I'm IT graduate so might be very different path with yours. Not very familiar with financial career path.
My first drawn salary was around 4k. About 4 promotions but MNC does it differently I guess. Promotion Vs merit goes separately and sometimes can come together.

huawei @ KL. My fren working 1 year after graduation then now getting 5.5k basic salary. not to mention with bonus and allowance, monthly income can be 6k to 7k. That is the price just for bachelor degree.

believe it or not, it is true.

I have his payslip but I can't post his payslip. This is roughly the breakdown:-

basic - 5.5k
bonus - 1k ( based on quarter performance, varies after 3 months depending on previous quarter performance )
handphone allowance - 300
transport allowance - 200

This is just the income when he is not outstationed.
When he goes out-stationed, there are even more allowance provided.

It is quite an unacceptable truth that someone with 1.5 years experience after graduation can get such price in the industry, but we need to accept that Huawei is really paying above the industry average, not by a bit but much higher than the average.

He joined with 4.5k basic salary. Increment of 1k after a year is not common, but I have heard of quite a few cases where you can get 800 to 1k increment if you jump company.

btw , what do you think the market price for such position and experience? Not very familiar with network engineering field. But because of my friend, if anyone asks me about average price for network engineer in KL, I would just say 4.5k for fresh graduate

Is he a perm or contract staff?

even in china most are contract. unless u r in management level. btw Huawei doesn't value ccie much since they have their own certification, in this case exp does more says..

from someone working in Huawei's rival. haha

in number wise, surely not worth it. travel further and need pay petrol and tolls.

and how sure are you this new job you are doing is what you are interested in? many times it's different from what you think you will be doing.

i think that is a good idea to tackle with problematic employee, who always take MC for no reason. Moreover it can train the employee to be punctual. First time hear about such allowance too 

I would go for the RM7000 company. Because the next time you jump again, it will be based on a higher salary (RM7000) instead of RM6070. You can get even higher next time.

I believe it is possible to get 4.3k because the job nature is quite dangerous as he need to fixed the equipment, maybe on offshore RIG. I also believe his job is contract job, hence the basic is high. But 22 years old is really young and he can save a lots of money to build/invest his future if he intend to switch career or settle down.

I have a first class honours degree from one of the local SG uni.
