Hi there, just got head hunter offer to setup interview with IT for server/desktop engineer at Flex PTP.. Anybody can share about the working environment there generally or anything about the IT dept?

Nah, didn't get the job at Flex PTP but luckily got a better one in Senai haha.

generally what you said is true, massive downsizing in flex, p2 and p3 has closed down, how ironic compared to the p3 plan for expansion for more blackberry manufacturing jobs. it really depends on which team you joined, some are what you described, some are very protective of their employees. the ones who stayed probably just like less than 5 ppl now, even a director level executive has resigned 3 years ago.

Hey man, are you currently working in Flex Penang?

I was headhunted for a position as Mechanical Design Engineer and due for an interview with them. I think it is for audio related product. As Flex is a contract manufacturer, how much designing work do we actually have to do? As a CM, my thinking is that the design comes from the OEM right? and Design Engineer will be more likely to be involved in the production?

nope, that was long time ago, left due to frequent shutdown.
I'm not really sure how to answer your question, but generally as CM Flex dont do designing at all. all designing are done by OEM. as CM they need to be efficient and effective in producing the end products.
