusion :For 4,000mAh energy supply having 14 hours SoT is really impressive by looking at Snap636 over Snap625.... even my LeMoto P2 which has 5,100mAh only can get 17 hours for the same PC Mark Battery Stress Test... |

QUOTE(weirdguy @ Apr 21 2018, 09:38 AM) Fake? It is a strong word. It's because of the one plus/oppo "dual cam" system. Nobody can tell what their second camera does besides bokeh that's why people become suspicious hehe. I am confuse. IMO, the dual camera has true specs and how it could be fake? Just that its dual camera just naturally wow people first without understanding the true nature of the mechanics behind. I wouldn't quote fake, but I would say the perception and hype is overrated. But to poison you guys before this phone launch, the mi6x(mi a2/s2?) 20mp second camera is using p20 pro style camera, combine 4pixels into 1 pixel for night shots! Always something better is coming hahaha. |

QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Apr 22 2018, 11:14 PM) This part actually call as "Dual PDF" & Google Pixel should be the 1st to popularizing it. Pixel 2 also the 1st to combined Dual PDF + Ai (NPU). No no not pdaf, RGB sensor with Quad Bayer structure at least according to this.http://tieba.baidu.com/p/5660031071 But upon further research seems the sensor has been used by vivo before so now I'm not sure. |
